I had a very disappointing experience at AIMS Urgent Care. Before arriving, I completed my registration and insurance information online because I wanted to be seen as quickly as possible. When I got there at 6pm, I was asked to fill out additional paperwork, and then I was told they didn't accept my insurance--even though I had already submitted it online and everything appeared to be approved. The nurse who took my vitals seemed rushed and inattentive. She had trouble getting my temperature to register multiple times. I overheard her tell a coworker that the thermometer wasn't working, but instead of using another thermometer or trying a different method, she recorded my temperature as 98°F even though I had been running a fever since the night before. That was very concerning to me. Both the nurse and the doctor were dismissive throughout my visit. When I tried explaining all of my symptoms, I felt like neither of them was really listening. The doctor spoke very quickly, spent very little time with me, and ordered a rapid strep test. While I waited, I could hear staff at the front desk laughing and talking while I sat in the exam room waiting for results. Instead of the doctor coming back to explain my diagnosis or answer any questions, someone from the front desk came into my room and simply told me I was free to leave and that my results would be emailed to me. I was told I would be prescribed antibiotics, but no one explained what medication I was receiving or discussed my diagnosis in person. I was also told my prescription would be ready in about 40 minutes, but it wasn't available until around 9:00 p.m. The following day, I called to request a doctor's note because I was still very sick. I was told they could only provide documentation saying I had been seen, not a note addressing work restrictions. Given my symptoms and diagnosis, I asked whether they could provide documentation supporting time off while I was contagious, but they declined. I also asked if they could email the note since I was ill and trying to avoid going out again, but they refused and told me I would have to come pick it up in person. Overall, I left feeling unheard, dismissed, and frustrated. My concerns weren't taken seriously, communication was poor, and the level of care I received did not meet my expectations. I was told they only refer out. to I asked if I could get a referral and an X-ray today? her response was"yes". I was admitted into the walk-in waitlist and it took about 25-30 minutes for them to see me. The ladies at the front desk were very nice and helpful, but I don't know what the problem was with the doctor that saw me personally. I was experiencing nausea and other terrible mysterious symptoms, and they didn't even ask me if I was pregnant or what even type of medication they were prescribing me to go pick up. I was just given a shot in my butt and was scooted out without feeling like we got down to the root problem. It felt very rushed and I think some assumptions were made on my behalf because of my sex as a woman. UPDATED REVIEW: just went into this urgent care again today and I had a MUCH better experience with Oni the on-site medical doctor. This sweet man actually listened to my problems and gave different diagnoses and even gave me a pregnancy test! I called them they said wait time is 30 to 40 min, drove there filled up quickly the forms and whoever came after me their names was on the list after an hour I asked why my name is not on the list and there was like 9 person on the list, they said they have appointments, then why you didn't tell me that I can make an appointment. Horrible customer service I was standing by the desk the employee on the phone 10 min and they don't even know that you can put a person on the phone on hold and answer the person standing by the desk first. I had a very disappointing experience at AIMS Urgent Care. I came in extremely sick and was told multiple times that I was "next," only to keep waiting longer and longer. After a long wait, the staff said the provider was going to take lunch and that I would need to wait another hour. If a provider is going on break, patients should be informed honestly instead of being told repeatedly that they're next. When someone is feeling very ill, this kind of poor communication and lack of consideration is frustrating and unacceptable. I left feeling ignored and disappointed. I will never come back here again and would not recommend this urgent care to others. read more

I have been with this clinic for more than 8 years. Their rating is not so great because there is no one in charge in this office. They have always been in small motion mode. The last episode is that it is taking them 2 weeks to request a preauthorization and still they are yet to send the paperwork and every time you call them, they either blame it on the insurance company or the pharmacy both of which have contacted them and said that their office is not submitting papers for pr-auth. I am reluctant to switch doctors because again all my records will go haywire. No one is held responsible and accountable for a 71 year old chasing his very ordinary medication which is very important to me but they dont care. If you are just wanting to join, Dont. Therefore, I couldn't make my 9 am appointment to establish care. I had to cancel. When I called to reschedule, they told me I would have to find a new doctor...they denied me care. You can just tell the place is very unkept. I think they would seriously benefit from hiring a janitor. It's not the end of the world just off putting. You can tell no one does much here. No cups for water, no toilet paper in bathroom etc. The staff in the front look like they hate it there and sound so pissed off. It really doesn't look good. I went to Aims on Howe Avenue after I was bitten by a tick that had embedded itself in my arm. After watching the doctor come into the office carrying his lunch bags, I waited while I assumed he was eating. He could have had a 12-course meal given the time he took. Then I waited some more. After all the waiting, his staff told me it would be 1-2 hours before the doctor could see me and suggested I go to the ER where I could probably be seen sooner. All the time they were telling me this, the doctor just stood by watching and didn't seem to be doing anything. He certainly wasn't seeing any patients. I went to the ER and got no medical services from Aims. Still, Aims billed me and my insurance for "medical services". That's all they put where they were supposed to describe the medical services rendered. This is the first time I've written a negative review about a business, but the rude way I was treated and then billing me for doing nothing caused me to take the time to let others know. read more

Excellent care! Dr. Robinson is very thorough and knowledgeable. He genuinely cares about his patients' health. The front office staff is friendly, caring, and welcoming. Honestly, I wouldn't mind if this was my regular clinic! Dr. Robinson took the time to run the tests necessary to properly diagnose me and set me on the path to healing. He also took the time to help me understand what was going on, which meant a lot to me! Due to a previous misdiagnosis from a different place, I had been suffering for over a month, trying to "ride out" an infection! I needed antibiotics, which Dr. Robinson prescribed, and I felt better within 2 days! That was a lot of time lost to misdiagnosis and wrong treatment. Thanks to AIMS, I feel good a week later and am getting things done again! I really would love for this to be my regular physician! read more

I've been to AIMS Urgent Care a few times, and it's about what you read from the other negative reviews on here. The doctors, in my experience, are solid, the front office sucks and the medical equipment is sub par. Most of the time I can look past a poor front office if it doesn't impede my accessibility to the doctor. On 4/1/24 (let's call it "The Last Straw"), I scheduled an appointment for my daughter, as it was going to be a few days before her primary could see her. So I hopped on AIMS' website to make an appointment -- scheduled for 7:14 PM. Here's the play by play: - 6:45ish: Got a text saying to show up 20 minutes later because they were running behind schedule. Okay, that's fine. Our new appt time would be 7:31 PM - 7:10ish: They sent the pre-appointment notification saying to get there 10 minutes early. Cool, that's what I assumed. - 7:15ish: Was about to leave at 7:15, and I got another text saying that they were running behind, and to show up a 20 minutes later. Okay, so that puts the appt at 7:51 PM, with a 10 minute early arrival time of 7:41. That's fine. Since we were about to head out, I figured my daughter and I would go ahead and head over. Maybe they could get us in a little earlier, but either way is fine. - 7:30ish: Walking up to the door, there's a piece of paper taped to the door saying they're not taking any new patients. Okay, that's weird. They close at 9PM, but I guess they're gonna wrap up a little early. To each there own, I'm glad we made an appt. - Still 7:30ish: My daughter and I walk in to an empty waiting room and immediately we are met with "We're not taking anyone else." I told the people at the front desk (there were like 3 clerks and a couple of nurses just hanging out) that we had an appt. They looked befuddled. I told them when the appt was for (I mis-spoke... I told them it was for 7:16PM when it was actually 7:14PM, they DID NOT like that I told them the wrong time by 2 MINUTES... strike one against me -- er, my daughter, I guess?). The front desk clerks found the appt, but we were late? Somehow? I could see them reviewing the same text thread on their computer screen that had been sent to me. I told them I wasn't late according to the texts that they'd sent me, and that we were, in fact, early. They said, the texts they'd sent ACTUALLY said to show up 20 minutes early for the appt. ?? !!?!!?! (Yeah, nice, I'm sure patients like having it implied that they're stupid by someone CLEARLY can't read the texts that are sent out by their system on a regular basis. Good one. Anyway, strike 2 against my daughter because her dad has sub-par reading comprehension skills.) Okay? So I asked them if they wanted to see the texts I'd received, because they definitely said to arrive later (They're attached below if you're interested). They said no, they could see what was sent there on their own screen. They then told me the doctor wasn't taking more patients (Strike three because we chose AIMS -- a mistake I won't make again). I don't make scenes in front of my kid. I'd made my objection. Clearly they didn't want to help us, so we left. - 8:10ish: Laughably, I got another text from them saying to show up 20 minutes later because they're running behind. Maybe spend a little more $$ and get better staff & software? I don't leave negative reviews, this is actually my first. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. BUT when patterns start to emerge AND the culmination of those patterns is turning away a sick 6 year old that you've ALREADY AGREED that you're going to see, something needs to be said. This is a very lazy doctors office. I am their patient and after having a procedure done by a doctor who I can no longer go back to, I came in for care. They refused to provide that care and refused to refer me to a doctor who would. Also, the office staff are very grumpy. I was told at one appointment that I had to wait extra time since I came in only 5 minutes early and not 15 minutes early. One doctor at this facility seemed like she was senile and I had to ask to switch to a new one. The doctors are also revolving. I get assigned one doctor, they leave, then I get a new one. Each time to refill my meds they make me come back in to see the new doctor even though it's the same office. Do not use this office. They are unethical and unprofessional. read more

HORRIBLE establishment DO. NOT. COME. HERE. After waiting 2 and a half hours to been seen for my stye (eye infection) then doctor looks at it for maybe 10 seconds and prescribed eye drops and a gel without looking into any interactions they may have with my current medication which I wrote done every prescription I was on and dosage. Thank god I always check before I take ANYTHING myself and to my surprise there is severe reactions to the antibiotics he had given me. Just got out of being seen here and my review is specifically for a ONOFRE AYROSO, NP. Came in for pain in left breast due to new lump. He came in the room and told me "sit here (pointed at the bed) and you're going to have to get undressed" as he stood there (with a woman nurse beside him so there's that). Imo, proper bedside manner is that you tell the pt to get in a gown prior to seeing them, not just tell them to get undressed right in front of you. Felt around for maybe all of 5 seconds and said it was benign and noncancerous. Did your fingers tell you that Mr. Ayroso???? When I indicated I wanted further testing done to be sure, he was confident it wasn't any more more than a benign mass but ordered a referral anyway, reluctantly. After he was done examining, there was no gesture or anything said to indicate I could put my clothes back on so I asked. It was such a bizarre and unprofessional experience to be in as I work in healthcare and would never hope a pt to feel this way. In addition, he completely diminished my pain and said it wasn't "real". When I told him my pain is real to me, he rolled his eyes. It's not like I was asking for pain meds, just reporting what I felt. I would not recc this urgent care unless you're ready to advocate heavily for yourself. The receptionist, a young Filipino girl, seemed like she couldn't be bothered to care. If anything positive, the nurse, a Hispanic young lady, was very sweet. read more

Their hours are listed as 8-9PM. I drove about 30 minutes to get to this location because they had decent reviews. I arrived at 8:32PM and was told they took their last patient at 8:30PM. At that point nothing else was open and I had to resort taking my wife to the ER instead. I think it's very much common sense that you don't list hours that you are not taking patients. If you take last patient at 8:30 then it's 8-8:30- how is anyone supposed to know when you take your last patient? Tribal knowledge? read more

This was my first visit to this place. I only went for confirmation of a UTI and get some antibiotics. I made and appointment at 4:11 pm. I arrived 20 min early like they asked, There was one patient only and then about 20 min after a walk in patient arrived. I was put in a room at 4:45. I heard the staff put the patient that came after me into the room next to me (thin walls). The Dr then went to him and talked to him and gave him med refill like her asked. At 4:55 a medical assistant finally brought me a urine cup. then I waited another 20 min before the Dr finally came to talk to me. He confirmed my UTI ( which I knew) and said he will get my meds sent to my pharmacy on file. My appointment was finally done and I left around 5:40. As I left I as the front staff if I needed to sign or anything and was told no. I drove the my pharmacy and they said there was no orders yet. So I waited another 20 min and still nothing. I called AIMS at 6:21 and I was informed that the DR had not discharged me out of the system yet so I needed to wait another 30 min or so for the meds to get to pharmacy. I was frustrated and asked to please discharge me now so I can get me meds and start feeling relief. Finally the pharmacist go my order and I left at 6:45. I feel a UTI test with appointment should not take over 2 hours especially since there was only 2 other patient and the man after left before me. The front end staff girls where mostly talking and laughing when they could have done more. They need to work on time management, professionalism, and sense of urgency . read more

If it says 9:00pm then that means 9:00pm it doesn't matter if you leave after 9:00pm your business owner has posted hours of operations for a reason and you selfish individuals locking doors after 8:00pm to leave by 9:00pm on the dot disgust me. Perhaps you are all working in the wrong industry if you care more about yourself and going home then making sure you are working your POSTED BUSINESS HOURS that are online. after being told that there was going to be a wait for like an hour or so I explained to her that I'm in a wheelchair lady I can't. I can't wheelchair for an hour. I just wanna know if I need to go to the ER room and have lots of stitches or just a couple of stitches and then there's another clinic down the road. I said I was denied service. This is after she told me that she takes my medical information since I have dual medical coverage or something. within a couple minutes I should show you have somebody look at this within a normal wait time to see if I need to go to the ER room she said no I said so are you telling me you did not service she said yeah I said so you're denying me medical treatment that's going to be very bad for your review. Now my provider was disgusted with the service that her client has received.
