Wow! Wish all medical visits could be as perfect as this one was today! I made an online appointment for this location and was given a 12:30pm slot. After reading the reviews, I was a little concerned as their office appeared to be closed between 12-1pm. (Turns out that they are open but only have one person scheduled to work at that time.) I had a 10am appointment at Hoag and since it finished up well before I expected, I decided to drop by Quest to see if they could possibly take me in prior to my 12:30pm appointment. To my amazement, I walked in to see an almost empty waiting room. The last time I went to the Quest in Anaheim, it was wall to wall people. I checked in on the computer and barely sat down when Maria called my name. We went to the back and I was literally finished in under 10 minutes. Maria was smiling the whole time, super pleasant, and drew blood without any pain.....well, other than the initial poke! I will drive out of my way to come to this location just to have Maria take my blood! Great job!! read more

Scheduling problems, poor attitude, not securing samples, no way to call to confirm if they got a work order (fax is not a reliable form of communication). This place is poorly ran, lacks process and the staff are always stressed out. Came in an hour early since my work schedule changed and I there is no way to call Quest. I asked if they could take me early, they said yes. I sat and waited well over an hour past my original appointment time. I could have gone and done other things if they said they couldn't take me early. Quest in general is sub par but I recommend a different Quest location if you are unfortunate enough to have to go to Quest. Ultimately Quest will be the catalyst for me switching to a doctor that can draw blood in-house. read more

Great experience! I made an appointment online to go on my lunch break (so limited time), got to the lab early and they took me right away. Took a total of 5 minutes and the gentleman who drew my blood was friendly and professional! Highly recommend coming here if you want an efficient and pleasant experience! read more

I don't ever really leave Yelp reviews but Danny over at this location is the best and kindest phlebotomist there is. I had to get a LOT of blood taken and he was with me every step of the way to make it completely painless and efficient. He even answered all my questions about billing and gave me so much helpful info. If you're super afraid of needles like me, Danny is the man. Will be going here always. read more

Normally wouldn't bother checking in, let alone writing a review at a lab test spot but the employees here were great. Had some rude patients come after me but each worker handled it with patience (no pun intended), understanding, and great customer service. They made sure to greet each patient as they entered and exited the facility and most likely had a smile under their mask. Would definitely comeback if needed in the future. read more

I would highly recommend family and friends to go to quest diagnostics but make sure to request Juvy. I could tell she was confident and experienced right away. I had a different phlebotomist at first. She had a hard time with my veins so she brought Juvy in. Juvy was friendly, the blood draw was fast, smooth and painless with Juvy. read more

It's a shame Quest is clearly not staffing this location correctly. The staff has always been very kind and patient and helpful however the last few times I have come here it is a disaster. The waiting room is full as can be and there doesn't seem to be anything happening in the back. Also there's a manager I think, a guy in his 30s or 40s, that is super rude to everyone. Asked her nicely if you could turn it down please she pretended not hearing me and I'm here been waiting since 9:20 for my 9:30 appointment but she keep saying doctors will be with you shortly and it's almost 10:20 now and I'm still waiting!! Please help I have work and they are aware of my appointment but never we thought it's going to take that long!! The front desk lady is ignorant and very unhelpful. Now it seems like they saw my review and quickly shoved me in and the front desk lady aggressively is the one taking my blood sample throwing empty blood containers on table sticking the needle in and out then saying your arm have to be completely straight (and my arm is relaxed and straight) then now telling me it didn't work I have to try the other hand,, where I am you think! The only reason for the 4 and not 5 was because I had to wait over 30 minutes with an appointment. They were really busy and not enough staff. I have had to get a couple of routine blood tests done within the span of a couple weeks now. I typically wouldn't review a place like this but I felt I had to; I have been to other Quest locations and this one blows them out of the water. It is a small office located within a fairly large (but not very busy) medical building off Newport Boulevard in Costa Mesa. Parking is always easily found right out front. I always make appointments online so that when I show up and sign in, I am then usually taken back for the drawing within a few minutes. It seems if you did a walk in here it wouldn't be a huge problem either; there are only ever a couple people waiting. There is only one woman that works here, she checks you in and draws the blood. She is the real reason I am writing this review (unfortunately I haven't caught her name yet). She makes this whole experience very easy and actually enjoyable. She makes an effort to have a conversation with each person that walks through the door. I could tell there were some regulars that came through and you could tell she genuinely cared about their well-being. She is also very skilled at the actual blood drawing process; which I think everyone will appreciate. Highly recommend you make this your new spot if you need some lab work done. It helps when someone can make an uncomfortable situation as easy as it can be. read more

They messed up one of my tests and had to have me come back to do it again. And messed up first needle in my arm vein and started bleeding. So had to prick me two more times to get it right then had to come back again. When I tried to call to see if they would still be open to go back. No answer after 5x calling and voice Mail said it was never setup. Mentioned to girl at front desk and she didn't even seem to care to get it working. read more

Came here due to great reviews and they were right. Nice woman that helped with check in. Efficient process. The guy taking the blood got my hard to find vein in one shot and right on the sweet spot to get the fast drain of bloods. I wanted to hug him for saving me from the trauma. Prior to my experience at this Quest location, getting my blood drawn was absolutely miserable. When I came here for the first time Renā changed my experience! She is the very best. I have tiny veins and I often am in pain, or even past out, but not with Renā! I am so grateful for her and will continue to come to this location to see her whenever I need a blood draw. Also, I forget her name, but the lady at the front desk is very sweet and even asks me if I need water prior to getting my blood drawn. This place is great. I've gone two times now for routine blood work and haven't waited over 10-15 minutes to be seen, even though one of the times was at 8am right when they opened (I assumed it would be packed, especially without making an appointment). The staff is very friendly, and Mark is who's drawn my blood both times-- very friendly guy with a great bedside manner, plus you don't even feel the needle go in. After seeing some nightmare photos/reviews from other locations with bruised arms, extreme wait times, rude staff..etc. I can't imagine I'll ever go to another quest location. If you live in the area and need bloodwork done, you're doing yourself a disservice by not checking these guys out. read more

I went to the doctor around there and decided to just complete my blood work at this location, which was a huge mistake on my part. There seemed to be only one person working. She was attempting to complete lab results. Therefore there wasn't anyone at the front desk. When she drew my blood she seemed to jab the needle into my arm. I told her that it was hurting me and it seemed like she simply put more pressure on it instead and jabbed the needle deeper into my arm. I was in pain the whole time. Once she was done, I still had pain for at least an hour or more after I was done. It still felt like there was a needle in my arm and my arm felt bruised by the touch. I definitely do not recommend going to this location. read more

Boo on Quest Diagnostics! Several of the offices used to be open on Saturday but now have been restricted to Monday through Friday only. Closed on Saturday! Not everyone can make it in during the week, Saturdays were very convenient especially if I needed to fast prior to giving blood. Come on guys, open your eyes! read more

I love Debra! She is nice and has excellent skills ( very light hand). Every time I met her she's been delightful! I have super tiny veins and she got it every time! I went to several other places and I was poked for more than 30 seconds to get my blood. With her, it's so easy! I love that she is calm and caring. Just like what she said "just a little pinch". ***************WARNING**************** One star given, as no-star is not an option on yelp. I had the worst experience at Quest Diagnostics at 1640 Newport Blvd, this morning. Not only did the technician confuse me with another patient, he actually began to draw the other patients blood. After realizing his mistake, he called me into the same room, asking the other patient to be seated in the lobby. The chair in the room was not sterilized between the other patient and myself (highly dangerous). Don't they understand the risk of infectious disease? Scary, to say the least. I attempted to alert the other technician/phlebotomist of my concern, only to be yelled at. She was extremely rude and condescending. Both phlebotomist' at this location seemed very distracted, uneasy and anxious...almost as if they were in a trance. The entire experience was strange and Extremely uncomfortable. I thought maybe I had been on a prank show with camera crew alerting me of the big JOKE, but that was not the case (If only that were the case). There are many other locations to have blood work performed and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND using a different facility, if you are able. Hope this saves someone else from making the same mistake! read more

I love it here. All the ladies here are super nice, I hate needles. But, they are gentle and quick. The lady at the front desk was very nice having converstations with the people in the waiting room. The girls at the front desk are less helpful than a door stop. My doctor was to have faxed orders to their location. When I arrived, they couldn't find the paperwork. When I suggested that perhaps they sent the paperwork to another location, I was told in broken English that "we can't ca there" Which is correct. Their phone system is designed to make sure you can't talk to anyone on the staff. My doctor swears they have confirmation that the order was sent by fax. Customer service? They've never heard of it.
