I am a patient of the sleep medicine clinic, and I cannot recommend them any less (if negative stars were possible, I would assign them that!). Since being seen by Dr Nguyen at the very beginning of June, I have had nothing but hurdles to overcome in terms of trying to seek care for my sleep (or lack thereof) issues. Dr Nguyen recommended a sleep study at our appointment and referred me for such. The first referral was denied because of improper filing in her behalf, and it took over a week of calling daily AND messaging through the portal to have the referrals resubmitted properly. Then, the second round of referral was denied and I was told it was because she didn't complete a peer to peer consultation with my insurance. After calling to speak with the doctor on Monday, I was told by the office that she would be contacting me by Wednesday to discuss what happened with my referral. It is now Wednesday, and guess what! Still no word from the office or the doctor. I have also had multiple messages sent on my behalf from the sleep lab where the study should be taking place, and from the patient relations department. AND, because of the nature of this study, I am required to keep a log for two weeks prior to my study and be off of my medications for those two weeks before I can even do the testing. This, combined with the fact that referrals take up to (and usually max out on) a full two weeks to process, I am looking at a minimum of another month before I get any answers. Truly do not schedule with this clinic or provider if you value your sanity or if you are actually looking for a caring team to help you with your sleep issues. read more

This place is very clean. Everyone we ran into was friendly and helpful. Specifically we delivered and spend 5 days and recovery in the NICU. Nurses were amazing!! Understanding, caring for our baby, happy to explain every step of the way. Special shout out to Head Nurse Ashley (sorry I forget the rank name. Super caring and patient individual! This clinic used to be stellar, but they keep losing great doctors in favor of impersonal, unhelpful doctors. I moved offices after one too many mess ups and lack of adequate response. If you have a choice, consider a different option. read more

Scary when Yelp says you are a regular at a Drs office. Dr. Blinder and her staff are always very friendly, fast and explain your treatment options in a way you can understand. I sometimes have to call same day and I am able to be seen when needed. read more

BEWARE UC Davis Medical Group billing practices. They have repeatedly in the past coded my visits as "diagnostic" instead of "preventative" and I have had to chase them down to fix this. If you are unaware, the problem is that insurance generally requires you to pay your deductable before it covers diagnostic procedures, but will cover preventative procedures without a deductable. My last visit they coded as diagnostic and refused to change because my doctor had me take a blood lab (standard) BEFORE my appointment. Never mind that I had no complaints, no symptoms, and was only coming in for an annual exam. Unfortunately for me, Dr. Chen has retired so I can't even reach the doctor that saw me! It's almost funny that I only went to an annual checkup because my insurance company wants you to do preventative care. Bottom line is that I would avoid this medical group unless you know how medical practices and insurance works and are willing to spend time keeping them honest. If you already go here, check your billing carefully! read more

Absolutely Insane. I'm 60yo. I'm disabled. I'm on Medicare. I currently have an HMO through my wife and this place won't see me until I drop my HMO. I'm on pain management so dropping my current bs doctor would make my situation worse than it is, IF, UC Davis decides they don't or won't take me on. read more

My first review of a doctors office how exciting is this! So honestly I hate going to the doctor there is never any good news and you always have to wait super long to see anyone. Surprisingly this office is a little different while I did have to wait during one visit, due to the X-ray technician taking forever, all of the others were quick and very efficient. Dr. Dalmia is amazing and if I ever break my foot again I know just where to go. Hopefully that never happens again so I will be extra careful this time! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, especially if you're not religious or value warm comfortable atmosphere with staff and doctors who prioritize customer service. I don't want to go into too many personal details as what happened was very unpleasant, but the way I was treated here was just unacceptable and left me feeling profoundly disrespected. Seriously there are so many other doctors and facilities out there. Avoid this one and Dr Pham in particular. read more

I recently switched from Kaiser to a new insurance because I was sick for a long time and all Kaiser wants to do is throw prescriptions at you and not diagnose what is causing the symptoms. I was told Dr. Pham was new to the UCD system and was accepting new patients. I was willing to try anything at that point. Dr. Pham took his time with me to understand my symptoms. He was in my room for about 20 minutes. Ordered a full panel of blood work and guess what? I finally know why I'm sick and can start treating the main issue and not just putting a band aid on the symptoms. Great experience. Great doctor. read more

I had read other reviews of people having issues with this facility. I however had none. I had an appointment this morning, I was a bit confused upon arriving as there are a bunch of different check in areas unlike the one in Rancho. I asked one of the people at the counter and she was very nice and told me she could help me. I was checked in within minutes and saw the ultrasound tech right on time. She was also very pleasant. Not sure what exactly other reviewers were seen for or why they had such a bad experience but if I need to go again, I don't have a problem. Even tho I litterally live 5 minutes away, I like my doc in Rancho and will be staying with him. read more

Fantastic Staff. Dr Arnott and SUPV nurse, got me in fast to sew up huge 3" wound in my calf. With professionalism and great humor and 7 stitches later they dealt with my pain and made me comfortable to complete their procedure..Provided me with the equipment and tools needed to after care. This is not my normal Dr and I was treated like a longtime patient. In and out within 1 hr...Amazing.....THANK you to ALL the staff at UC Davis Carmichael. read more

I've been a grateful patient of Dr. Chen for 5+ years, who has exceeded my expectations, consistent with limitations imposed the UCD Medical System itself. She has always been on schedule, yet took whatever time was required to serve my needs. She works quickly and efficiently but never seems to rush me through. From the moment she enters the exam room she sizes up direct and indirect cues as to what's going on and how I feel. Her insight and intuition are amazing. I'm a 72 year old geezer with only a modest disability income, and have a number of significant medical issues. Dr. Chen has accommodated my limitations in determining treatment scenarios and priorities in a respectful, non-judgmental way. She presents facts clearly so that I can make smart decisions affecting my health. When prompt response has been necessary, she has greased the wheels of the UCD behemoth to have me diagnosed and treated in minimal time. For example, when appendicitis flared up, her initial diagnosis was promptly confirmed by CAT scan and the appendix completely removed, all within 18 hours. The other doctors, nurses and support staff have all been efficient and friendly as well. I've gotten to know them a bit and they feel almost like family. Highly recommended. read more

I'm not a big fan of this office. My regular doctor changed offices, so I had to come here. The front office staff were pleasant on the phone, but in person they were a little rude. It was almost as if they didn't have the time to deal with the patients. They were also gossiping, which I felt was inappropriate. The rest of the visit went smoothly. If the front office receptionists could be as good as the nurses, medical assistants, and doctors, this would be a great place. read more

Avoid this place. I question the doctors as far as if they are being thorough enough in what they are doing. It seems like they just want you in and out. Also do not trust them about medical records of you are waiting to hear back for results. They are incompetent. Say they will call you back, once they have the results but they never do. You call back to check in and turns out they never submitted the request for results in the first place. Super frustrating and incompetent. Its like you have to do their job for them. I hate dealing with their stupid administrative staff. And p.s. my doctor has never called me back once about any results. A receptionist always calls me back. I know the doctors are busy but I do expect to hear from my doctor herself every once in a while. I guess I'm just not important enough for them to take the time to talk to their patients. read more

I would give them a 5 star rating if 2 certain Dr's did not work there while treating me like a drug seeker. Been a pt here for 12 years, love my primary dr, but the others are very negligent and try to cover their butts by sending you to the ER if they don't want to deal with you. Not everyone makes the kind of money a doctor makes to pay those ER co-pays. ER co-pays aren't very cheap either. I remember several years ago I had a abscess that a certain doctor did not take seriously. My doctor was not in town, by the time my doctor got back in town I was urgently sent to the hospital and had emergency surgery due to an infected abscess that turned into sepsis. I almost died and was hospitalized for two weeks and now have a huge deformed underarm because of the surgery they had to do. And trust me I am not exaggerating when I say I almost died. My regular doctor again recently was out of the office. I had to go to the ER the day before, the ER clearly put in the notes that they were going to admit me and schedule me for Urgent surgery that night of or day after. I declined because the surgery was not life-threatening, I was just in a ton of pain. I already had an appointment set up with my general surgeon 3 days later. But because my regular doctor was out of the office, the other Physicians that were covering only skimmed over my chart notes, denied me the pain medication that the ER thought I would get because I was not asking for an early refill. Not to mention I was going to be having urgent surgery the next week. the doctors that were covering for my doctor while he was gone told me to go to the ER to get a prescription. That is not what ER's are for. Furthermore the ER even put in the chart notes for them to electronically fill my pain med prescription like it was supposed to. The ER offered to fill it for me but I told them I prefer to get it just for my primary doctor and not multiple doctors. So the ER prescribe me 5 pills to get me through that night and the next day until my regular physician could have filled it. But since he was not there, and the other two unreliable doctors were there they did not fill my medication. So I called my surgeon that I was seeing the next week, he actually spoke to me on the phone and did not have me speak to one of his assistants. He read all of the chart notes, and was in shock how my primary care doctors office treated me while my regular Dr was gone. In fact he scheduled me to have now urgent surgery 4 days later. also the ER put in my chart notes that if I were to be in pain again to the point where I had to return to the ER for them to just admit me until the day of my scheduled surgery. That's pretty bad when the ER puts that in your chart notes and the notes they send you home with. But yet the two covering doctors were not willing to help me. Certain doctors in that office judge you and once they have made their judgment of you good luck getting any kind of care from them. The only reason why I keep going to this Clinic is because my primary care doctor is amazing. The rest of the staff has always been helpful kind and caring. I actually feel like they are good friends and have my best interest along with my primary care doctor. But after this recent event I finally decided to write a Yelp post after being a patient at this clinic for 12 years. I am going to make a formal complaint about these two Physicians, and I sure hope they get dealt with. I am also going to request that these two Physicians never take over my care if my regular physician is out. So I have now learned only deal with my primary doctor and if he is out you are basically on your own. Thank God I was very lucky to have such a fantastic surgeon that already knew me and actually looked up all the ER notes. If it was not for him I would be hospitalized right now for pain management and would be getting surgery from some other general surgeon that is not familiar with my history like my current surgeon is. But like with all groups there are good doctors and bad Drs. So if you are fortunate enough to get a really good doctor this clinic is worth staying with. You just have to learn how to deal with their ridiculous system. Another positive thing about this Clinic is the phlebotomist here is wonderful and so is the x-ray technician. I just wish they had one more phlebotomist because the wait can be extremely long sometimes even if you make a scheduled appointment. But I do like the convenience of having a lab there x-ray and other type things you would have to go elsewhere for. Most of the staff has always been very caring and genuine. It's just those two specific doctors I have a major issue with. I even looked up their doctor health grade rating online and other people have the same complaint as I do. So we all can't be wrong about these other 2 physicians. read more

I recently had the great fortune to become a patient of Dr.Tyron Arnott, He is absolutely the most incredible physician I have ever seen!!He is knowledgeable,helpful and above all kind.I had all but resigned myself to the fact, that I would never find quality medical care again.Dr.Arnott changed that mindset.He makes you feel like he truly cares about your health, and whatever concerns you have.I cannot sing his praises enough!!Wonderful Service!!!! read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Beamesderfer's for almost 3 years. My experience has been great! The receptionist are a little more subdued that I've experienced elsewhere, but definitely not rude; all I expect is a friendly smile and an update on a wait-time. I've never had to wait more than 20 min., and that was a day that they fit me in the same-day, as an emergency patient. I've been blessed to know several caring physicians in my life and I would definitely count Dr. Beamesderfer as one! His team is also very caring and helpful and I'm glad that my former doctor recommended him to me. read more

My 91 year old mother, and I both go to the Carmichael U.C. Davis Medical Group. We each have different doctors, and have had nothing but excellent care. Dr. Beamesderfer, and Dr. Frazier are both excellent!! Only one of the receptionists have been a little unfriendly, but the others have been more than polite, and helpful. We've been very happy with the services, and medical care we've received. read more

I love this Medical group. I see Dr. Blinder and she is fabulous! Her nurse, Nicole is so sweet. The front desk staff are always very friendly as well. I also have gone to the podiatrist, I saw Dr. Medawar, he is such a nice doctor. Very thorough takes his time with you. I have also had no issues with X-rays or lab work. I have had the worst experience at this office. In April I went in for an appointment with Dr. Perez. I waited over 2 hours to see the Dr. I asked the nurse if there was a problem. I was told the wait was typical with this Dr. I had a 3pm appointment. After 5 I finally decided to leave. The Dr. came in as I was leaving. I was so upset over the wait (my time wasted) I could not even talk to the Dr. He said he would refund my $20 co pay. The office staff could not figure out how to do that so they said they would put a credit for the next time I went to the Dr. I did go see another Dr. at another facility in which I had a great experience. The Dr. said he hears my complaint often. The reason nothing is done about it is because this Dr. is the only one doing podiatry. Over 3 months later I am called out of the blue to inform me they will not give me a credit. I am absolutely appalled! Apparently the lack of professionalism and customer service starts at the top in this office because; when the office manager, Joanne called me and after explaining the situation for the 4th time to someone, her response was that the nurse and other Dr. should not have told me that my experience was common. Seriously???? The response should have been of course we will refund your $20 for the "Dr" visit that didn't happen after waiting for over 2 hours. The response should have been I am sorry for your experience and we want to do what is needed to make this right. When the front desk, nurse and a fellow Dr. all say this is typical why does the problem with this office have to be my problem. read more

I was lucky to be referred to this office back in 2001 from a doctor in Placerville who was changing his practice to Holistic medicine. I was seeing him for ulcerative colitis and fibromyalgia. After going to the pain clinic and being treated by the MD who wrote the book "The War on Pain" I then saw Dr. B for treatment. In the 19 years I have been his patient I never felt he didn't care. He is knowledgeable with a great bedside manner. His medical assistant is also very good and the girls that run the office are very nice especially Alicia. I have many other offices to compare this one to and believe me this one rocks. Dr Tim Beamesderfer will not let you down or treat you with disrespect. The wait time is never more than 30 minutes and usually on time. Easy to get an appt. with also. I feel I have been very lucky to find him and this office after moving up from the bay area. Not sure why others had so much complaints about this office. Doctors here are great; one of which is our family doctor, Dr. Timothy Beamesderfer. He is amazing. He will actually call you himself for matters that are important instead of having his MA's take care of it. When you do see him for appointments, he listens and is sensitive to your concerns. This, I believe is rare nowadays. The frontline staff are friendly and helpful. Never had I observed any gossiping in the years I've been going to this clinic. Staff would have mundane conversations when there's downtime but never gossiping. I recommend this clinic. It isn't perfect- there are times you do have to wait but that's the way it is sometimes. If you want perfections, perhaps hire your own private doctor that would cater to you at the comfort of your own home. read more

It is difficult to review an entire medical group because it depends on the doctor. The second doctor I have been to there is really outstanding. His name is Dr. Pham and he is very very kind and thoughtful with patients, He is also very knowledgeable about research on particular subjects. I would recommend this doctor to anyone who needs a doctor to listen and explain things and really care about the patient as an entire person. Have been a patient at this facility for at least 6 years. Dr. Chen and her staff are amazing. No waiting to see a doctor. Most of the staff are very friendly. Dr. calls me after hours to give me my test results good or bad. She spends time with me to answer all my questions. They call me if they have not seen me in awhile. She is the best doctor ever. The lab has people waiting for a long time. I was fasting and they forgot to call me for an hour. I would give the lab two stars Matt was the best and fast. I wish he was still there. I have since moved to Michigan, asked Dr. Chen if she would move with me. She said it was too cold for her. read more

I would rate this clinic zero stars if it wasn't for my super awesome doctor who was transferred here. The office staff is very rude on the phone and when I go in they are also only mediocre. I had to call and complain once about a staff person who was so terribly rude to me when I was in extreme pain. I'm afraid I need to do it again for the lack of response from this office as well as the insane hold times on the phone. There was one time that I had an appointment for xrays and I had been forgotten about for so long that the technician went on a lunch break. A 5 minute scan took 3 hours to get in. When I call there are staff people laughing to loudly in the background that the person on the phone can't hear me. I love that they love their jobs, but when I can't convey what I need because the phone operator can't hear me, thats a big problem. I wish my doctor could come back to downtown where the staff are quick and professional. read more
