It's sad to see so many bad reviews for this location - it's the only one I go to. I used to see Marcol there but at my appt this week they said he didn't work at that location anymore. Cue MARTHA! I do not do well with blood tests and so I was a little extra nervous when my go-to guy wasn't there but as soon as I told Martha about it she immediately switched into gear to take the best care of me. She calmed my nerves, talked me through the process, distracted me with conversation and before I knew it, it was over. So grateful I have my new go to. I have been to other labs where they have a hard time getting the vein right or just are rude. I have not ever had that experience here. read more

If i could give 0 stars i would. Stuff is extremely unpleasant, unwelcoming and not nice! I came in for my glucose test, im 7 months pregnant. You would think they would have some courtesy for pregnant people but no. Nurse Martha didn't even greet me, she directed me in the room, didn't let me put my purse anywhere made me hold it, claiming its "company policy" Was very rude the way she spoke , then Handed me Glucose drink as nasty as it already is, it was also warm! When i asked if they have cold one she Snapped at me! Then i asked if they maybe have a straw she said no, i asked if i can go get it she said i don't let her do her job. Then i walked out finished drinking the Glucose drink, i tried getting someone to set the timer "1h" but there was no receptionist, no nurse answered me knocking on the door! Then patient waled out, i used the opportunity and walked in found her myself and told her i finished it, she snapped at me again saying I can't go anywhere only to use bathroom and she thought i knew! This has been the worst quest visit i have ever had! Its beyond terrible they don't treat you as human, like they just came to collect paycheck and you annoy them with your existence. Will never come back here and do yourself a favour go to any other location! Its like we don't actually pay them to do their job and someone forces them. read more

I wasn't a fan of this office relatively compared to the other Quest locations I've visited. First of all, the instructions are not clear as to what floor to take the elevator to, which took up some time until I finally asked one of the kind security guards. The office was dark, with old worn-out chairs and worn out carpet. The front desk receptionists were pretty abrupt and probably stressed out from the full waiting area...but it didn't serve as a good first impression. I came in for a urine test and was told to put the sample in a specific tray in a room that had a patient there being helped, which I didn't appreciate because my information is taped on the container, along with several other urine samples, with a patient and her family member right there. The place was generally not clean or welcoming. The medical assistant/nurse who helped me, an Armenian woman, was very kind however and I didn't catch her name. I had an appointment scheduled, but apparently my appointment was cancelled while I was checking in to the kiosk. So then I got put into the walk-in queue. Well I've been waiting a long time. I don't want to leave because I've been fasting. Someone just came out and told me I didn't finish the check in process which I did on the kiosk but of course that didn't work. So now I've checked in a third time. Still waiting. It's been hours. What really broke my heart though is that an elderly couple tried to check in on the kiosk and had problems as well. I tried to help them but they were so upset they just left. They seriously need a live person in the waiting room and to test people like human beings. read more

Just came back from a blood draw. I love this place. It has a very spacious free parking lot. I can't imagine it ever getting full. The lab at Suite 50 is a little hard to find. You just need to know it's in the basement, so get in the elevator and press "b." When I arrived at 1:07pm the waiting room was completely empty. There was no one at the reception desk, but I had made an appointment so I scanned my qr code in the scanner at the desk. In a couple of minutes my name was called. My appointment was scheduled for 1:15pm. I wish I had gotten her name, because the latina who took my blood was great. I felt almost nothing and she was quick and efficient. Then I popped into the bathroom for a urine sample (make sure you don't pee before coming here!), popped it into the urine receptacle and I was out. Maybe 10 minutes max. Actually, I could understand how an empty reception desk might upset some people, but really, just make an appointment online, print out your qr code and you won't need a live human being to check in! read more

What's the point of walk in if they don't even think about calling even one walk in inside. They never have available appointments to make. No matter when I check they are always fully booked. I understand that people with appointments are priority but at least they can serve one walk in customer after every 3-4 walk ins. That's just not fair. This place is the absolute worst and the entire staff need sensitivity training immediately. Not only are they unprofessional but they're rude and have nothing but contempt for their patients. I arrived 10 minutes EARLY for my appt then was told by Martha I needed the hard copy referral from my doc which no one told me. I told her I wished someone would have told me ahead of time because I would have brought it. She gave me major attitude and said, "well it's your doctor's responsibility to tell you." I asked her, "how would my doctor know or be responsible for YOUR policy?" I had the copy on my phone but she insisted I needed a hard copy or a fax (not even an email) so I had to call my doc and get it. I called my doc, came back 10 minutes later and was now a walk-in because they now claimed I was 15 minutes LATE! When I tried to get a staff member to help me they shrugged and basically said I just had to wait for Martha to come back and then told me she had gone on break! WTF?!? Not only that but my place in the walk in line didn't show up and no one else would help me even though they're all doing the exact same thing. So, I basically just had to wait by the door and stalk Martha til she came back. When she finally did come back she was incredibly rude and patronizing and when I asked her why she didn't say anything about going on break she said, "well, I'm here now." Someone really needs to speak with her about her spiteful and disrespectful bedside manner. Not only that but I had to do a urine test and when I went to the bathroom it was a mess! It had obviously not been cleaned in sometime. Paper stuck to the toilet and no soap to wash your hands. Not only is this disgusting and unsanitary but if they're doing drug tests (with a sign that says not to flush after use) I wonder about the integrity of their testing. read more

I'm a regular patient of Quest Diagnostics here in 801 Chevy chase but today I'm not happy with the way the phlebotomist drew my blood in room 3. I was scheduled 7:40 AM. June 05 2023. After tech finished drawing my blood, she pressed the site too hard thus it was so painful. This happened while she removed the needle because Instead of pressing the the site lightly, she pressed it so hard while removing the needle. Why can't she just pull the needle while pressing lightly instead of pressing so hard? And she poked me twice. She also told me to drink water before the lab draw but I was told by the doctor's office to go NPO which means I can't take anything per Orem or per mouth, so that's why I did not take anything from last night. Which standard is correct now? The laboratory's standard or the doctor's office? Sounds like It's a double standard with the NPO instructions. read more

I don't think I've had such a horrific experience at a lab in my life!!! I arrived at my scheduled appointment and was told that they had lost my lab order. After waiting an hour I had to call my doctor's office on their behalf and ask to have another copy faxed over. The man at the counter who was checking people in was a jerk with an attitude not caring that people coming into the lab are dealing with various illnesses and his arrogant attitude is not something they should be subjected to. It really does not bode well for an establishment when the phlebotomist has to come out and apologize for the actions of their reception staff. read more

I have never come across a more rude and heartless woman - Adrianna, I am writing this review solely because of you. I went in for a blood draw with my toddler in my arm thinking this should be quick. I walked in and said hello and was using the self check in tablet to check myself in and asked her if the code my doctor's office gave us suffient to check in with. She rolled her eyes and said "do you have an appointment or no??" I answered "well, I don't know technincaly if I do or not, but I have a code". She snapped back "ok you're a walk-in". She then asked for my insurance card and I told her I don't have it and that I didn't think I'd need it since it's not my first time at quest. She just shrugged - no eye contact, and kept looking at her compunter screen. No suggestions of checking eligibility, nothing. The lack of customer service skills this woman has is 0. I called my doctors office to ask them what I should do and kept getting disconnected since the lab is in the basement and has very little service. She didn't even offer her office phone so I asked her if I could use it. Again, with no eye contact, she hands it over. My doctor's office clerk was the one who suggested Adrianna call my insurance to check eligibility based on my insurance ID number that they provided. She literally rolled her eyes and called. She then laughed about me with the person on the phone (beyond rude and disrespectful). She turns to me and says "they're unable to check eligibility". Just as I say "can I talk to them?" She hangs up the phone. I honestly think she read my ID number wrong on purpose. I left there feeling so defeated and I called my insurance company and when I read them my ID number, they confirmed eligibility and said "I don't know why the lab couldn't confirm it." Adrianna, you're a despicable person who shouldn't be working in customer service. Shame on you. read more

Unprofessional staff!! Staff came in at 7:05 AM when they are technically supposed to be open at 7 AM. They only had two people working and had a hard time telling people who don't have appointments how to make appointments because one of the staff that draws blood their barely spoke English. Once you're inside they literally treat you like animals. They love to talk down to you and make you feel stupid. And the entire time does two employees/coworkers were speaking Spanish non-stop with each other and giggling. I would never make an appointment with that location ever again. read more

This facility has no awareness of customer service. The front window is never staffed and you just sit there and wait in limbo even with an appointment. The staff really hate their job and white people as they shout and order people around in abusive tones of voice. They have no awareness that we are clients and they talk to people worse than I would ever talk to a dog. This place used to be more professional even 2 years ago but it has severely declined. I worry other Qwest labs may be this bad now. They have hardly any staff and the staff there CLEARLY hate their jobs and take it out on the Armenian and other white patients. read more

May 29th of 2018 At first, I was really hesitant to book my appointment here because of the horrible rating this place has. Then I was like lemme give it a try. I arrived to my appointment 6 mins late (4:51) which is 9 mins before closing time. They were really understanding, quick, and friendly. They never made me feel bad that am late and they also took the blood samples in few minutes. I then asked them why do u guys have this harsh rating when you're actually providing an excellent service? They told me it's because of a former bad worker who ruined this place reputation and that they're all paying for it! TERRIBLE SERVICE! There is no staff monitoring the lobby, digital check in only and unfortunately, most of the lobby was filled with elderly clients (who had an extremely hard time with digital check ins). The nurses would only open the back doors for a small moment in time to bring people in and they would literally bark @ any of the questions they got. Do yourself a favor and NEVER EVER go the the Quest Lab on Chevy Chase in Glendale! I have chronically had horrible experiences there the last three times I have been there. I will never go there again. If my insurance let me, I would never use any Quest again. They are always chronically understaffed, have lost my lab orders every. single. time. The curt woman at the front desk is not willing to thoroughly do her job. I had to get very terse her to get her to search for my orders and then she did and finally found them. They try to get you to do their job by having you call the dr if they have any issues with your order even though they have no internet or phone reception for you to do so. The lab also only did half the tests and forgot to do the other half of my 24 hour urine test so I needed to take yet another day off from work to do the 24 hour urine test. I have no confidence they will complete the repeat test correctly again. I have been chronically ill since I was 18 and have needed to get labs done very often through all these years and this is the worst experience I have ever had. STAY AWAY read more

I wish I would have read the reviews below before making an appointment here. Such a terrible experience and it seems like no one at Quest is making any changes to improve the quality of this lab since similar reviews go back a long time. My doctor sent me to Quest to run labs. I am on Day 6 of Covid and he wanted to check my viral load because I am high risk. He told me to let them know I have covid once I arrived, which I would have done anyways. I have been to many, many doctors and labs since the pandemic began and there is always clear instructions of what to do if you have Covid (i.e. 'Do not enter if you have Covid or are experiencing Covid symptoms' or 'go to this entrance if you have Covid' etc) There was nothing of the sort at this facility. I had an appointment which I had made online the day before for 2:40pm. I was 4 minutes late, so I expected to wait a few minutes. But even after checking in at the kiosk, people who came after me were being seen ahead of me. There is NO ONE to talk to there- only kiosks and nurses calling out names. I grabbed the attention of a nurse at 3:20 to make sure my name was in the que since I had a 2:40 appointment. She very curtly said that it is 3:20 and I am late. I explained no, I have been here since 2:45 and I just want to confirm my name is on their list because my doctor...I couldn't finished because she said if I was late I would have to wait. I started to tear up because of many reasons and decided to be patient and wait. I waited another 10 minutes. She opened the door and said, 'Sit in the chair' and left to grab- I guess- paperwork. When she came back into the room, I told her, 'I have Covid'. I am wearing double N95 masks. She gasped and said 'You can't be here.' I asked where it said that. I'm thinking I am really tired if I am looking everywhere and can't see anything. She takes me to the kiosk, and to a portion of the menu where I would never go because I had already made an appointment. Again, she said no you didn't. I was so exhausted at that point, I just left. Basically, my recommendation to you is to never come to this facility. Rude and such poor customer service. I left crying to myself after a very very long day. People do not know what other people are going through. A little bit of kindness and empathy when you see someone at a breaking point would have gone a long way. All she needed to have is a little bit of kindness. If she would have said, 'I'm so sorry, you waited nearly an hour, even with an appointment. It should be clearly stated everywhere what you should do in this circumstance. Here are other options for you.' I wouldn't be writing this. read more

I had such a horrid experience. Had to get a drug screening for a new employer. The screener, Jill Lizardo , was off the chart beyond rude and confrontational. She actually asked me "Do you have problem? I feel like you have a problem!" All the while starring me down like like an attack dog. This goes beyond unprofessional. Absolutely horrendous experience. The customer service was okay. I made an appointment so the wait time wasn't unduly long. The issue is when I got my blood drawn. The nurse, Matha, helping me made me feel super uncomfortable. I don't like needles, and when I asked her what the possible risks were/if the process was generally safe, she laughed at me and told me that I worry too much. She put the needle in me rather carelessly and it hurt more than a normal blood draw does. I thought nothing of it at the time. Now here I am about three months later and my inner arm where she placed the needle still hurts. I am seeing a doctor to ask if I received permanent nerve damage. I felt the nurse was absolutely unprofessional and that she placed the needle without being very careful. I genuinely hope she loses her job. Please don't come to Quest Diagnostics in Glendale. read more

I don't know how this place has 2 stars. I've been coming here for years and I've never had a problem. Phlebotomists know what they're doing and I never feel a thing. Receptionists are friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. With an afternoon appt I'm in and out within 15-20 min. I made a huge mistake a few months ago and went to another location in Glendale and had a terrible experience so today I came back to my original location and everything went as expected. Wow, I wish I had a warning about this place beforehand. I knew that getting my blood taken for an upcoming surgery would be a hassle but I didn't realize how terrible this place would be. I called ahead of time thinking there would be a long line since it is "walk in" and I wasn't given any way to make an appointment. The lady on the phone told me the whole process takes about 10 minutes. 10 minutes? I could hardly believe it! Um, not the case. When I got there people were in every seat, taking up all of the floor space, and even sitting on carpet OUTSIDE of this place. Jam packed and dirty! I walked up to the front desk to sign in and saw a list of a thousand names in front of mine. I started to ask one of the ladies at the front desk how long the wait was and she didn't even want to give me a number. She told me maybe an hour, maybe more.. which really sucked because on the phone they said 10 minutes when I asked the SAME question. When I brought that up the ladies at the front desk got really rude to me. Insulting me since I was calling them out! Finally the one I had talked to on the phone told me no, the process of drawing blood takes 10 minutes. Um, why would I have been asking that- obviously I needed to budget my time and thought I could get my blood work done before my pre-op appt because there was no wait! The nasty ladies started telling me I should've made an appointment.. I never even knew I could! There wasn't any information about that! When I tried to make an appointment at the desk they got mad at me again and made me call an automated robot phone system, which by the way, didn't work! I was so frustrated I ended up going to Quest in Glendora which was much nicer, no wait, and had a professional staff. Yes, I drove 25 miles away to deal with someone else. I would never go here again. The people are so rude and can't even answer a question over the phone. When something goes wrong they just shrug and say it's their policy and they can't help you. SUCKS. If you have to get your blood taken by Quest make an appointment online. That's the only method that seems to work. I'd also steer clear of both Glendale Quests- I called the other one and they were also really rude. read more

The following is a true story: "My husband had an appointment for 8:30 AM on Wednesday, July 8, at the Chevy Chase facility in Glendale, CA. When we arrived, there were lines of patients in the hallway. We went into the room and I went to the kiosk to present my Q code and was shown a statement that stated our wait would be 30 minutes. I found an empty chair for my elderly husband and I stood beside him. I was told to leave because I could not stay in the room. I informed them that my husband was easily confused and would not be able to hear his name being called. I was told that they will come out to the hall to call his name. In the hallway, many folks were complaining about the long wait. One gentleman got there at 7:00 AM and at 8:30 AM, he was still in line. He said they didn't want him to sign up when he arrived and now everyone else was signing up before him. After thirty minutes, I asked a gentleman why the long wait since we had an appt. He was very confused and kept shuffling multiple papers in his hands telling some folks to get into the room and telling others to join another line. He said he would check for me. I heard nothing else. Close to 10:00 AM, I asked again why I had waited for close to one and a half hours for an 8:30 AM. He said, again, that he would check. A little later a young woman came out asking for "Alphonse." She had been out twice before asking for "Alphonse." When she came out the third time, I inquired about the name. "Are you asking for "Adolf?" She quickly looked down at her notes and said, "You, come in here. Now!" Some folks standing in line with me gasped at her tone of voice. I entered the waiting room and brought my husband to the room where his blood would be drawn. She mentioned that they would also need a urine specimen. Since I knew my husband did not comprehend what she was asking, I gave him the instructions to urinate after the blood was drawn. I then asked her what all this "Alphonse" was about. At that moment she doubled down and said I should have KNOWN she was calling my husband. Really??!! Seriously??!! At that, I told her to stop and get to work and draw my husband's blood because he is a diabetic and had been without food for many hours. At that point, she closed the door on me, and I was separated from my husband! This is customer service? This isn't even safe medical practice. Oh, and the other incidentals? No one took our temperatures, and no one asked for my husband's I.D. or insurance information." read more

Are you freakin kidding me? I picked this facility off of the Quest website locations directory, assuming that all Quest facilities would have a minimum standard of quality. Read this and you'll catch my drift: Walk in to what looks like a broken down building after Armageddon, I find that the lobby map/directory is a bulletin board with typed and handwritten signs from the offices within. Paper was colored and faded and warped, like an old kids craft project. Many of the actual office door signs looked like this as well. As I'm getting lost old Armenian creepos are coming up to me asking "Where do I want to go?" Once I finally find the place on the "basement" floor, the office is so gross. I should have brought a black light to check the chairs before I sat down. I think I'd rather draw my own blood before I go back to this location. read more

If I could give a negative 100 review I would. The most disorganized, ridiculous system ever. I've been to the Quest on central and always got pleasant people and the walk ins and appointments were run so much smoother. This lab seems to overbook and walk ins are continuously shoved to the bottom of the list. The blood draws took so long I was convinced they were performing open heart surgery and not drawing blood. Aggressive rude employees who made this experience absolutely awful. Never again. Get it together! If you have a system that actually works you won't have a waiting Room filled with folded up hostile people. read more
