"Customer service" here is terrible. The parking is terrible. I came in on a Friday to have some lab work done. Come the following Thursday, I picked up my results from my doctors office just to find out the lab mishandled 3 of my blood tubes so they weren't able to do the test. They never contacted me for recollection to do the test over. Is is extremely frustrating when lab results are needed for important stuff. They're far from professional, as when I came in the first time the workers were talking about how an order form was just sitting on their desk for about 3 days and no one noticed and told the patient they didn't have the order form--VIOLATION OF HIPAA!!! read more

This Location is Horrible. There is no customer service. Also, the staff at this location is extremely Rude and unprofessional. I also witnessed them communicating in the Spanish language, sharing patients' confidential information and making jokes, and laughing at a disabled & impaired senior citizen. I asked for a supervisor because the staff completely ignored me while requesting a chair for another disabled person to sit on, and that request fell upon deaf ears. I believe that the staff members at this location should all be terminated just as a matter of principle with all the (jahco) & (Hippa) violations. I went into the location and could not figure out how to checkin. The front desk person named Sal came out and helped me and gave me a mask. When it was my turn to get my blood drawn, I was called in by Charmain. I was not having a good day our conversation brighten my day. Very disappointed we've been here 3 times with the same work order to get blood drawn for specific testing. How can they not follow a work order? then play the blame game oh i didnt input it oh it was crossed out i have the same work order in my hand that was originally brought in as you took copies please show me where it was crossed out? I came here for my 12 month old baby routine blood draw. The phlebotomist was kind but she couldn't find her vein. I understand baby veins are tiny. My baby was crying and inconsolable as she switch the blue rubber band from arm to arm. She called for assistance. Meanwhile another gentlemen who worked there came in to be a spectator I guess. The less bodies in the room the better. To much commotion was occurring raising my baby's anxiety and mine. When another gentleman entered the room he hard time finding her vein too. I mentioned he needed to get it on the first puncture or we will reschedule. I understand I was imposing but my baby won't be a pin cushion for someone's poor experience with pediatric blood draws. It was escalating and I stopped it and i said never mind. My husband and I left. I do appreciate the first woman phlebotomist kindness which is the reason for 2 stars but I won't be returning ever. read more

In the entire 2 hours waiting in a room full of people (plus folks waiting in the hallway) there ahead of me, ONLY 2 PEOPLE WERE CALLED. The receptionist told me that I had never signed in, which was a lie. So I had to sign in AGAIN. No apology or anything. I will NEVER come back to this location. JUST A HEADS UP! I recommend everyone to make an appointment because with Walk In it's 2hours or 2 1/2 Hours! I'm not even joking lol you can see your waiting time on TV in the waiting room but don't believe the wait time! For example at 9:10am my wait time was 40 mins, 10:21am it updated and shows 12 mins!!!! I checked in at 8:20am. The wait line is pretty ridiculous! I recently visited this location with my mother and in the past we have never had an issue until today . As she was going in to check in as a walk in (knowing that she might wait longer for not having an appointment) the person at the front desk ( that later that morning we found out he was the manager) . This person that claims to be there to help and do his JOB , basically kicked out everyone that was coming in as a walk in , and yelling at the patients . He wouldn't let them in and kept telling them to go home Bc they weren't going to be seen unless the had an appointment, many of these patients were elderly people and yet he was very disrespectful. I noticed people waiting for hours to be told that they had to go to a different location. I am beside myself. The receptionist was a total bitch. She had the feelings of a wet noodle. The good news is that I don't live with her. COVID has turned the world upside down. The rules keep changing. I sat inside a small unventilated waiting room for almost two hours trying to get A PCR test. When I made the appointment there were no restrictions other than not to be sick. I sat there waiting for a fax from my doctor that never came. My hope is that I didn't get COVID while sitting there. Earlier this week, I walked into this laboratory for a blood test. I did not have an appointment because my doctor (incorrectly) said I wouldn't have to. I walked up to the desk where a very overweight Hispanic lady (I would write her name if I knew) told me that I couldn't be seen because I had to make an appointment but nonetheless told me I should wait 1 hour. I let her know that I couldn't wait so I requested the number to THIS LABORATORY, the very one she's working at, in order to make the appointment for another day. The audacity to tell me that she did not have the phone number or any business cards. She literally told me to google it. She was very very rude. I only gave it 2 stars because one of her coworkers overheard our conversation and she wrote down the number for me to call. HOW DO YOU WORK THERE? Not only with such a foul attitude but no knowledge of the very business who's desk you're sitting behind. Terrible. read more

Leslie went above and way beyond in customer service to get a super-complicated blood draw done including calling some obscure internal labs to get the right codes so I could be in and out the same day. She also did a good needle draw, is super conscientious, and doesn't take crap from rude customers. Hooray for great follow through & all the way service - ask for Leslie :) PS - making an appointment goes a long way due to the neighborhood population. read more

The TV that shows how long you have to wait until the reception desk lady assist you is a lie. When you read that you're 5 minutes away from your time to be assisted, then you take a look on the TV clock again, you are 11 minutes away. I did complain the front desk told me that the system back you up. The walk in time was 1hour wait! Dealing with all dummies, that by ignorance forgot to sign up on the I pad when they get in. I have been coming to this location for at least 7 years, and today made me never wish to return. I have very small veins, which require the butterfly needle. Today I was told by an extremely rude and disrespectful phlebotomist that those needles were on a limited basis. She then proceeded to lie to me about why I couldn't be issued one and tried to use a very large needle which was a disaster! When that didn't work, she handed me back my order and told me to go somewhere else. I refused to leave because surgery was in 7 days! A second phlebotomist who is an African American woman, finally bought in the butterfly needle, and everything went smoothly. I hope I wasn't racially discriminated. Kudos to her! read more

I was told by one of their employ how to check in as walk in so my daughter can do her test since she was fasting for 12 hours already. After waiting 3 hours (at 2:30PM), I asked how long it will take to get our generated machine number and a rude lady said we will not serve your daughter since she is a walk in. I told her she has been fasting so far for 15 hours. She refused to help us and confirmed that we have to schedule an appointment. Why would you want to waste someone's time and even allow walk in check if you will not serve them! If I knew that there is a 10 percent change we will not be seen, I would have not wasted 3 hours from my life and dealing with rude people. When I try to reach them at this office by phone, I ended up with another office 50 miles away from this office. Worst customer service!! My mom is a cancer patient on chemo and her Dr sent her to get labs. We tried making appointment online and over the phone. Couldn't get an appointment. My mom went to site to try to have a walk in appointment, the worker said she wasn't going to help her due to her and other people not having appointments. She requested they go to other sites. Mind you, there were no other patients with appointments there. When my mom asked her what she can do since she needed her labs for her chemo the employee told her "i don't know why are you asking me?" Very unprofessional on her part. Not only on the recording when you call it says that the first hour is designated for people with health conditions, when my mom told the employee that she said "I'm going to tell my supervisor to remove that because it's not true." Second time in 2 days that i needed to have a lab test done and I just walked in at this location because of its vicinity to my job! I went there 12:38pm and at the door there was a sign saying that the office is at lunch until 1:30. So i was just wondering around and decided to go there a little earlier than 1:30 so I can be one of the first... but i was 6th and I freaked out because i had to be back by two. Well the story short they open the office at exact 1:30, everyone was signing in at the ipad and the front lady was so helpful to guiding all patients. I must have signed at around 1:45ish, was called at 1:50 and out of the door by 1:55! I've been here twice and had the luck to get Kathy (I think) both times. Getting blood drawn is usually quite unpleasant for me between getting vaso reflex and having small veins, but she's amazing and it was quick and painless. I will say I had to wait for two hours, partially because I was over 10 minutes late to my appointment and so I counted as a walk-in, but I understand that's my fault and even that wait is totally worth it to me to get such a high quality phlebotomist. read more

Short version: The people in this office care more about their lunch breaks than how the way they run their business affects other people's health and lives. Long version: On a Thursday, my surgeon told me I needed some standard pre-op blood tests done. I needed them done by the following Tuesday so he could get the results in time for the scheduled surgery to take place. I work in the Playa Vista area, so over the weekend, I went online to the Quest Diagnostics website and made an appointment to be seen. I received an e-mail confirmation: Thank you for scheduling an appointment with Quest Diagnostics. This is to confirm that your appointment has been scheduled as shown below: appointment Date: Tuesday, July 29, 2014 - 1:30PM PDT Location: 4477 W 118th St Ste 102 Hawthorne, CA 90250-2256 Conf # BSD13998 So, on Tuesday, I punched out of work (I am paid hourly and have a one hour lunch break., so I was hoping this could all be handled quickly so I wouldn't miss any work) and drove 10 minutes to the Quest location. Parking was easy and free and I arrived in the dim, dingy hallway outside Quest Diagnostics at 1:22pm. A sign on their door said their hours were M-F 8:00 am-12:30 pm & 1:30 pm-4:30 pm. However, a small sign with a clock face had been stuck on the door and said, "Be back at 2:05." A family with two small children was already waiting outside the door. I tried to call the office but got a recorded message: apparently, there is no way to get a human at the Quest corporate number, which my call was automatically transferred to. So, my 1:30 appointment time came and went. Every few minutes, another person would show up and be incredulous that the lab was not open their posted hours. A woman with a 1:45 appointment showed up as well. A security guard in the building who walked by mentioned this was a frequent event. And having a sign you can put on the door to tell people when you will REALLY be back sort of supports that observation. After all, if you were open your posted hours, you wouldn't need one of these signs, right? They finally let us all in at 2:05 (ten people had lined up by this time) and I gave them all the insurance information I had been given, which was the name of the insurance company and the claim number for my case (this is a workers' comp case). They told me this was not enough since they needed the billing address for State Farm. Really? Quest has never billed State Farm for anything? I even had the surgeon's office fax over the order for the test but it was not sufficient for the office manager, so I paid out of my own pocket for the tests. After all, I was supposed to have been back to work already by this time. As I was seated in an exam room where they were running my card for the tests (yes, they can do that right in front of you on a computer terminal equipped with a card reader in the same room where they take your blood), I politely asked why I was able to make an appointment during hours that the office was closed. "Sometimes we go to lunch late." The blood draw went without incident and was handled professionally. I got back to my desk at work two hours after I left and had to work an extra hour that evening to make up for it. Luckily I could; if I had been a strict hourly employee somewhere else, I could have suffered disciplinary action or termination for staying away so long. Having been a manager of guest service and customer oriented businesses for over a decade, I think I can say that this is an example of a poorly managed office. Corporate expects the office to be run a certain way and the staff don't go along with these guidelines. No apology was offered (not even the routine, insincere, "I'm sorry.)" and now I get to contact State Farm on my own to hopefully get reimbursed for the lab tests. Utterly unprofessional way to run an office and I will never, ever go to this Quest again. read more

Love this place! You can receive ur test results by cell/email. And i love that their website...you can choose the time of your appt. And the staff was gery nice...didn't leave any bruising and the place was VERY CLEAN! Will always drive out of my way to come here for my lab work! It seems the staff loves their jobs! I arrive at 10am on Monday, but the front desk person advises me that I need to return another day at 8am due to the test requiring blood be drawn by 9am and that I have to advise front end staff it is a timed test. So I rearrange my schedule to come back at 8am on Friday. No one is at the front desk as they open but a sign in sheet. At 8:15am a woman arrives at the desk and I advise her of what I was told and she advises me it is not a timed test. Because of this I had to reschedule my doctors appointment due to results not being available in time. You would think that in a medical field where time is of the essence that they would be thorough and concise. I will never again return to this location. read more

This place is a ridiculous zoo. I had an early morning appointment, but still waited 45 minutes to be seen. And that was on a slow morning. I returned a few days later to drop off specimens in the late morning and not only was the waiting room completely full, but it was overflowing into the hallway. I can't imagine how long those people waited. The waiting room experience is also similar to an ER. Think screaming, crying children, people having overly loud cell phone conversations, a few unsavory looking types, etc. The nurses were nice enough, although a bit rough (I don't recall ever being jabbed for blood before). If I have to have more labs done, I think I will try a different location. read more
