There are a loooooot of walk ins here so make sure you make an appointment. The parking lot is incredibly small so be prepared to either park elsewhere and walk, or circle the tiny parking lot for a while. I personally would avoid coming here for the limited parking, there are also some homeless people who set up in a corner of the parking lot that makes this place feel unsafe in my opinion. The blood draw was not amazing, my phlebotomist didn't hold the gauze on my arm long enough and I bled out a bit more than comfort. But with an appointment I only waited maybe 10min? People working there were kind, clearly understaffed for the volume of the location though. Took my mother to her appointment 15 minutes early (1500 appointment). She entered her visitation code, got an error, knocked on their door for assistance, and didn't get help until after 1500. She stated the lady who came to her said the code was invalid because it was passed 1500...and that she did not answer the door because she was on "lunch". They refused to help her after that. This is the second time this has happened, I won't let there be a third. As a healthcare professional myself, it's sad to see a location ran by lazy, unimpassioned people. The employees here at this location are so rude. They mostly have older latino patients come in and of course have a hard time with registering or knowing how to work the registration devices and when they try and ask for help they just get rude responses from these employees. They act like it bothers them to get any questions. I hope they close this place down, I'd rather drive to a different city than have to see people being talked to so rudely by the staff. The attitude that 1 of the workers has is ludicrous. I witnessed her talking very rude to a older lady, the patient explained i know my appointment time is at 3:30pm but i dont have no transportation, so if possible can I be seen early. The worker explained very very rude i cant take you early until i clean out the room. I wish I could review Quest Diagnostics in general and not just this location but I'm currently in a Quest waiting room, having the same problem I had at this Hawthorn location - there's a television in the waiting room *blasting* the news and advertisements. When I arrived at the Hawthorn location it was SO LOUD. I asked them to turn it down and they did, which helped, but why is Quest doing this to its patients?? I prefer this location versus the inglewood location. The staff is so nice and accommodating. I don't know what the bad reviews are. The lobby was clean and the room I was in was clean as well. I am a certified phlebotomist and the person why drew my blood did everything to the T. Some places I go to, they don't know the rules and regulations of drawing blood. Not them. They are on point. Loved them so much I took my mom here for her blood work too... and recommend them to whomever asks. Keep up the great work you guys. PS.. Showed up here this morning to get my blood work done of course I needed to be fasting. She asked me if I had appointment, I said I did not. My MD didn't say I needed one. There was absolutely no one in the lab waiting room. No one. She said they now require appointments. (it clearly states on Yelp that walk-ins can be accommodated.) I said there is no one here it would take five minutes for these labs. She showed me a list and said I have all these people today. I said I understand you have all these people but there is nobody here. I would be done well before the next person Walked in. She refused. Lame. I see Quest responds to dissatisfied customers with some cursory blanket statement, as if somehow that statement alone resolves the problem. If you have no appointment - be patient and understand not everyone will have our time and do not expect to be serviced based on wait time. I was in and out within 5-10 minutes. Terrible service. The automated service number provided set my appointment and confirmed the date and time but, once I arrived there was no record in their system. When I asked for assistance from the tech, she was rude and short with me and when I asked how I could call someone directly for assistance and to check on the appointment I previously made she said I can't help you, just call the number. In the office I called the number and asked for the operator and line shut off. This company's scheduling system is inefficient and several other patients in the waiting area agreed and offered other ways to make the appointment, no help from the actual techs or reps of Quest but the patients. This is the ABSOLUTE worst place to come if you need lab work. I was simply trying to drop a specimen off after having lab work done the day before at another Quest. Charmaine REFUSED to look in the system to see the order and let me drop it off, even though I was told multiple times that I could drop it off at ANY Quest location. This location and Quest in general is an ABSOLUTE nightmare. You're unable to speak with a live person on the phone and when you're there, the employees do not do their job. I had to drive back to the original location I had the lab work done to be told that I in fact could've dropped it off at the Hawthorne location. Charmaine simply was too lazy to do her job. On top of that, I was forced to wait again to simply drop something off. I asked to speak to a supervisor at the original location where I had to drive back to. I was told there wasn't one onsite and given a phone number to call. Adrianna, is supposedly the area manager. I called that number and it leads to a FULL voicemail without ANY indication of who you're trying to reach. How unprofessional can you get?! This place and whoever runs it is a joke! There's no accountability and no one cares how much trouble they put you through. Quest is pure garbage and you're better off going ANYWHERE else. read more

Cathy was awesome!!! She was all smiling, making me at ease (I hate needles!!!), and made sure everything was right. She asked how long have I fasted, if I had any drink or food. I have had neither 10-hrs prior, and she provided some water and cookies. More so, she took care of me when, embarrassing to say at least, when I fainted! When I came to my senses, I was dizzy, shaking, shivering, etc. She was attentive and made sure I was OK to drive off (took about 10 to 20-mins). She needs to be commended from a grateful patient. However, the drop in rating is because of the sign-in/registration process... There is only one iPad in the room that is used for both Walk-In and Appointments. The problem I saw, which led to some delays, around 10-20-minutes, in spite of having an appointment, are the Walk-Ins that have to enter lots of details before they get placed in the queue. At least for this location, several of the walk-ins were "technologically challenged," for lack of a better word, which led to delays. I would suggest 2 iPads and 2 queues - one for the Walk-Ins and another for those that have Appointments. read more

They drew my blood, 5 vials for only two tests and when I got the results they ran the wrong tests. They did not even follow the orders.

I came in this morning although I was a bit hesitant (reviews weren't too great about the place) though I must say my experience was the complete opposite. I was greeted and serviced right away. A lady and a guy serviced me out front but Dulce took my blood. I am a difficult stick but she got my vein right away! She talked to me through out the whole process that I hadn't noticed she had finished the draw. I would come again but I will make an appointment next time (noticed patients were seen faster that way). read more

Charmaine is a fantastic phlebotomist! I have had the worst past experiences getting my blood drawn where I become a black and blue pin cushion that's berated for having 'difficult veins'. Charmaine is so good at her job that I'm no longer anxious about getting my blood drawn . I had to get a significant amount of blood drawn due to the multiple blood tests that needed to be conducted. She immediately put me at ease. It was relatively painless with no bruising, and she even found a vein that no one had been able to draw blood from in the past! She is a total game changer! Thank you for turning what could have been another stressful experience into one that was seamless and relatively painless . read more

This was my first time to this location. I had an appointment and arrived on time. They called me in, on time. The facility was clean and orderly. The person who called me in was Sandra. Apparently , the order was incorrect and through many questions and trying to figure things out, the order was in adequate. My frustration is not with any of this. The worker, Sandra, had quite the attitude. I understand she was frustrated with the request not being correct, but her skills of humanity were extremely poor. I kept my cool throughout this, knowing that she was going to be the one to stick a needle in my arm once it was all resolved. She spoke at me with immediate annoyance. I understand that to a point, but you're in healthcare and that does take a bit of an extra heart. She asked me to call my doctors office, and while I was on hold, she told me she was going to have to send me out to the waiting room and I would then become a walk-in status. She said she only had 10 minutes per patient and already five minutes had gone by. I didn't say a word but simply glared at her. Fortunately, the doctors office came online and we discussed the situation while on speakerphone, the office said they could fax over the proper order and Sandra's responses were such that the person at the office's response was "don't let her talk to you like that". At this time, I realized things just aren't going to work out at this office and gave it up. Then I let her have it! I told her she sucked. Of course her response was all negative and she raised her voice as I was raising mine. I told her also, that I have been in healthcare for more than 40 years and she has no place in healthcare. of course she was sarcastic as I was also and voice levels were elevating. I have researched and called to file a complaint with quest. Somehow... I can't seem to navigate that. Everything I have tried leads me nowhere. If anyone has a suggestion or can lead me in the right direction where I can voice my personal inter action with "Sandra" at the Hawthorne office, I would appreciate any information you could give me. Again, this has nothing to do with the office, but Sandra's attitude and unprofessional ethics. People come into a lab for bloodwork for many, many different reasons. some routine and some could be life-saving. You just never know and every person deserves respect. Needless to say... I like how nice the office is, how efficient everything is handled and the fact I didn't have to wait hours to be seen, unlike another local lab. They are tech-savvy and use Ipads to allow you to enter your info right into the computer which I liked too. My blood was drawn by a very qualified technician whose name escapes me. I can always tell if they're good at what they're doing because I have veins that are hard to find and those that know what they're doing generally don't hurt me. Those that don't, do. He didn't. Easy in and easy out. I recommend this place for blood work. read more

I came in this morning for routine lab work on the recommendation of my doctor. Upon entering, a large young man at the desk says "Wait outside". Unfortunately, I'm the only one waiting in the hallway and it appears that like a nearby Labcorp location, you have to make yourself visible. Otherwise, you may find yourself waiting outside of the office for up to an hour. Anyway, I make myself visible for about five minutes and was never called in. The few patients inside were spaced apart accordingly and there was no one else in line but the male at the desk didn't acknowledge anyone. While I have a good idea as to why this was (especially after reading the reviews here), the room was pin-drop quiet, as the phone was even silent. All he was doing was looking at his computer screen. After a few minutes of waiting, I took my business to Labcorp. read more
