This is my favorite Quest location. Every phlebotomist I've ever had here is great. Ailanie (Ailani?) I'm probably spelling it wrong, but she is awesome! It's amazing to see how patient they are even when customers are frustrated and taking it out on the staff. The negative reviews seem to be mostly from people without appointments. Or people with appointments who come too early to try to get in and out early. Maybe make an earlier appointment next time? Anyway, if you need lab work done, go online, create an account, and make an appointment. They will treat you kindly and make it as painless as possible! read more

In all my years of getting blood taken at various Quest locations, my first time at this one and it was great. I highly recommend booking an appointment although they do take walk-ins. I got there about 10 minutes early and checked in via the kiosk. You have the option to wait in the waiting room or go into the lobby and be texted when they're ready for you. In the 10 minutes I waited, I saw 3 people who had appointments get seen and leave super quickly. My appointment was at 11:10am, at 11:11am I was called back. The woman taking my blood was really nice, she kept asking if I was doing okay, ect. Everyone I saw while coming and going was super friendly and welcoming. I'll always come here when I need blood work! Edit: I got my blood done on a Tuesday morning and I got my results mid Wednesday! I'm not sure if I was just extremely lucky but in the past with other Quests I've had to wait well over a week so that's a definite plus!! read more

Bad process. Came in to drop off and you still need an appointment to do so?! Came in at 12pm and the next available was at 3 or you can wait in a room filled with people. Not very efficient. I give one star only because the person at the front desk was nice enough to spare a min to explain the process. I understand if I'm giving blood samples but a drops off?! I needed some testing done and of course I scheduled online like I always do. They have a really good system where you can check in through the tablet when you walk inside or actually through the text message which is what I did. Checking in was so easy and they called me within 5 minutes. The employee was so nice. She had a hard time finding my vein but she was so nice and gentle about it which I appreciate. read more

I've only been here a couple of times, but each experience has been pleasant. I do my appointments online, pick the date and time. The minute I've walked, never waited more than five minutes after checking in. The technician was very friendly and was able to draw blood with no problem. Had a great experience at this Quest Diagnostics lab location and can't speak highly enough about two employees there, Valerie and Lien. Valerie was extremely pleasant, very helpful and caring, and recommended I come back the next day after fasting (my order didn't indicate to fast, but she spotted one of the tests that was preferred to be done after fasting). So, the next morning I returned when they opened, and Lien assisted me and was also the phlebotomists who drew the blood. Lien was awesome and made me feel so comfortable before and during the lab draw, plus there was great conversation throughout and even discovered so many things we had in common! And, she did a fantastic job with the blood draw ...so important! I was only in town a short time visiting a friend before heading back to my home in another state, so I was thankful to have such a great (and painless) experience at Quest Diagnostics! Just like any lab or medical/doctor visit, suggest making an appointment and whenever possible select first appointment when offices open. It's been my standard practice for years and works well for me. Quest is located inside the Hoag Health Center medical building on the 1st floor (to the left, straight back). This is the worst place for customer care. DONT GO TO THIS ONE. After checking in they just leave patients sitting in the lobby with no human acknowledgement and then just go home!!!!! One lady waited an hour after checking and the phlebotomist came out and said, "we're going home" I waited 45 minutes while they were in the back talking, and doing paper work. The good: Without an appointment I was seen in 45 minutes which is great for a walk in! The bad: Valerie my phlebotomist was not great. Cleaning the vein then touching my vein before the poke and not cleaning before needle insertion. Someone can be unprofessional but not keeping aseptic is not okay. read more

If you do not have an appointment don't even show up to this location. They will treat you like an animal and act as if you are a complete burden. They purposefully avoid taking anyone from standby even if they have available rooms and no one with appointments. I literally asked my phlebotomist if I needed to make an appoint for a drop-off of my 24 Urine sample. She blatantly told me no because it was just a drop off. I do my collection on a Thursday and come to drop it off the next day, the receptionist told me I needed an appointment. I explained the situation and she rudely told me I could get the next appointment at 3pm, mind you it was 11am at the time, or wait in standby. I waited in standby for about an hour until I left. It was ridiculous. The next appointment I could make was the following Monday so of course when I came in they told me they'll most likely reject my sample for not bringing it the next day. I told them I tried, and of course she told me well they have to accept the sample within 24 hours. What was I supposed to do?! So much misinformation I am not doing another sample. read more

I failed to make an appointment but the walk-in time online said 0 minute wait so I decided to go that route. Unfortunately, there was about 5 people ahead of me and I waited roughly 40 minutes before my turn. Definitely recommend making an appointment. I'm used to the service I usually get at my normal lab office but this place surprised me by all means with their friendliness. I had a great experience at this Quest Diagnostics center. (It is inside the hoag center). One of the cleanest ones I've been to, and very quiet too. I had scheduled my appointment online ahead of time and was able to check in ahead of time via texts sent to my phone and was very quickly assisted. Did not wait at all. The woman that drew my blood was very friendly and ensured I was as comfortable as possible. She checked my arms thoroughly to ensure she could find a good vein and was efficient in drawing the blood. I was in and out within 15 minutes. Would recommend this facility. read more

This has to be the worst of the worst when it comes to blood labs! They have a new sign-in machine that is "supposed" to collect your insurance info, driver's license, etc. BUT, it doesn't work right. Do you think the woman at the desk would simply look up your name and confirm your appointment, NO WAY. She calls a blood lab techician, the only one there, to come fool around with the machine -- which she also can't get to bring up the appointment. This place is one block from my house, but it will be a long time before they get my business again! read more

Very happy with the service I receive from this Quest location! I've had my blood drawn several times during my pregnancy and the staff has been super helpful. Lien has taken my blood every time and she is fantastic - quick and painless! The facilities are also clean and everyone practices social distancing during COVID. They are always short staffed and the front Asian check in phlebotomist is ALWAYS stressed out and overwhelmed. I had my lab work done yesterday at the Baker location. My veins were hard to find but Lien T found special equipment and I didn't feel a thing and she successfully drew the blood. And there was no bruising or swelling that I have experienced before. Office monitor check in worked on the 2nd machine. Horrible. The older Asian lady that works here here doesn't really pay attention. One time she somehow lost my insurance card (which was found later) and this time, she somehow didn't charge the insurance company correctly and I got billed for the whole thing. Not even sure how that even happened since I had to use their kiosk to take a picture of the card. Maybe it happened when she was "busy" texting while I was in the chair waiting for her to start the venipuncture . I had to contact Quest to clear it up. What a hassle. The other people working there seemed fine or else I would've used the lowest rating. Make sure to request somebody else to handle your paperwork and cards. read more

I booked abloodwork apt at 8:15am. I waited 30 minutes before they let me know "they don't have me in the system or on the schedule". The woman next to me says - that has happened here to me too. I had a very specific date (day 21 for a hormone panel) and a very specific time frame, only 7am-9am. Instead of trusting me, along with knowing this must happen all the time - she sent me home. Where I did in fact find my emailed confirmation of my apt, and it was in fact an error on their end. I will now have to wait an entire 5 more weeks to be able to do this again & get in to see my doctor. When it comes to health issues - front desk staff should practice more discernment, the place feels like a factory of robots. read more

First time they stabbed her arm 4 times before going to get someone who knew what they were doing to do it. She got it first try. Now we've gone for second they just couldn't seem to find a vain today at all. And while they were telling me I needed to hold her tighter, which I was already doing they were rude and condescending towards her. Needless to say they couldn't do it. Waste of time and energy. I have been coming to this quest since the beginning of my pregnancy. My child is now 2 months old and I was still coming here. Since my first visit, I would show up for my appointments and they were never on time. I tried to be understanding and would convince myself that they were just really busy. Well, the other day I came to this location to pick up a sample kit. The receptionist told me to drop off within 24 hours. I came back the next day to drop off and this is where the unprofessional side came out. The receptionist was very condescending to me and the gentleman in front of me. She spoke to him in such a disgusting manner that he stormed off and forgot his ID. She told us that we needed to make an appointment to drop off. I asked her why she did not mention this to me the day before. She raised her voice at me and told me she did. Very unprofessional. The sample was ruined because of this. She was also unable to find the doctor's order which she had seen yesterday and told me to call my doctor. I was in a hurry because I have a 2 month old that I needed to get to. Overall, she was very rude and because of this I will not be coming back. I would recommend others to go to the one on Warner in Fountain Valley. They are very friendly and don't snap at you when you ask questions. They also take drop offs without appointments. read more
