Please, please make it easier to just talk to a real person. This goes for all Quest Diagnostics locations in the Monterey area. I was referred from MoGo Urgent Care to get a testing kit, and the process was described as simply walking in, showing the paperwork, getting the kit, and walking out. At this, and all locations, there is no one working a front desk. It is a single computer kiosk that only allows you to join a waiting list (which is painfully slow) or schedule an appointment. Additionally, every single phone number Quest has has 0 way to speak to a human worker- or even a phone bot! It's all prerecorded answers. Not only is this frustrating and needlessly convoluted, but while waiting, I saw multiple older patients get incredibly confused about the kiosk and how they were supposed to get help. This is simply ridiculous. Please, just make a way to talk to someone over the phone number and staff someone at a front desk. read more

I have used this lab now for a few years especially after finding out how much lower the cost is here vs Montage. The personnel are always so friendly and if you have an appointment I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes. Was in an out this morning and Taylor was awesome in her customer service. read more

Let me start by saying I get a little anxious when I have to have blood drawn. I was blessed with the cutest phlebotomist by the name of Eveylna. She was wonderful! I didn't feel a thing, I mean nothing!!! She was amazing. She was caring and kind. The office only had a couple of people in the waiting room and it was clean. I had the pleasure of working with Tayla who was very professional. She was extremely delicate when drawing my blood. The office was neat and accessible to the public. Tried making an appointment on line first thing in the am for my wife for blood work, she had to fast so am was the game plan... All am slots were taken for a number of days.. so we went with the directions that it states online that walk-ins are welcome... When we arrived receptionist/ nurse attendant told my wife that they didn't take walk-ins..? After a few minutes she proceeded to direct my wife to sign in on kiosk and wait for next available opening...? Mixed messages...!!!! read more

Came here around 9:30am on a Monday and there were only 2 people in the waiting room. Check in was easy; I already made an appointment online. Sat down for about 3 minutes and was called up for my paperwork from the Doctor. Holly scanned my medical card, which took a minute and BAM! I'm all set to get my blood drawn. I hate needles, but Holly was great and friendly. Quick and easy... I didn't even cry. I was in and out in 10 minutes! I'll be back for my future bloodwork :) Make an appointment so you get seen faster if there is a long wait. I came in for a one hour glucose test after making an appointment, but was told to go a bit early since I had to wait an hour before they could draw my blood. This place was PACKED. It instantly had me thinking, 'Maybe I should not have given this place an honest great review and turned everyone in Monterey on to this much better location.' So I signed in and decided to wait, what would surely be forever. You guys, this place is amazing. The woman at the front desk was efficient and helpful, Antonio was working in the back, and they got through EVERYONE in that packed waiting room in record time. Before my one hour was up, they must have sen 15 patients who never had to wait long. I cannot recommend this place enough if you need labs done in Marina, Seaside, Monterey, or PG. The automated phone appointment system is EXTREMELY faulty and wastes your time! It starts the process all over after you say you want to make an appointment and is in absolutely no way effective. read more

I came at 8am. They open at 730am. 4 people inside when i got there. No one at the front desk. Don't know if they are a small work team or what but it looks almost empty when you walk in. If it weren't for the people waiting inside and the lights on, you would never know it was there or open. No communication to the patients, you just sit there until your name is called by someone in a jacket, other than that you're not told anything and nothing happens until your name is called. :/ if you're in any rush I wouldn't go here, it's worth the trip to go elsewhere and get it all done, especially since appt doesn't really mean anything here. read more

Unethical lab. They game the billing system and charge the customer instead of insurance. This has happened to me twice. Others with the same insurance at work have had insurance billed and paid for. The billing department of the lab has the audacity to not help and contact a collection agency instead. DON'T USE THEM! read more

A great experience as getting your blood drawn could be. I've been to quest in Salinas, and waited about an hour before I could get my blood drawn by a rude woman who looked like her job was such a chore. While Marina is a smaller office- it is a quick pleasant experience. The gentleman at the front was the same who drew blood and it was the most painless one ive ever had. I waited all of 5 mins. Obviously this office is not nearly as busy as Salinas- so it was going to be quicker but the staff was nice enough. Def. worth the drive. read more

This place is wonderful. I have been told I have a challenging draw and both the man and woman that work here are amazing and always get my blood drawn on the first attempt. Today, I had the female phlebotomist professional and she had to be routinely observed by a supervisor as part of their program (i'm sure this made her nervous) and she was still awesome! FAST and FRIENDLY SERVICE. Just found out about this Lab, only a few miles from home. Walked in at 3:30 for a blood draw and walked out 10 minutes later. That included the time to fill out a short form as this was my first visit. Again, the man at the front desk was the same to take the draw. Sometimes people have a hard time getting my blood but he took one look, stuck me (minimal sting), and was finished in no time. Very friendly, personable, and I will return for any future lab services I may need. read more

I walked in around 11:40am not knowing that they close daily for lunch between 12:00-1:00pm. I felt bad for coming so close to their break time, and mentioned that I could come back, but the gentleman there said it was ok. There was no wait, although I anticipated one. The gentleman who did my blood work was awesome! I've had some pretty traumatizing blood work experiences, which has just increased my fear of needles. If you want to wait 2+ hours to have blood drawn, then come here. When I came, there was one guy who was checking everyone in and doing all of their blood work. I waiting 2 hours in the waiting room (there were only 4 other people) and another 20 minutes in the exam room. Ridiculous. read more

The Marina Quest Diagnostics is a small medical lab in Marina, California (which is a small town about 10 miles north of Monterey, Calif. Both my wife and I have gone there at different times over the last two or three years for various Doctor ordered lab tests. The guy who works there (Hispanic? Indian? Not sure..think his name is Antonio) is very nice and very skilled. In blood draws, unlike other places I have been, he does it right the first time and somehow (magic?) when he does it, it does not hurt. Wait times have been short. He is efficient at his work. I highly recommend this particular QUEST location, ESPECIALLY if you need to have a pediatric lab done. We took our two year old here last week and I chose this location bc of the Yelp reviews and I have been to the Monterey location and wanted to find another place for my toddler's labs. Antonio is both very professional and also very skilled at pediatric draws. He was calming and gentle with my (quite understandably upset) son. He did an excellent draw and the process was very smooth from check in and paperwork to the actual draw. The location is clean, bright (the monterey location borders on dingy) and well organized. We have only gone to pediatric phlebotomists in the past and I was very nervous about going to a general lab for my toddler. I am so glad we chose the Marina location and would go there again both for my kiddos and myself. It's worth the drive and I recommend scheduling an online appointment to minimize waiting. read more
