Dear AFC Urgent Care,…read more On July 8, 2026, at 7:15 pm, I scheduled an appointment with Urgent Care for my husband, who had been ill for approximately one week with flu symptoms, including cough, congestion, headache, body aches, and episodes of sweating. The nurse or medical assistant--I'm not sure of his title since he didn't inform us--took my husband's vital signs without wearing a mask and was seen coughing into his hand. Additionally, he did not wash his hands before or after taking my husband's vital signs. My husband's vital signs were normal. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) examined my husband's ears, throat, and chest. She acknowledged his reported symptoms but did not report any concerns after completing her physical assessment and interview. She did not order or perform a nasal swab, draw blood, collect a urine sample, or conduct a chest X-ray. Instead, she performed an EKG, which was reported as normal. Unfortunately, my husband did not receive a diagnosis or prescription. He was advised to go to the emergency room for blood work and a chest X-ray. We believe that the care he received was inadequate and that the EKG was unnecessary. I had informed the NP that my husband had recently undergone a full workup with a cardiologist, which revealed no concerns. Additionally, my husband informed the NP that he had not and was not experiencing any chest pain.

The person who…read moretook my blood started on my hand( dorsal) even though i have nice vein in my arm(ACF) i told him i went to phlebotomy school and my arm has a easy vein. So i still let him blood on my hand and it really hurts i told him to remove it. And decided to go arm its an easy vein and still no blood coming out and his hands are really shaking. Another employee went ti get blood. Decided to go hand. It hurts alot but with blood now, the way rmove the needle hurts it catched my skin. The results they told me were normal. Take note: The way how they tie the rubber or tourniquet during blood work is very wrong. He tied it like a ribbon not the correct way like quick release. I am phlebotomist and its not suppose to be like that. When i got home i called and asked to send me the results. And they said results comes out in 1 day or more. Just wondering where did they get the answer to diagnose that everything is normal? But i decided to go to ER ( tuesday) urine test is abnormal, lots of blood work results are high and low. In short this clinic doesnt seem like have an accurate results. And incompetent employees. Im completely not satisfied on my visit here i should have just went to ER and not waste my time here.

She confined the options with her supervisor and we were happy with the care. My only suggestion is to add a better epoxy to the medical room we were in. It didn't feel very clean. The physical was only $40, and despite a busy waiting room, we were in and out in just 30 minutes. We arrived on a Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and walked out by 1:30. I have been here at 530 pm and walked out by 6. From entry to paperwork to physical. And I have excellent insurance! SB Urgent Care is opened seven days a week. Cash & card accepted. Opened in the evenings. No appointment necessary. I appreciate they are organized, affordable, and hassle-free. Although I come for the physical other patients were there for medical situations. The only drawback is that you can hear everything. If you have a sensitive situation, whisper or write it down. I am greatly pleased of this medical facility in the community that is accessible by bus, car, or your feet. "When health is accessible, lives are preserved ."

From the medical assistant to the practitioners. They have made what could be very stressful visits actually very pleasant. The only negative I have is that they Have fees for a lot of things I didn't think about. Needed some insurance papers filled out. $15 fee Follow-up phone call to see how kiddo was doing..fee( call was less than 5 mins) but that might just be our insurance not sure we have tricare. If it weren't for how awesome the staff if I would reconsider them and also my kiddo barely needs to see them aside from the usual check up.

They quoted us an hour and 45 minutes (that's to be expected due to flu season). The nurse provided us with a return card which enabled us to go back home and wait until our call number was "called". This made the waiting process more efficient and comfortable. Overall, the quality of care was superb! The nurse was super friendly and helpful. She offered to give my daughter a Gatorade to boost her electrolytes. And Doctor Maryann Betty was thorough and quick to diagnose. From start to finish we spent about 30 minutes inside the care room. Very pleased with our experience!

The spots are tiny, traffic backs up constantly, and getting in or out is unnecessarily stressful. Unfortunately, the parking is only the beginning. The quality of care at this location is extremely poor. It became so bad that I had to transfer my care out of this clinic entirely. I filed a formal complaint with the VA Patient Advocate's Office and also reported my former primary care provider and nurse to the Medical Board of California due to serious concerns about malpractice. If you need lab work, be prepared to wait up to two hours for a simple blood draw. Completely unacceptable. As a veteran with PTSD, this clinic environment triggers anxiety rather than providing care or support. This place has caused me more stress than help. Then I saw Dr. Sundaram who was even more thorough and had me take more tests/scans including optic nerve and cornea. She walked me through the results and went over my MRI with me, explaining what they indicated and next steps. She was factual and matter of fact, but also calmed my nerves a bit. The only reason this is a 4 star review and not 5 stars is because I had two appointments (field eye test then the consult), an hour apart. The second time I was 20 minutes early, checked in online then went to the front desk. The girl who helped me had no idea how to check me in and when I told her what Jackie did to check me in, she still looked lost and went and asked for help. Long story short, it somehow took 25 minutes for this to happen so instead of being early I ended up getting seen late. Dr. Sundaram was great and very thorough, and I would recommend her.
