And I paid them over $10k up front…read more I knew that there was mold in the house from previous testing of the structure, but it hadn't been comprehensive enough. I was explicit from the start with BioMax about the necessity of finding the source(s) of the neurotoxins and mycotoxins present. Michael was confident that he could help us. I gave permission to engage in "destructive" testing - so that they could drill into walls or lift up floor boards in effort to provide unequivocal evidence of mold presence. They did not do this. BioMax did little more than confirm what I already knew. The house has mold. But they could not pinpoint where the sources were. Subsequently, they provided a long and detailed suggested remediation report that looked impressive, but was in fact woefully inadequate. You can't effectively remediate a water damaged house without locating the actual sources!! Given that the assessment was incomplete, because they didn't locate the sources, and because the remediation recommended was clearly going to be insufficient, I had no choice but to hire another mold testing company. This company indicated that they could and would find the sources. They did. I and other members of my family are quite ill with mold toxicity and related conditions. Had I followed BioMax's remediation plan, we would have paid out tens of thousands of dollars to "remediate" and would have remained sick because the mold would have continued to flourish within the walls, HVAC system, and under the floors. Put plainly, BioMax's work was insufficient and incompetent. When I presented them with all of this and requested my money be returned, they refused. Michael said that they met contractual obligations. I say that's a cop out. They should stand behind their work. Integrity should prevail. You're messing with people's health! FAIL.

It was wild... you could smell the barnyard smell as you approached the pool house. The home inspector saw two rats in the middle of the day as he was looking around. Everything was badly badly covered in thick black piles of rat waste. I paid Terminix over $6000 to seal the entrances of the home and pool house then another $2500 to clean the attic, remove the contaminated insulation and re insulate. After having them back four times to address issues in the attic I called West Coast Remediation. They *actually* restored the pool house. Removing stained wood, encapsulating where needed. Replacing floor boards and insulation that Terminix skipped. For context: these photos are from them... this is the attic crawlspace. Imagine about 300 sq ft like this under narrow eves... Wasn't a "flawless" experience (crew tracked outside dirt through the house, we still have to hire a different contractor to redo the drywall), but on balance, the quality of the work performed, the price, the speed, and *actually solving the problems no one else could* means I'd still rank this experience 11/10 and will definitely recommend without reservations.

I had a rodent problem in our crawl space. I called Ryan and he thoughtfully walked me through the…read moreprocess over the phone. We set up a time and he came over to my house to take a look. Ryan explained everything in great detail and educated me on things like where rodents could get into the house, what they like to eat, the difference between mice and rats (who knew rats were so intelligent), different kinds of traps, etc. We walked around the house and identified spots that should be sealed up. He offered practical solutions like chicken wire and expanding spray foam (typically used for insulation). He asked me if neighbors were setting out poison because he saw several dead critters in my crawl space. It turns out, a week later I did see a poison trap set up a few houses away from me. His down to earth approach on problem solving resonated with me. There's no black and white answer when you have rodents. Ryan was very patient and made sure I understood all of the options. It's been a month since he came out. Since then, I caught one mouse, sealed up the obvious spots around the house, and haven't seen any new activity. If the rodents do come back, I feel much more prepared to deal with it the next time around. If I can't, I won't hesitate to call Ryan again.

He took the time to walk me through each problem area and offered suggestions for solutions. He clearly demonstrated excellent knowledge of the various parts and systems in the home while keeping it simple for me to understand. He also saved me $11,000 by helping me investigate a known problem with my furnace. On his advice, I had the HVAC company come back for a second round of troubleshooting. They found exactly the problem he suspected which was a MUCH cheaper fix than what the HVAC company initially recommended.
