Location and Parking: - Easy to find (suite 101, first floor) - No treasure hunt here! - Plenty of parking - zero parking stress! - Open on Saturdays - that's always appreciated and a huge plus if you don't want to use your PTO from work. Waiting Area: -Spacious and clean -Very basic and very white..could definitely use some color (LOL) to warm it up a bit. All-white everything just seems too depressing. Speed and Check-in: -You will get a text reminder and it's super easy to check-in through the kiosk. They called me in at my scheduled time. I was in and out in 15 minutes - probably my quickest lab visit ever. Customer service: -The redheaded phlebotomist was sweet, professional, and calm. She made the experience completely painless. Worst place EVER!!! They schedule two people at the same time and you don't get seen after 30min of your appointment! I understand people have to take lunch but what is the point of making an appointment if you won't be seen on time. They need to have better time management. When asked the phlebotomist gave me attitude and in a sarcastic tone of voice asked if I see what number my mom was. There's never any management for you to file a formal complaint and no one is ever willing to help you. read more

Going to a lab anybody can ever experience. , no , prejudice, no communication, no manager in charge- when I complain about why I have to sit there for an hour and a half without any communication and their machine didn't registered me. They wanted to call security on me. Do not go to this location, do not go to quest. Worst experience of any healthcare ever seen in my entire 63 years of life. If you need a urine drug test, I HIGHLY recommend finding another place, especially on a Friday. The wait time here is BRUTAL. I drank a lot of water to be ready to relieve myself for this test. But when I arrived, I was told the wait would be VERY LONG, even with an appointment. This was not going to work out because I was about to pee on myself from the amount of water I drank to make sure I had enough urine for this test. Thankfully, I approached Ms. T Hood, one of the staff members, and she managed to get me in right away for the collection process. If it weren't for her ability to accommodate me, I would have had to come back another day or wait an additional three hours because I did not provide enough urine for the test. Truly only of the most intentionally poorly run companies out there. Nobody works at the front desk, nobody answers the phones, very intentionally so you can't ask questions. The only people who care are the employees, who are caught between their patients and incompetent management, by design of said management. Only go to Quest Diagnostics if you absolutely have to, otherwise avoid at all costs. read more

The fastest and nearest Quest location, which is also super convenient because it is within distance of Scripps hospital and other medical buildings, so if you have a lab orders from any of those places, you can take advantage of this Quest, although it is very hidden from the outside, you wouldn't know it's a Quest Diagnostics, I got lost and walked right pass it into the street corner of an apartment complex, but in fact it is in another building right on the first floor; walking inside it's bigger than a regular Quest and not super busy compact, even though you have a lab order from your doctor, you still have to make an appointment, if you don't have one, just have to do as a walk in, as the self service tablet always said it's completely booked up every time, and all you could do is pray you get in fast, lucky for us it seems the rainy weather made everyone staying home, and we got in just a few minutes as only a couple people were waiting in the lobby, so far so good we got out quickly. read more

If you are able to make an appointment online- weeks in advance it is great. Thankfully I am able to do this for my Mom. However this place is awful for elderly people or people who are not familiar witch technology, which unfortunately seems to be the majority of their customers. They cannot get any help checking in, or with any questions. I bring my mom often, and every time there is a ton of older folks who are completely lost because they can't get any assistance. Breaks my heart every time. I understand this is not staff's fault as they are most likely understaffed but this should be a major complaint to management and administrators. read more

I needed to get a drug screening done through Quest, and this was the closest clinic to me that allowed you to schedule appointments. I had no issues booking a next-day appointment online for 10am. I had scheduled my appointment here before checking the reviews on Yelp and Google Maps, and after seeing the reviews I had some nervousness going into it. But I am here to say that I had a pretty good experience at this Quest - check-in was really easy on their tablet in the waiting room and I was seen right on time for my appointment (on a Wednesday). My one big issue with this clinic is the difficulty to find parking - I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment and still really struggled finding parking in the lot. The nurse who helped me with my drug screening was really nice and got my testing done pretty quickly, and I was out in about 10-15 minutes! read more

I have a hard vein so I asked for them to put heat on it and the tech gladly did. She got it on the first try. I've been here 3 times and each time it's been a positive experience. I'll be honest and say that I was pretty nervous when booking an appointment here. I needed a drug screen ASAP since other places required appointments and I needed to get mines done within 3 days. I was able to call the quest diagnostics line and the automated recording was great and to the point. I was able to schedule a next day drug screening appointment for 7:50. My coworker says there's usually long lines so I got there about 7:30. Parking was fairly easy since I was there at an early time in the middle of a Wednesday. There was 1 person ahead of me already in the waiting room. Another person came by and I helped him check in on the kiosk. There was Spanish and English available. I was able to get him a same day appointment at 7:40 so he actually ended up being called in before me..... lol. Anyways, everything was done in a timely organized manner. I was in and out within 15 minutes, by 7:45! I would recommend giving this place a try in the early mornings. (Try going online/ calling to make an appointment first maybe?) I can see how this place can get busy though, there was a steady trickle of people coming in after me, but this place seems to be pretty efficient! read more

Extremely hit or miss. One walk in appointment you could be seen immediately, the next you could be waiting for 2 hours without anyone even acknowledging you being there. They have a reception desk but it's unmanned and checking in is done entirely through iPad stations. There's no one upfront to help confused older folk navigate the check-in process and most of the staff seem to literally hide in the back as it gets busy and more unorganized. read more

The system here is horrible. I made an appointment with their automated system for 3:10 today. After waiting from checking in on their tablet at the entrance, at 3:22 I asked when I would be seen and they said I never had an appointment scheduled. They need to provide real customer service representatives to create appointments instead of an automated voice. This is a waste of my time when I had to leave work early for this. I never leave negative reviews but this was awful. I was worried about miscarriage and wanting HCG levels. When I called their phone number, could not get through to a person. So on their site, it said that they did do hCG tests. Upon walking in, there was no one at the front desk. Just iPads. I decided to do a walk in and it estimated that it would take a 30 to 60 minute wait. I ended up waiting 90 minutes. When they finally called me back, I was told that I cannot do a walk in or pay out-of-pocket, I still have to have a doctor's referral. Maybe if there was a person to talk to with her on the phone or in person at the front desk at any point I would not have wasted my time. Absolutely infuriating. read more

Very poor customer service, knowledge on how to bill insurance, and lack of procedural safeguards practices. Female employee was rude, 45 minutes behind schedule right after opening, dropped item on ground put glove on to retrieve and then used same gloves to use needle to draw blood into viles. We have used Quest several times with same insurance and never a bill. Was told to pay over $200 today when asked to submit to insurance she became semi confrontational. Not a good image for company. Working in the medical field I have learned the hard way that fellow colleagues really need to choose a different field. I called this place to make an appointment, only to find myself listening to a machine and pressing buttons. Was not allowed to create any appointments for whatever reason. Automated voice system stated they opened at 7am. The website also stated the same information. I arrived at 6:45am only to find a big sign stating they opened at 6:30am. There was one woman at the front counter who just told me to "sign in there," while pointing to an iPad. Didn't even ask what I was there for, she walked to the back office and I sat down while I watched 2 other patients struggle with the iPad and not be attended to. I waited almost 30 minutes and was called by an African American young lady who was probably the only one with customer service skills. She did Inform me I was at the wrong building. So I pretty much wasted my time for nothing. This place is so stupid! On their website it never states that in order to have a drug test done for employment, you need to make an appointment. So I go in at 1:45 the latest since I know being a walk in may take a while. I go to sign in on the iPad and it states that drug tests end at 2:30 so I say they're going to take me in since I got here before that time. I wait until 2:20 hits and I'm starting to get worried that they haven't called me. Once I see that 2:30 hits a woman comes out to call another patient and I ask her kindly that I'm here to take a drug screening for an employer, she immediately cuts me off and says we stop drug screening at 2:30 and I say yes but I've been here since earlier you guys gave me a number, and she cuts me off again, " but did you have an appointment " , I told her no i walked in almost an hour ago and she rudely says , " well you need an appointment for a drug screening" (WHICH I KNOW ISNT TRUE BECAUSE IVE DONE THESE BEFORE AS A WALK IN) Im a bit irritated for how dry and rude she's speaking to me, and i say, your website doesn't say you need an appointment for drug screening that I can walk in. I travel the country for work and this is definitely the worst Quest that I have experienced. The staff is hostile, and unable to provide adequate customer service. This time I made an appointment, checked in, and waited for my name to be called. Ten minutes after my scheduled appointment-I walked up to the window and the woman said that I had to re-schedule another appointment. I guess they enjoy wasting peoples time, and not being courteous when someone that already has a scheduled appointment. This is not an isolated incident at this location, unfortunately. I would strongly suggest trying another location for any needs that you may have at Quest. They are just not customer service oriented people at this location. This is by far the worst waiting time ever. Waited over 3 1/2 hours just to provide a urine sample. I guess I should have read the sign as it said wait time is 2-3 hours.minimum. Ridiculous. There should be more places to do drug screening for work. Totally miss the Navy days where 300 people had to provide in 4 hours... Inside Scripps Chula Vista Hospital, this Quest is probably the closet one to go to since the Quest location in Mission Valley closed. But I have to warn everybody: do yourself a favor and make an appointment for this location because it is busy. As soon as you enter the first floor of this congested hospital, immediately turn right and there are two double glass doors that open into a waiting room for Quest Diagnostics. Now there are many different reasons why people come to a place like this for tests but a job offer is requiring a drug test, so this is where you go-especially if the potential employee is paying for it. The entire waiting room was crowded and there are two clipboards to sign in on. One is for those people who were cognizant enough to make an appointment. The other clipboard is for those who just walk in. I googled the toll-free number of Quest and just made my appointment over the phone but there is also their website where you can do it online. Beware: not every Quest lab location will offer appointments. Some-like the one on Third in downtown San Diego do not give out appointments. As it is here, the drug screen is urinating in a cup-not like that other drug testing place in Old Town that clips your hair. Parking is difficult in the cramped lot so I would also suggest getting an early morning appointment. I watched as people cruised the small parking lot of Scripps waiting for a spot to open up. The poor woman at the front reception desk looked pretty frazzled. For all the money this place makes from large corporations and the government for drug tests, surely they can afford to hire more people to help out at the front keeping all the waiting patients moving along nicely. read more

Yes the staff are not jolly and over the moon with excitement but my experiences over the last 15 YEARS have always been pleasant and if you bring a good open attitude, they give that back. About a half hour later I was called up to the front desk and told that drug tests now do t start until 10 AM. 10 AM came and passed and I noticed that my name wasn't appearing on the monitor so I approached the woman at the front desk and was greeted with great rudeness and provided no help. I then signed in again . This time my name did appear on the mi Igor but I had to wait an additional 20 mi utes. Went here because I been here before and never had problems. I came Saturday and was told to come during weekday to make appointment in phone or online. I came back Tuesday morning prior to my appointment and at the parking entrance the security lady was very rude and unprofessional. She didn't apologize and said to go to any location not knowing that I had to have a urine drug test done ASAP prior to my new job! First, the lady that's standing at the door was on her phone not acknowledging the people that were waiting in line for appts, two people randomly cut the line and walked right on in disregarding the big ass signs stating " DO NOT ENTER WAIT HERE " she proceeded to allow them to touch all over the check in screen and walk around the lobby and still didn't acknowledge the line forming outside the door waiting, she actually assisted these two random people that can't seem to follow directions especially with covid Jesus Christ. SECOND, my lab work clearly stated STAT I even reminded the phlebotomist that my results needed to be same day, keep in mind i came in at 700Am to ensure I received same day results, she acknowledged and promised that it will be taken care of immediately... guess what it wasn't? Turns out they never labeled my blood work for STAT. My blood work results were extremely crucial for today due to the medication I'm taking and now I have to wait an extra day to find out my results to know if I can proceeded with my treatment.
