Do NOT go here!! The receptionist is rude and the phlebotomist is incompetent. My wife went to this place on July 16, 2020 to get a routine blood draw for her annual check-up. She does not have any medical problems in regards to having her blood drawn. She does not have any clotting problems or blood disease. Her veins are easy to see. Yet, the phlebotomist caused this sort of bruising due to her incompetence. Have you ever gotten bruising afterwards like in these photos (that I took two days later)? My wife arrived at about 10:20 a.m. as a walk-in. She had to wait about 25 minutes outside and then another 35 minutes inside before her blood was taken. My wife said the receptionist was rude and abrupt. My wife also said the phlebotomist had a nicer attitude, but had to put the needle in three times to get a sample. We have both used other places before for blood draws, and we have never had bruising like this before. We will never use this facility again. read more

I was a bit anxious to go to this location based on the reviews I had read but it's so close to my house I thought I'd give it a try. I've had labs drawn at least 6-12 times a year for the last 20 years so this is not my first experience at a lab. I had nothing to worry about here! They were kind and professional. The phlebotomist had a lovely, lilting, slightly Caribbean sound to her voice and was so nice. The clinic itself was clean and organized. I walked in for a fasting draw and was in & out in under 20 min. This will be my Quest location of choice from now on. Thank you! read more

My name is Tamra Haskins. I walked i to the Jamacha El Cajon location today..March 1st 2021. I handed my lab slip to Bonnie D. she was at the front desk. It was wall to wall packed full of people and crying children. I had to drop my slip off and come back because the wait was so so long. My phone did not notify me it was my turn so I ran a few errands came back a hour later. Bonnie was then walking out to lunch when I was walking back in and said "Oh my gosh dear you weren't helped yet?" When I told her no..with her purse around her arm on her way to lunch..walked me in took me directly into a room..sat me down and before I knew it..3 vials of my blood were on the table and she was putting my band-aid on. There needs to be more Bonnie Ds in this world. She is a great asset to the Quest team and I am a very hard draw with deep rolling veins to top it all off. Thank you Bonnie D. Run away! The front desk is horrible. Be prepared to announce your medical conditions to a room full of patients!

When I arrived a woman had been waiting for 45 minutes and had made an appointment online and checked in on the pad. How ridiculous first of all that a patient needs to check in on an iPad. The lady had been waiting and finally said something when I had arrived. The staff proceeded to blame her for not checking in properly and that she never made an appointment in the first place. This woman was not incompetent and I found it extremely rude. If you check in, verify with the desk that it went through!! read more

I have been to this place twice. I had a bad experience the first time. The lady busted my vein and for two weeks my arm was in pain and black and blue. Do not go to the lady with the bun in her hair! The person sitting at the front desk is always so rude when you walk in! Today was the best experience there. Get your blood drawn by Besma! Today i spent 2 hours and 15 minutes to drawn blood. The stuff were very slow. Instead of helping The people who were next, they were helping the people who just came in. I think when it is your turn to be helped , you should be called first. I thinks the employees need more trading . read more

My mother had a horrible experience here with Besma or Basima? Not sure what her name is. She was sitting at the front desk and before my mother could even finish her sentence, she loudly says "I'm helping a customer!" With her hand up. Well no one else was standing there and she had no phone in hand, but either way that is no way to speak to anyone. She left her standing there for a good 6 minutes even though she had an appointment and it's really not too complicated to ask what someone needs to see if maybe she can multitask considering her field of work. After all that, my mother was called in to get her blood drawn and they needed a urine sample. That nurse was super sweet however did not know how the machine was supposed to be used to deposit the sample. She left and came back and said their is no one to assist her and if we can just read the directions. Well they were complicated and my mother didn't want to do it incorrectly. She told us if we could go ask Besma/Basima at the front desk because she wouldn't speak to her! Her own coworker?! So my mother goes up there again. Guess what? Completely unprofessional and unhelpful and once again got loud. During this interaction, I witnessed her yell at an older gentleman who needed help with some check in machine that did not know English. In fact, spoke Arabic which is exactly what her primary language is since her English is not too great. So I asked her why she refuses to help him and just translate for him. Her response? "They don't allow us here to speak any other language but English." Well considering the area you work in and any job in fact, being bilingual is actually a plus. I think she just doesn't want to help and needs to get some extra training on how to treat people or plainly be fired. Horrible person. read more

I had made an appointment online. When I arrived there were 12 people waiting. Of these people, only one person had made an appointment. That person was called and then I was called just 5 minutes past my appointment time. All staff were friendly, informed and professional. Patients using this lab should be making appointments online. Very easy. In defense of the staff and wait time, it would be difficult to predict the time needed to process every patient. I required 20 minutes. This would affect the schedule and resulting wait time . However, the best way to go is still by making an appointment. read more

I went in a couple of weeks ago to have my son's blood drawn for a test, and the lady at the front desk was not only nasty, but unnecessarily sarcastic. She called a gentleman's name right before my son's, and as he walked up, you can tell she was set on giving him a hard time. She was not helpful to him at all. Then when we were called, I guess she assumed that I didn't have insurance(I was holding son and couldn't pull it out fast enough for her) so she gave me a nasty attitude. I worked in the customer service field for 8 1/2 years. Had the rudest people come and ask me for the most outrageous things, but not once do I remember even thinking to be so mean. Some people just need to be grateful they have jobs! read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILDREN HERE. I cannot believe what I just experienced here. I brought my daughter who has severe special needs and is medically fragile. First I show up to the appointment right on time. I check in at the kiosk. Then it takes 20 minutes for them to call me back. Meanwhile the waiting area is filling up with people. Then the lady looks at the paperwork and says right away she doesn't think they can do it. Because apparently they cannot freeze samples? So she calls another lab to double check which takes more time. Throughout this time she is coughing. We are still in the pandemic and not only that but cases are surging right now and she is sitting less than 3 feet apart from me and my medically fragile daughter coughing repeatedly. This is completely unacceptable. She never got through on the phone and just advised me to go elsewhere. Overall an hour out of my and my daughters day wasted. read more

This place is a joke! I came in at 7am to get blood drawn. My doctor had some concerns and wanted it done ASAP so he told me he was faxing the orders over. The lady at the front desk treated me like I was an idiot because the orders were sent electronically through the system. I had my blood drawn by a woman who hurt me pretty bad. I'm a regular blood donor and I've never had bruising like I did here. Met with my doc a week later to find out they used the wrong orders!!!! The ones in the system were 3 weeks old, they never even checked for the fax even after I told them it had been faxed. To add insult to injury they billed my insurance with the code from the test I was supposed to have but it wasn't covered. I paid $86 for these incompetent rude people to hurt me and waste my time. read more

THE WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN!!! I took my daughter in to draw blood on May 25th 2017, as a walk-in. I walked up to the counter and the lady at the front desk did not even acknowledge me nor did she say anything and acted like I didn't even exist. I simply wrote my daughters name on the sign in sheet and sat down. After a short while she calls my daughters name, and asks me if she has an appointment, I told her no she doesn't, so she explained to me I had written my daughters name on the wrong sign-in sheet.(the one I signed in was for appointments only). I wrote her name on the correct one, and sat back down. An hour goes by, and I see people are continuing to get called in, even people who had arrived after us. The same lady, sees I am getting very frustrated and my patient is running out, looks at me and she's "you guys will be called upon shortly". So I said okay, and waited. As I am waiting and I'm feeling very angry inside, I notice that that same lady, seemed to talk and act differently with the different nationalities of people that were either waiting, walking in, or leaving. She tended to be very calm and smiled with people who were not middle eastern, but others who I could tell were a middle eastern, her demeanor, the way she spoke, and everything about her seemed very NEGATIVE! At this point, it's been well over an hour of us waiting, and patients continue to come and go, and we're waiting. Finally, I was like enough!!! I go up to the front desk to look at both sign in sheets, and I could see were 5 or 6 people who were on the sign-in sheet that I signed in after me, that had already been seen. At that point that lady was not there, she had walked to the back. There was another younger girl working at the front desk, and I asked what the deal was bout all these people going ahead of us and why haven't we been called?? I showed her the regular sign-in sheet and asked, how come those people who have signed after me, have been called in before us?? Her reason was, "oh these people who have times beside their name, it means they have appointments". I'm like that's the regular sign in sheet and not the appointment one. Then she tells me, "oh sometimes people with appointments sign the wrong one". I told her I did the same thing and I was told to sign in the regular sheet. She looks in her paperwork and says, you guys will be next. I go back and sit down, and that's when that other lady comes back to her seat, and I heard her say something like, "I don't know why they keep getting skipped" or something in that context...Literally 30 seconds later, they call us in.. From my experience at this place, I don't recommend anyone going here, and I don't know what this lady has experienced in dealing with people, particularly middle-easterns, but not all people are the same!! DON"T JUDGE SOMEONE BY THEIR LOOKS! I am Kurdish, I speak fluent English, and have been living in the USA since 1991, and my daughter and son are born right here in San Diego as a US Citizens. I wish I had got her name so I could call that office and complain even more!! read more

I am truly terrified to have my blood drawn. The people here are so nice. Ermode is the phlebotomist who took care of me and she was so kind and understanding. She talked to me the whole time. She was cheerful, caring and made sure I was ok before I stood up. She got me a glass of water and talked with me until I felt steady. I am a perfectly healthy 60 year old woman who has a needle phobia, which I feel embarrassed about. Ermode took the time to let me know I am not the only person who feels that way. I went here one time with my mother. I must say I will definitely drive the extra mile to get better service next time. The lady at the front desk really must have hated her position. Good customer service? Yeah right. They know nothing about customer service. They make you feel so uncomfortable. Who wants to get their blood drawn.. Ten days after I had blood drawn, this location neither sent the results to the ordering doctor nor to myself. The girl who drew the blood had difficulty with the online system. I found NO WAY to contact the local office either by phone after trying to navigate their audio response system. The online contact form did not work. POOR customer service. read more

They did not have the necessary bottles for blood culture. Sent me to another Quest Lab that could not read an insurance card. They were unsure of where to send the results. It was clear. so had to go to another Quest lab, they also did not have the blood culture bottles. 4 hours of driving around town and waiting with my child that has pneumonia. Ridiculous read more

The lady with short blond hair at the front desk was very pleasant. She took me back right away for my urine sample. After my urine sample Laila made sure to greet me and steer me to a room to draw my blood. She was courteous enough to use a butterfly needle upon my request while explaining there is a possibility for blood clots since it was a smaller needle. She also explained to me what I was getting my blood drawn for. I will highly recommend this site and will come back every time I need my blood drawn. The part I loved most was how gentle Laila was with drawing my blood. I mean who likes needles anyway ? I was in & out in a matter of 10-20 minutes. I feel more comfortable here than the La Mesa location that I've always gone to. I'm surprised they have so many bad reviews , then again there aren't any recent ones. There wasn't a single thing I didn't enjoy about my visit, since I was not looking forward to it to begin with. read more

I feel silly writing a review for a blood lab but being that I hate needles and have to convince myself not to pass out every time I get blood drawn, I have to say the ladies here are really amazing. I made my appointment by phone for a couple hours later on the same day. The cute lady up front was friendly and efficient. The lady with volumous lashes was super nice and very gentle; she took 6 viles in a matter of like two minutes and I barely felt a thing! I had to go back for a fasting draw the next day. I made the appointment online the day before. I was seen, blood drawn, and out the door within 5 minutes. My phlebotomist even wished me a great day! Warning, warning, warning, avoid this place at any cost, do not go there, the staff is incredibly rude, my mom who is an immigrant who is now a citizen and has been working and paying her taxes since she arrived to this country, she went in, her appointment was at 7:30 am and she arrives there at 7:20 am, was told that she wouldn't be seen because she was late, keep in mind that she works full time mon-friday so this was the only time she could go in, she remained persistent and told them that she wouldn't be able to postpone her appointment because of her demanding work schedule, so they finally gave in and them they told her to log in at the computers, she has glaucoma and can't see at a perfect vision so she asked for help and they refused they said that she has to do it herself, she ended up leaving because no one helped, the staff made things impossible for her to stay and get her blood drawn the Asian lady and the Chaldean lady could not have been more disrespectful and unprofessional to her, I felt so bad when she called me to tell me what happened, I hope no one's mom or any other friend or relative has to ever go through what my mom experience this morning, if I could rate this place 0 stars I would read more

Besma is the best!! but every person besides her that works there is extremely rude and has the worst attitude something needs to be done about this place ASAP. People should not be sent here until they hire respectful workers. The African American lady with the hair in the bun wearing all purple was the rudest person I have ever dealt with. She thought it was a great idea to go on break while my brother had his turn next after waiting 45 min even after we scheduled an appointment it was just her attitude and how she talked to us made it seem like we took up her time and it was an inconvenience for us to be there. (Rolling her eyes, tone of voice, and talking back in a rude manner) Mind you my brother has autism and we had to deal with her attitude on top of that. I brought my son (11 years old) in for standard bloodwork (CBC, ferritin, iron panel). I paid cash expecting a discount comparable to going through an online lab like directlabs.com or privatemdlabs.com. These online labs will no longer provide service for a minor. I was charged $130+ more than these online services - as a cash patient using NO middle man! When I called Quest Diagnostics customer service, I was told discounts are up to the discretion of the local lab. Well, that is a local lab I will never use again, and I will make sure to tell my friends and family to never use them either. Poor customer service. read more
