Excellent lab in Manhattan Beach in Walgreens. I had no problems with their online appointment system and booked a fasting blood draw 2 weeks ago. When I arrived this am, I checked in with my phone and was called within 5 minutes. Very comfortable chair and friendly phlebotomist. I was in and out in no time! What I experienced at this LabCorp location was alarming, unethical, and inappropriate for a medical testing environment operating under HIPAA and patient care standards. I have used LabCorp services many times without issue, which made this encounter particularly disturbing. From the moment I was called back, a male technician named Juan spoke to me in an aggressive, confrontational, and demeaning manner. I was rushed, verbally pressured, and repeatedly told I was "not prepared," despite calmly explaining that I required a brief moment to comply and that I have a physical arm injury requiring accommodation. This information was ignored. Staff also failed to properly educate me on when the testing process officially began, timing expectations, or what options were available if additional hydration or time was needed. Patients should be informed of procedures rather than shamed or yelled at for circumstances related to anxiety, dehydration, illness, or medical limitations. No hydration fluids were available on site, and instead of support, I was met with hostility. When I attempted to calmly advocate for myself, the situation escalated. Three technicians raised their voices simultaneously. I was surrounded, spoken over, and made to feel unsafe and intimidated. I explicitly asked Juan to stop yelling. Two additional technicians, including Jessica Alcantara, made inappropriate personal remarks regarding my demeanor and stated they did not want to assist me based on their subjective perception of my "energy." I was told I could be denied services because I was perceived as "rude" and because I could not immediately provide a sample. Denying medical services based on subjective emotional judgments rather than clinical protocol is unethical and unacceptable. There was no on-site manager present, and staff escalated rather than de-escalated the situation. I ultimately had to contact a supervisor myself simply to be allowed to complete a basic diagnostic test. No patient should be required to escalate to management to receive routine services. Additionally, staff made inappropriate comments questioning my credibility when I disclosed that I am a nurse and enrolled in nurse practitioner school. I was told I was "obviously not a nurse" because I did not know LabCorp's internal testing procedures. This demonstrates a lack of professionalism and understanding that laboratory technicians and nurses have different roles and scopes of practice. To be clear, I did not raise my voice, curse, threaten, or behave inappropriately. I followed instructions and requested respectful communication, patient education, and a brief accommodation. That request was met with hostility instead of patient-centered care. Patients should never be verbally confronted, humiliated, or intimidated in a clinical environment. This incident reflects serious failures in professionalism, staff training, de-escalation practices, patient education, and leadership oversight. I left this facility feeling shaken, unsafe, and deeply disturbed. I checked in 40 minutes before their closing time and was turned away. Before starting my 40 minute drive I attempted to call them to ensure they could see me but no one answered the phone. The technician was clearly overwhelmed because her tone was rude and demeaning. I tried to calmly explain my situation and was still just turned away. This lab could improve in their care quality, empathy and maybe have proper staffing to avoid situations like this. read more

Prompt, Friendly, and Professional I decided to try this LabCorp at Walgreens and was so glad I did. The workers at two other LabCorp locations in Torrance (3440 Lomita, 20911 Earl), where I took my elderly mom, were unfriendly and rude. The employees at those two locations seemingly hate their jobs. It was stressful enough getting blood tests related to cancer, but I refuse to subject my mom to such depressing, if not hostile, environments. My mom and I have been to this LabCorp at Walgreens in Manhattan Beach three times, and our experience has always been friendly and professional. They call us almost immediately after checking in through the express tablet. We were taken care of by Juan (once) and Emiko (twice), who both are very caring and patient with my mom (who uses a walker). As my mom's caregiver, I tend to ask many questions, and they are patient with me in answering them. I appreciate how Juan and Emiko are kind to my mom, ensuring she is comfortable during the blood sampling. Then they gently and securely apply the gauze and medical tape to ensure no bleeding. To make it easier for my mom, they even offered empty, sterile cups to take home for future orders requiring urine samples. It's hard to believe that this LabCorp at Walgreens in Manhattan Beach is the same company as those two dreaded locations in Torrance. The right people make all the difference. This labcorp did a good job. No injury unlike the other place. Didn't do circular motion for pads, but other than that, the MA was good.

The TV monitor is broken and with more than 10 people waiting in line no one knows who is next or how long the wait is! Please fix it! read more

Horrible customer service. Sign says closed for lunch at 1230. I tried to drop off a specimen at 1222 and they told me come back at 130, even when I told them the specimen is prefilled out and time sensitive. If they had competition, they'd be out of business. I left my blood work appointment Very upset after having extreme pain including stinging and burning during the blood drawing. I believe my nerve was hit after searching up why I experienced this pain. I felt the doctor doing my blood drawing was extremely negligent since I started crying, was visibly in pain, and said "this feels really weird " Despite all of this she continued the drawing. This pain was like nothing I have felt before. I'm really upset and concerned for other patients that she somehow did not recognize the pain I was in and that something was wrong with her procedure. HOPEFULLY the damage to my nerve is not permanent. I want the doctors to see this review so they know not to neglect other patients when they start crying and severely wincing during blood drawing. read more

Talk about the worst run facility in all of Labcorps. This place should be shut down and everyone fired for being lazy and incompetent. Went there for bloodwork with the labslip printed out which clearly says labcorp on it . They told me they don't do this anymore which is NOT TRUE since I was there a month ago. My assistant called at 3:45 to speak with someone at the facility for clarification. No one answered the phone for 15 minutes until the facility closed. Not one person picked up the phone. They were not helping customers as I was standing there the entire time and no other clients were there. THE WORST FACILITY EVER! Don't waste your time. Go somewhere else so they can all lose their jobs. read more

It also doesn't stipulate on their website this nifty little rule, and to add insult to injury I can't make an appt for 11 days. I came back the next day to test and was done within 50 minutes. So slow!! There's nowhere to sit you have to stand and block the aisles while other customers shop since it's inside the Walgreens. It took an hour and a half to be seen. The workers aren't super friendly. Had to take a urine drug test for employment screening and I filled the cup just under the line and the technician made a big deal about it and said it would get denied and I would have to come back. I said oh well I've been here over an hour I'm not gonna wait to pee some more. There was a poor pregnant woman waiting as well and she had to stand for a while as well since there were no chairs at all. read more

I had to take a preemployment drug screen and chose this labcorp. The lab is in the back of Walgreens. There is not front desk person to speak to you - you check-in on a tablet in front of the lab's door. The check-in is very easy - scans your ID / Drivers License and pulls up all your info. The big screen TV on the wall shows your place in line. They take about 1 person / 4-5 minutes. so the line of 7 in front of me took just over 30 min wait time. You get a text to your phone if you decided to leave the waiting area. If they miss you once - they will call your name again in 5 min, by which time you probably got the text message and came back. There are 2 lab technicians inside. They work quick and are very efficient. The place is clean and comfortable. My drug screen (urine sample) took about 6 min in total. Blood tests take probably 10-12 min or so. I would choose this place again for any basic lab work because: Check in is easy and electronic, technicians work quick (they are _not_ slacking off there), you get a text message when your line is up, so you can do some shopping or hang out at your car. Drug screens start at 9am. I showed up at 9:00 and left at 9:40am. Not too bad. (note that they take a lunch hour break so the lab is closed - you can look that up on their website). read more

This location list hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. however they don't open their doors until 8:15 I was there this past Thursday in a fasted state. It's so frustrating to get there early and they don't open on time. There was also for other people waiting in line complaing about the same thingl. I have visited other Lab Corp locations and they open on time. Why doesn't this location open at 8 a.m. they either need to pay their employees to come in at least 15 minutes earlier or change the hours that's advertised outside their entrance. This is a disservice to customers. read more

This location is close to work for me, but I am going to go back to the one on Prospect after this visit. I am writing this because this is my 3rd issue with this location, and I only go about once every 6 months. 1st issue - I made an appt and they decided to close that day with no notification. The appt was still showing me to come in. To add to the frustration, I then had to hire someone to come to my house and pay $$ to get it done because it had to be done. 2nd Issue - system down.... fast forward another 6 months later....3rd Issue - system down. When I asked if they have a manual process when this happens, I got a mumbling yeah, but we didn't want.... trail off..... The office manager couldn't even say we don't know how long it is going to be maybe reschedule. Unfortunately, there wasn't any consideration for the folks sitting and standing because there are no seats. It was like you just have to wait. No options were given. Definitely not about customer service. It was more about them worrying about themselves. I will go to another location but probably will just have my doctor's office do it going forward since they have a lab. Loss of business. read more

I normally go to the LabCorp. On Earl in Torrance but my roomie was going here. Went in Walgreens on Sepulveda we tried for 15 mins an the computer was down the only way we knew it was down is a lab tech came out to put OUT of SERVICE on screens , what was she doing for over 15 mins.
