First of all, never go there without an appointment. That said, my 8:00 appointment was on time. Their were 3 people sitting when I entered. The check in was fast. There were 2 people ahead of me at my time slot and another who was called before me not on my list. I was treated by Jazz who was polite and friendly! I barely felt the needle. I was out by about 8:15. Thank you! read more

On 07/14/2026 I went to this location on my lunch break to get lab work done as I had scheduled an appointment a week or so earlier. When I got there, the kiosk was having issues locating my appointment and getting me checked in. A Quest Lab worker named Jazz, who I had just witnessed help numerous people before me, politely came over to help. After 2 unsuccessful times of trying to help walk me through confirming my appt at the kiosk, she took my printout (I had printed out my appt's QR code & appt info) and told me to just check in as a guest and that she would honor my appt and call me back in a few minutes. As a customer service manager, I can tell you this is EXCEPTIONAL Customer Service, and this employee needs to be commended as such so she is encouraged to treat more customers how she treated me. read more

Seems that they overbook their appointments, if you work or pressed on time and expect to get out there at a decent time don't go here. The last two visits I arrived a little early, which was a total waste of time because they were over 30 minutes late on appointments. I then had to wait for a more experience phlebotomist because I'm a hard draw so I was there for over an hour and a half which included 15 minutes of me getting there early....but still. I have been here and been poked four times just to get my order filled so this last time even though I had to wait a long time for an experience phlebotomist, I only got poked once which was a win. Beware it's definitely hitting us here. I wouldn't come if you need to be out of here by a certain time. I've also noticed the last two times I've been there. There has been no parking as well, so if you wanna save some time and frustration, I'd choose another location or go to LabCorp. read more

Quest Diagnostics - Ugh - Laboratory Testing Near Me - Carmichael, California

Was sent here for a blood test. The location was easy to find and there was plenty of parking. I love their modern check-in process. I received a text that said I should check-in when I park. I then received another text to come on in as it got closer to being called up. The phlebotomist was great. I didn't feel a thing. She was speedy as she took a few tubes of blood. There wasn't a bruise or anything when I was done. Really convenient location and compassionate staff. read more

Excellent laboratory, the waiting area is clean, everything inside the offices is clean and sterile, the staff is friendly and pleasant, they saw me very quickly, my appointment was at 8:30, and by 8:35 I was already sitting inside the office. I will definitely come again, thank you guys! read more

This place does not accept walk-ins and we were only informed 45 minutes after we checked in and waiting around. Check-in is through a tablet. There is not an actual person at the front desk. This place is the reason why people prefer Káiser or UC Davis who can easily accommodate walk ins. This place cannot. In addition, good luck finding a morning appointment at any local Quest. All are booked out like a week in advance! Get your access together Quest and hire more phlebotomists! read more

The clean waiting room, clean/sterile lab procedure rooms and efficient digital check in kiosks are on point! Very comfortable aesthetics, very professional & well trained lab staff make for a calming/comfortable lab visit! Lab tech. Ms Thu expertly took blood from me and is was a pleasant experience! Very good staff ! I would definitely recommend Quest Diagnostics in Carmichael CA! read more

I purchased a $390 set of lab tests. I made an apppintment for 10:40 am today. (Friday). I went to sign in & was advised I missed my appt, so I made another one.. a "walk-in" I waited 2+ hours. Finally ,an employee announced that "walk-ins" would more than likely not be seen. I rescheduled for Monday. I had no idea how busy the lab was. To be honest, I was happy to see the expediency and efficiency provided. In this time of chaos, I salute Quest's ability to thrive,! read more

Absolutely pitiful. Never received an email to check in. Had to use the kiosk which wasn't working. Had to go in the back and get a lab tech to check me in. Terrible. read more

-0 stars if I could give! This location has the worst waiting time! If you schedule an appointment here make sure you plan on being here 1 full hour! read more

I'm pretty used to quest diagnostics being average at best when it comes to service, but I was very surprised very friendly staff. They are also very quick when it comes to walk-ins which I appreciate they do their best to also distract you if you get a little nervous when getting your lab test taken, which I really appreciated read more

The employees were all friendly and I like the quick and easy check-in process. I made an appointment online and only had to wait in the waiting room for maybe five minutes before I was called back. I was here to get some bloodwork, but they were not able to find my veins so I will have to come back another day which is ok, things happen. The employee that helped me was very nice and patient with me and fanned me when I was feeling dizzy since I do not do well with needles and blood. Now at least when I come next time I will be a bit more comfortable knowing that I will be taking care of. Thank you! read more

Wildly understaffed. Some middle manager at corporate decided that the customer experience doesn't matter, so appointments are booked almost a week out and walk-ins are nearly impossible. Completely unacceptable. I will just pay more in the future and use somebody competent like LabCorp. read more

Normally, I go to Sutter Medical Plaza Greenback laboratory, which I love! The personable approach there is in stark contrast to Quest Diagnostics. So I was dreading having to go Quest for a lab test, related to Mercy San Juan (Dignity Health). First of all: they basically don't take any walk-ins: (or let you wait for hours). and secondly, their online appointment system is a nightmare! Not very user friendly at all! But I was finally able to make an appointment and I have to say: the actual visit and lab draw went really fast and smoothly! You have to juggle the sign-in tablet in the waiting area: (no staff member in sight) but once you get through that process, the appointment was right on time! I was in and out in 10 minutes. (I still prefer my Sutter lab, though! I would rather wait a few minutes and be treated like a human being!! ) But just in case you have to use this lab: I asked the tech about their website. She pointed out that the online system does not allow you to AutoFill your information, and there is an option to call for an appointment. Good luck with that!!! read more

Today was my first experience with a kiosk host and it couldn't have been better ... except for their test notice coming too late. The kiosk was inviting and clear to step up upon arrival. Instructions were simple and clear. There was a fast check-in option and since I had an appointment, all I had to do was put my drivers license in the slot and I was done! Wow! As I sat down, a text came in that would have allowed me to bypass the kiosk, but it showed up right at the appointment time instead of in advance. I had barely sat down when they called me in for the lab work. The waiting room was full, so I had expected a long wait, but they honored my appointment and that made me so happy! The lab tech was so kind and took a perfect painless blood sample despite my invisible 72-yr-old veins! Thank you Quest! read more

Both my husband and I went to have bloodwork done yesterday morning. We found Quest Diagnostic very clean, helpful, courteous and right on time. Could not ask for a more pleasant experience. read more

I showed up after an ultrasound appointment at 3p.m., as a walk-in. I checked in at the kiosk (which I found to be highly efficient and easy to use). I waited 45 minutes, and was seen 15 minutes before closing! They were very busy, and I was so grateful they still called me up! Kimberly was so friendly and relatable, and had a great attitude about the workload, despite having things be so hectic near closing time. She did the best blood draw I've ever experienced! I hardly felt it...and secretly I'm a little wimpy about needles I would go here again (but I recommend scheduling an appointment to be sure you can be seen). read more

I'm 8 months pregnant waiting to get blood drawn. The computer stated it would be a 30-60 min wait for walk ins, which was fine. However I've been here for OVER 3 hours and got some BS response when I asked about the wait time. Doesn't matter that a different walk in who arrived AFTER I did was seen before me? Do not recommend, would give 0 stars if I could. read more

This is my first visit to this Quest Location. I was a little reluctant to change but I moved from L.A. Where I went to the nest location in the world (in my humble opinion) I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised. I made an on-line appointment, and arrived about two-minutes after my appointment time. There were a few people in the waiting room and a couple of people waiting outside. When checking in on the monitor in the lobby - it offers you the option to be texted to your cell phone if you're waiting outdoors. I chose to stand in the uncrowded lobby with all masked individuals well spaced out. I was called in about four minutes. I went in to the cubicle where Lana was the phlebotomist assisting me. First, I told her that I had been notified by email that I had a balance due on my account. She took down all the necessary info, and with my insurance card and credit card she took care of that in a couple of minutes. Then it was time to draw the blood. Lana is an expert at this. It was quick and painless. She put the little gauze pad on with the tape, thanked me and I was on my way. I was in and out in about 10 minutes! I will definitely be back to this Quest. As an added benefit this Quest happens to be almost next door to Noah's Bagels. So after fasting - you know you're hungry and want some food - WOOHOO! Grab a Bagel Breakfast Sandwich and a coffee to relieve the hunger pangs that have bothered you all morning! read more

No matter of having an appointment I still had to wait 30 mins just to drop off the specimen. Also, Quest needs to hire more workers to prevent backlogs in the waiting room. very long procedure to drop off the specimen, that needs to be streamlined and have an option for a fanily member to drop off the specimen as well read more

I was super nervous to come to this location because of the awful reviews, but since it was closest to me I gave it a shot. I made sure to make an appointment a few days before and fill out any additional information. The day of, I checked into the Kiosk 10 minutes early and was seen within 5-10 minutes! I think my Phlebotomists name was Angie. She was super nice and made me feel at ease. The whole process was quick and easy. I was in and out within 5 minutes! If you don't have an appointment, you definitley may have a wait time, so make sure to be prepared before hand! read more

Even with an appointment, I had to wait 1 hour because they can't get with the program, what is the purpose of an appointment, these people are inconsiderate of other people's time, if I wasn't fasting I would go somewhere else. read more

The staff here was great, so that's why there are stars at all! It's not their fault the company is disorganized. As both a clinician and a patient, I am not a fan of Quest. There are many reasons, but I'll just focus on my latest encounter. I had a short window in which to complete a drug screening. I called to make a appointment but was automatically directed to the national 1-800 number, and the recording did not list any appointments in my time frame. I attempted to reach a live person, but the recording told me that there there ARE no live people. The website, also, was unhelpful. I finally decided to just show up in the morning and hope not to wait too long. After signing in and waiting, I was called back and handed the employee my paperwork. She told me that drug screens ONLY take place 12-2pm. The employees were apologetic and said that they weren't sure why the website hadn't been updated. After replanning my entire day, I came back at noon and was taken back after about 20 minutes, the test itself only took about 5. If the website or phone lines were more updated, the office would run more efficiently! And those of us with tight schedules would be less pissed off! read more

It was very clean. The staff is very friendly, helpful and informative. I would highly recommend this as another place to go for Quest. .

Totally rude and understaffed .automated system doesn't work No morning appointments available Terrible. Go somewhere else read more

Why bother listing phone numbers for individual locations when no one ever answers the phone? Do they realize that their phones are all forwarded to some location in Florida? So unprofessional. Even our doctor's offices are telling us not to go to Quest locations that are not located in their own facilities. So instead of going to a Quest location that is very close to us, we have to make an extended long drive to go to the one that's located inside our medical group's building. read more

Terrible. Rude. My doctor sent me to a quest for blood work. I went to one quest and since they were full of patients they sent me to this one. And they turned me away. She didn't wanna hear what I had to say. She just said I needed an appointment. And when I asked why they would send me here without any appointment. She had no answer she just wanted me to leave. After driving around all day I was not happy. Never going again. read more

Came here for employment drug screening but turned away. I was too early. They have a schedule of 12pm-2pm only. I wish it was on their website or better when you register the confirmation should have included that info. Tried to schedule an appt. but their scheduling system is not working. Came back after 12pm. Checked in The receptionist could barely speak English but managed to check in waiting for more than 35 minutes... Nice office but service lack luster. Oh yeah, there's a water stain on their ceiling next to and above the reception area. Gross looking. I would avoid this place but if your future employer selected Quest then you are SOL. Deal with it. read more

HORRIBLE. They didn't take me in after checking in for the 12-2 drug screening test. Because I took too long to come back after they called me. I WAS NOT TOLD HOW LONG IT WOULD BE, and they're was people waiting outside. Short asian lady, said she wouldn't see me because she was taking another person. Bigger mexican lady came out with attitude saying I was late blah blah blah. I asked if I can re-sign in and the front desk (only decent one) told me "they're not going to see you." I'm assuming they're the only techs and there for based off their attitude with me she knew they wouldn't. NOT BECAUSE THEY COULDNT. But because it was a personal choice. Very unprofessional. Save your time. Go to another location! read more

Went to the fair Oaks/Carmichael quest to have a Lactose test, I haven't eaten anything or drink anything since yesterday preparing a day of testing. I bring my grandmother here to get some bloodwork done every once in while and today. We waited an hour and a half to get blood drawn and they chose people out of order. As they were getting close to closing they started busting people out and getting the blood drawn. They are very slow and don't seam to know what they are doing. I would recommend not coming here I came back with my grand am a second time and we've been waiting for an hour already and it's getting ridiculous. I understand appointments come first, but it's crazy that the board is just for when paperwork gets entered into the computer. I'm not impressed with this place at all. It's very slow. I work in a veterinary clinic and most people don't wait this long for an appointment or even a walk-in appointment. read more

Giving them a two because the gals who work here are NICE!! So friendly in amongst what I am assuming is a pretty frustrating place to work... this place is a hot mess in a beautiful wrapper. On to the actual review. Why give times when they don't actually mean anything? Watched a gentlemen's time say 6 minutes for over 40 minutes). How can you expect someone to hold their urine (when prepared ahead of time) for over an hour? I'm writing this still waiting. Been here over 1.5 hours... for a pre-employment urine test. Like you pee in a cup and leave... right? Well not if you come here. So good luck to you if you are mandated to come here (I didn't have a choice of locations) and I hope you have a strong constitution and bladder (I didn't!!) read more

Horrible service!!! I was suppose to get a blood test for my newborn and it was urgent. My doctor said to go get a blood test and I went to this location. When I came in there, it was very disgusting inside and their kiosk doesn't even work right and I couldn't scan my card. The old rude lady came up to me and said "can you see it? It says skip it and WAIT". Then I had to sit down and wait about a whole hour. They were so understaffed and only took one person at a time while there were 5 people in total in that place. That Asian lady told me that it would take longer or sometimes not even take their customer in and could decline your service. How do people even are allowed to get these type of jobs yet they don't have the same respect to their own clients. I was so upset I started in cry in my seat after they gave me a hard time and I left the building to the other nearby quest which were more professional and had more respect to their clients and took about 20 minutes to take me in unlike the other, I would recommend you to go there but not to this trash. Save your time and go to the other nearby in Carmichael. read more

So I got a new job that required drug screening and I had to go to quest Diagnostics this place has no type of urgency be prepared to wait up to 30 mins just for them to take your ID and get some info on paper then you have to wait an additional 45 mins to do the actual test even if you have an appointment you're going to be waiting 30 mins plus read more

Woman was extremely rude and denied a roomful of patients due to her not wanting to do her job, then told us all to go home (we waited 20 minutes for someone to come out). The elderly couple before me needed assistance and she told them to go online to figure it out (they were 80+ years old, you work in the health industry and this is your attitude??) lazy lazy lazy this is how people get sued. The woman's husband said he had tried to call and no one picked up, she said that was normal and shrugged it off. The woman cried leaving due to her health issues. Once it was my turn she told me she didn't have time despite it being 2:00, and then told me I didn't have any lab requests, yet I went to a lab down the street and they brought my info right up. She clearly just doesn't want to do her job. Oh and they don't have anyone to help you, you sign in on a computer and hang out like an idiot until some bitter half-nurse comes out fuming, I had to help the couple before me with the computer because the scanner hardly worked. Hostile employees I would never go back. This was on 9/9/22 for whoever employed this horrible woman. read more

They are not clear when it comes to making an appointment. You can't make an appointment for drug test which is between the hours of 12-2 pm.
