This Quest lab on Telegraph Canyon rd. is excellent in many ways. Clean. Staffed with courteous, friendly, and professional workers. I was serviced by Brenda. She knows her job well. I did not even feel the needle insertion in my arm. She answered all my questions promptly with full attention. No tension. No anxiety. I left refreshed. The only issue I see about this lab office is that people fail to get an online appointment in advance. And the last 2 times I have been here, the room had 10-12 or so seated and waiting. I got my last appointment easily for just 2 days from the date I asked online. Easy to get the appointment done quickly online. Get that appointment and you also will be giving a great review. All quest are like this, no front desk to help or assist you. When you call the number for the office, its all automated. You cant get a hold of any sort of management to handle a situation. I had a girl on monday draw my blood, it was fine, no pain & quick. She was friendly but comes to find out she didn't do the whole order! The test that i really needed to know answers to she didn't draw the blood for! Then try to hide about they dont keep orders, when they scan them into the computer system. I am writing to formally express my concern regarding the extremely disorganized and unprofessional customer service I experienced today at Quest Diagnostic off Telegraph Canyon in Chula Vista. Having worked in a medical field for over 10 years and in customer service for more than 20 years, I have never encountered the level of neglect that my children and I experienced during this visit. My daughter's physician directed us to Quest Diagnostic office to drop off a stool sample. I arrived at 3:00 PM and checked in as a walk-in. The kiosk indicated an estimated 30-minute wait time, and at the time, there were only two other patients in the lobby. I returned to my car for approximately 20 minutes and, upon coming back inside, found the lobby empty and my daughter's name no longer listed on the standby screen. I re-entered her information as a walk-in, and again her name appeared with a 30-minute wait. While waiting, I could clearly hear multiple staff members in the back room laughing and discussing photos and social media, despite me waiting to be assisted. Additional patients arrived, and I continued to wait. At 3:55 PM, a male employee approached me and asked what I was waiting for. I explained--frustrated--that I had already been waiting close to an hour simply to drop off a stool sample. He stated that this was "the process" because I did not have an appointment. At 4:10 PM, another staff member finally approached us and asked again what we were waiting for. Once I repeated the situation, she escorted us to Room #2, where the drop-off was completed in less than a minute. This experience was unacceptable. A simple sample drop-off should not require over an hour of waiting, especially when staff are present and not actively assisting patients. The lack of communication, organization, and attentiveness demonstrated by your team created unnecessary frustration and reflects poorly on your facility. I respectfully request that this incident be reviewed and that appropriate steps be taken to ensure patients are treated with professionalism and efficiency. No patient--especially a child--should experience this level of neglect for such a simple service. I will never attend another Quest Diagnostics and will share this experience with medical staff at my daughter's doctor's office. read more

Please steer clear of this place if you need to do a test with Quest Diagnostics. I will say one good thing about it is that my phlebotomist was nice, but I have reason to doubt that she upheld universal precautions. Once I entered I noticed pubic hair and some dirt on my seat, so clearly the seat was not disinfected prior to my entering. She did not disinfect the site that she drew blood from either. I only noticed once I saw the alcohol prep pads beside me, and yet she didn't use them on my arm. I also had to give a urine sample but they gave me a little plastic water cup with no indication of a fill line and one of those plastic lids you'd usually use to seal sauces. I'm not even sure the phlebotomist changes her gloves between clients! This place needs some serious work! read more

Need to wait for 2 hours to drop my mom's urine sample since my mom's wearinf a diaper all day and it's hard to collect one. Plus i need to go back right away to my 90 year old mom coz she was left alone at home and needs my assistance. Sometimes be considerate. This place was a hot mess! I walked in and there's no receptionist to assist anyone! Only two employees on premises and they come call your name and take you to the back and no one to let you know if you even can get help or a spot without an appointment! Every one seems to have accepted their faith and just sit there . I had it after sitting there for two hours and seeing my name just show up on the screen but no movement or info so finally I googled a lab corp location a few miles away and I went there and was out done in 20 minutes. Not only did I get a receptionist that help me check in and assured me of prompt service, my result came the next day before i even had a chance to write the review!! That is what I call service! Actually all quest places suck. I go in for labs and urine samples. I think they are grossed out about having to collect urine samples. Every time i go to a location they tell drs i didnt do it. Even after i tell them i know there are orders for urine samples. They say no there isnt. I get blood drawn. No urine taken. Dr thinks im hiding something. I am not. They just dont want to do it. Why are they even hired to do the work if they are grossed out by it. This is the 3rd place that this has happened to me. I will not go back. If i do i will bring it in myself in a cup. Bunch of crap. Only reason im puttimg one star is because there is no minus stars. read more

Made an appointment online. Really simple. Arrived early and was required to wait 10 minutes prior to the appointment to check-in via mobile. There was a kiosk in the lobby as well. Short wait. Was assisted by "Brenda". She was professional and courteous. One minor issue was that the PA system was overly loud. It startled me in one instance. Do NOT GO TO Quest. This company is a JOKE! Yall should be ashamed, you guys have the gall to charge for this type of service? Thats theivery. First, their website allows to make appointments to an office thats closed, so I went in there and surprise that location is closed! No warning no nothing. Takes 2 weeks for them to release lab results to your provider so eveything needs to be rescheduled again. Second, I made another appointment at a different location. On the day their system texts me an online check in link. And tells me I'm all set, I'm checked in I should go inside the clinic and there is no need to check in anymore. Inside there is no clerk, they are running behind apparently and I wait 1 hour on a FASTING APPOINTMENT. Theres no signs or warning that says dont believe any messages that we send you about not checking in. I asked the phlebotomist there and they had the nerve to give an attitude saying "Well I'm telling you right now, you always have to check in" Oh wow my dude I couldve used that info when I got here on this FASTING APPOINTMENT!!!!!! read more

Five stars for Kayla! I get blood work done often and have had a difficult time due to the nature of my veins. I've had terrible experiences at different places but I took a chance at this location and I'm so relieved. She works hard and is so skilled at her job. She was able to find a vein quickly and get all the vials done quick. And she's so incredibly friendly too! Will be returning for all of my routine blood work. read more

Truly only of the most intentionally poorly run companies out there. Nobody works at the front desk, nobody answers the phones, very intentionally so you can't ask questions. The only people who care are the employees, who are caught between their patients and incompetent management, by design of said management. I had a female Lab tech started speaking to me in Spanish when checking in on the Kiosk. I explained I didn't speak Spanish and it somehow annoyed her. She had a mask on and mumbled something back to me in English that I could not make out. I was an hour early to my appt and noticed lobby empty several times and my name was the only name on the queue, yet I was not called until 5 minutes after my appointment. Male attendant drew my blood and left my arm severely bruised for over a week which I'm highly suspect about because I never had this type of bruising after a blood draw. Even if you make an appointment you will have to wait up to three hours is what a staff member said .. I waited 40 mins with an appointment .. I guess I was lucky lol . It's really unfortunate that this Quest is this bad. I like the convenience of this location being so close to home but definitely not worth the time wasted. I will continue to go to a further location after today for these reason... - I Waited 30-45 min for my appointment not including the time I came in. -Only one person in front of me and they were with the same two patients for at least 45 min each. -When a care professional comes out the patients aren't acknowledged or updated. -Instead patients are having to get up to get their attention. This quest really needs a receptionist to make the check in process smoother as I noticed a lot of people came in confused especially our elder folks. Lastly, I have to mention my personal experience with a male phlebotomist was not great. I had questions and all he could say was " I don't know, some of my co-workers like to go above and beyond to find the answer but I don't do that". Wow wow wow. read more

Had to leave and came back and waited a second hour, only to be told they aren't helping anymore guests because it's nearing closing. Understandable, but it's more of the communication piece in letting people know they may not be accommodated before waiting a full hour. Don't bother contacting the manager, Charlene. This place is very unprofessional. I had an appointment this morning and even got a confirmation for it this morning. When I get there they have a sign posted saying closed because the air conditioning is broken. They didn't even call to let me know and there were other people outside too with appointments and no one received a call to let them know that the office would be closed for the day. I have been needing to come 1-3 times a month since 2015. I have been able to appreciate the respect & courteous bx of the Phlebotomist team that works here. The staff although busy at times usually have a smile & take the time to find our lab orders & do our lab work professionally. One Phlebotomist in particular I tend to interact more with is Nancy. She is great at finding my veins, doing small talk to make me feel more at ease. She is a great Phlebotomist & truly cares about making sure she doesn't hurt us as patients. read more

Came here for lab work from my doctor. Made an appointment on the phone and preregistered. Arrived on time and was helped by this nice Filipina lady, I didn't get her name. Luisa called me in to do the lab work and I had taken a pic for my Yelp review and she said I wasn't allowed to take pics. I initially didn't see the sign where it said no picture taking but the way she said it was rude. She was like you need to delete that. Then I brought up that patient information is on the screen and I can see everything. Luisa seemed to not care. All she said was that because I knew hipaa then I should know better. I asked for another nurse and she said she wasn't drawing my blood. Told her I didn't want to. She was just rude. I was so shocked that someone who MADE A MISTAKE and didn't close her screen took it out on me. Another pregnant nurse took me who had slight attitude also but I just brushed it off. As I was in there doing my blood work, another screen in room 3 full of client information. As I stared and read all the information while doing my blood the nurse cared less. She saw all the information showing. I spoke to the lead Laila who didn't seem to care as much according to her tone. Then I spoke to the manager tiffani and explained everything. She was amazing and a great listener. She was apologetic and understood everything I was saying and said she would take care of it. I also saw there were other complaints about this LUISA girl. So it's just not me. She's rude. And shouldn't be dealing with patients let alone doing lab work. She even came back out when I was getting the manager number and was literally staring at me. And I'm like why do you keep looking this way. Like staring at patients trying to start issues. Unacceptable. This place can be in legal trouble for the amount of hipaa violations I saw and have proof of! read more

Take your business elsewhere!! They can care less whether you are seen or not. They only see appts. So if your a walk-in be prepared to wait a very long time. Apparently only 1 out of 5 ppl actually make appt (quoted by a tech who was speaking to another tech about ppl complaining about waiting). So if appts are made by only a few why are ppl waiting so long. However, we are no longer deep in the pandemic (so I don't understand why appt are taken before any walkins). If the appt is at 3:20 and a person walks in in at 2:30, not sure why we waiting on appt. They need to revisit this. As I stated just take your business elsewhere. If the people there don't care if your seen or not maybe no longer having customers will help. What really takes a lot of time is that the techs do their own admin and payment. They throw a kiosk out there because they are too cheap to hire someone. Do better cheapos!! You guys are quick to collect $$, but cant hire an admin person! People take business elsewhere, they don't deserve our business! We are giving corporations $$ while they r providing very bad service. Quest diagnostics. Where is the management here. How can you as a company streamline your methods. The flow here is horrible. The staff is slow and don't seem to communicate with each other or the patients. The front desk needs a permanent staff member to handle all incoming patients and field questions regarding appointments etc. This is a sad sad state for a "healthcare" service. I've never felt so in limbo getting these kinds of services. Also, making an appointment is a joke. I waited an hour before being called back. I'm hungry from fasting and feeling out of my mind. Luckily my sugar levels don't drop. But would your incompetent staff even know how to handle the situation if I did fall out?!? So me and my 4yr old was waiting until Luisa called me 7 mins before 4pm and said "I know you've been waiting but can you come back next time? Coz we have to process the last patient lab.." I was like wow..made us wait for nothing. She is really unprofessional. The technicians at this location are great! The office and computer staff are horrendous. I have been in twice recently and on both occasions the computers weren't working correctly. Most recently, despite having a written order and taking a copy of insurance card they billed some random insurance company which of course denied the claim. They are so disorganized I believe they probably billed someone else's insurance that day. They desperately need an office manager or front office supervisor to clean up this act. read more

I came here for a glucose tolerance test (I'm 8 months pregnant). I knew that I would have to wait a bit due to the nature of the test. I did not know it would be two hours an they would be drawing blood three times. When I made my appointment, none of this was told to me. Although the office is clean and everything matches, there is no form of entertainment in the waiting room. Not tv, no magazines, nothing! Also, there is a woman who barely speaks English and therefore is very hard to understand. When you ask her to repeat herself she cops a real attitude as if you're the idiot. I watched her do this with other patents as well as experienced it myself. I came to this location because it is less than a mile from my home.
