I came in after feeling very sick for a few days and was met with a condescending attitude. Whenever I asked a question, Stephanie seemed bothered and would respond with "like I said," when I was just trying to clarify and ensure I understood. She also told me I was "young and would recover fine," multiple times. I find this upsetting as being young is not a reason for my questions to be dismissed. If so, there should be lower copays for "young people." I calmly let her know how I felt and explained I came to her for her expertise not to be treated this way. This only made her more upset as she repeatedly stated " I don't know what you want me to say, I already apologized." Overall, Stephanie was incapable of listening to my medical questions, or my need to be treated with kindness, which I don't think it's much to ask for. She also let me know she was really busy and had many patients to see. I have a lot of empathy for healthcare workers and understand that this is a busy season. Nonetheless, I am still paying to be seen. If there is no room for questions during express visits, it should be advertised that you will not be allowed to speak.

Only one time did she see a doctor--twice she was seen by a nurse/NP who ultimately prescribed medications that are essentially over-the-counter (the same types of meds she had already tried), so her condition has not improved despite multiple visits. This isn't an emergency-room situation, but it absolutely is an urgent-care situation, and we left each time feeling like her symptoms weren't taken seriously or treated effectively. The clinic also seems short-staffed and disorganized. Staff did not appear aware of recent testing and we were asked to wait for things that had already been done the prior week. Today, even with no visible patient line, we still waited over an hour. I also overheard a staff member mention we'd been waiting a long time, and the response was essentially "not my fault, I wasn't aware," which reflects a communication breakdown. I'm leaving this review hoping management reads it and improves staffing, workflow, and communication so other patients don't experience the same delays and ineffective care.

I thought I would save myself some time by interviewing a doctor to determine if we were a fit. I was bill $600 for talking to a doctor for ten minutes! I asked for blood tests. They would not do the blood tests even though Medicare would have paid. I needed a couple of other testes that Scripps would not order. Guess what! Found a competent doctor that ordered the tests that Scripps would not order, that Medicare paid for, and found the answers I needed to heal an issue that the doctors at Scripps were to incompetent to find! Sharp, here I come! The difference between Scripps and Sharp was so different. I am now a happy Sharp's patient without rogue billing.
