Lab technician was visibly ill (openly coughing, sniffling, red puffy face) and refused to wear a mask when requested.

    1 800 AUTOPSY

We saw our father at the mortuary shortly after his passing. We immediately noticed a hole in his…read morearm. It was SO obvious and big, no one could miss it. There was fresh blood around his night gown coming from his arm proving that bleeding came from his arm (no autospy was needed to tell us that.) So we knew where the source of bleeding came from and told the medical examiner this beforehand. All we needed to know was what caused it. AND we told Mr. Pocock this, just in case this wasn't apparent. Yet, his final autospy report does not mentions this in his report. And thats what we paid for. What's more is that we had to ask for him to look at our father's arm. Because... 1.) His arm was swollen 2.) There was an IV around it 3.) It had blood around it UNLESS Pocock didn't actually perform the autospy himself. We don't really know. Anyway, he acted like he didn't even see it, among other things we (and anyone else, including a camera) would see if they looked at our father. We told Pocock to look at our father's arm thinking it would led him to address our questions about it's prescence. We had to subject our father to be transported back from the mortuary for more analysis, just for his arm, but it appears we just wasted $4,200 and time. We know for a fact, that this contributed to his immediate passing. Yet, Pocock wrote in his final report that this was a "likely" cause and chose to highlight my father's known medical conditions instead of the cause of death bleeding out from his right arm, which is even noted on his death ceriticate as a major cause of his death. We were able to confirm this ourselves. His final autospy report does not even address HOW his arm got punctured or present a likely cause for what may have caused it or how long he may have bleed out for. We provided him with our father's medical history and a verbal record of what happened the night of his passing to the best of our knowledge to help with a narrative like he said he would provide. But we did not even get that much. He just put the cause of our father's death was kidney failure. Kidney failure was a condition that our father had, but that was not what caused his immediate death. It even says on the death certificate that it was exsanguination that led to his immediate passing. Yet, Pocock chose not to address his arm or any of our concerns relating to his death. He just addressed his medical conditions. There was no likely narrative provided that could have explained how he got a hole in his arm and how it caused his passing like on the death certificate or what we had told him we saw in person. Didn't he see it too? There's no doubt that exsanguantion caused his death, seeing as that there was blood present around his arm and his night gown. We shouldnt have had to even mention his arm to Pocock. It's lucky that we were able to see him ourselves. The hole in our father's arm was just so obvious by looking at him that it's hard to believe we had to ask him. Pocock's autospy does not answer the questions we posed to him and certainly does not do our father justice. It merely lists the medical conditions that he had told him about. Our family is still struggling to understand what really happened to our father with the same questions: 1.) HOW did his arm get punctured and/or torn? 2.) What likely caused it? 3.) And about how long was he unattended to bleed out at the facility he was at? 4.) Did he experience any abuse while he was in the facility? Why did his nose and bottom lip look altered? Unfortunately, there was also no explanation of the short toxicology report provided. As a family who loved our father dearly, we have already been through enough. So, why did Pocock not discuss and mention the hole found in his arm in depth AFTER he us he would and had our father transferred to him, twice? Why did he choose to focus more on on our father's medical conditions after we told him about these already? And why didn't he even try to answer our questions after we paid him to do an autospy and put them in a report? Maybe that's just it: He got his money and felt no obligation to do a good job afterward. Although we paid $4,200 and subjected our father's body to 2 autopsies just to get answers to discover more about what really happend to him. It's just too bad. We have yet to hear back from Pocock or Vicki from 1-800-Autopsy. The media should know that 1-800-Autopsy is not a good company for families seeking answers. Maybe it once was a company based on integrity and wanting to help bring justice/closure for one's family, but not anymore. The founder's wife, Vicki was also very rude to us, and even told us that we shouldn't have hire them AFTER we had already paid them. I guess she was right. Hopefully, you can learn from our horrible experience and go somewhere else if you want to know what really happened to your loved one and the cause of death to be explained to you. Don't believe the hype!

I was told that if I wanted to have had his neck examined by xray I should have requested that in advance. I let them know about the neck surgeries during intake. I didn't realize -- nor did anyone -- that I had to specifically request an "a la carte" item during the most painful grief period in my life. It took over 6 weeks to get my final report and then responses to my inquiries took a days to a week at a time -- with wholly unsatisfying answers from a condescending doctor. All in all, I'd find another place if I were you. It's too late for me.

Not having children, Phoenix was the closest thing I had to one, which made this loss especially profound. When Phoenix passed, it was after my vet had already closed for the evening. I explored a few 24-hour emergency pet hospitals to understand my options, but many of the quotes I received for cremation services were unexpectedly high, some well over $500 just for aftercare. That's when I found Compassionate Pet Transport, and I truly believe I found the right person and company during one of the hardest moments of my life. From the very first conversation, Sam was informative, patient, and incredibly compassionate. He took the time to walk me through the entire process, explain the different cremation options, and answer every question I had without ever making me feel rushed or overwhelmed. During a time when emotions are high and decision-making feels impossible, having someone calmly guide you through the next steps means more than words can explain. Sam came to my home in Newport Beach to pick up Phoenix. When he arrived, he didn't treat this like a transaction, he treated it like a deeply personal moment. He sat with me on the floor while I shared memories of Phoenix and talked about what she meant to me. He listened with genuine empathy, gave me space to grieve, and made me feel understood. I never felt hurried or pressured to move on before I was ready. What stood out most was the communication throughout the entire process. Sam kept me updated every step of the way, from pickup, to drop-off, to cremation completion, and coordinating a time to return Phoenix to me. Knowing where she was and what was happening gave me an incredible sense of comfort during such a painful experience. When it was time, Sam personally hand-delivered Phoenix's ashes back to me. That level of care, dignity, and respect meant everything. Losing a pet is devastating, and there's no way to make that pain disappear, but Sam made an unbearable experience feel gentler, more supported, and far less lonely. I cannot recommend Compassionate Pet Transport enough. If you ever find yourself facing one of the hardest days of your life, know that your beloved pet will be treated with kindness, respect, and genuine compassion. Sam is truly doing meaningful work, and I will always be grateful for how he helped me through saying goodbye to Phoenix.

Sam made me feel safe, understood, and reassured that this was the right place -- and it truly was. From beginning to end, I knew my sweet baby Mimi was in the best hands. The love, care, and attention to every detail meant more to me than words can express. During the hardest moment of my life, they gave me comfort when I needed it most.
