I also tend to faint when getting blood drawn while sitting but this place was super accommodating and provided a bed. I like their technology to sign in and how it gives you a wait time to when they will attend you. Mine said 8 minutes but I was attended after two minutes which was great! Such an easy and quick process! I checked in and seriously less than a minute later I was brought in for my lab work. Anahid was very kind, calm, and made the whole process a breeze. Parking is a scam. You must leave your keys in the car. Even if not tandem parked. This was not clear from the attendant. I parked in a single space not blocking any cars and was fined $5. Park in the lot across the street. No rip-off, normal garage. Make a reservation for the lab. I was the only reservation and only had to wait 20 minutes. read more

I was always so scared of getting my blood drawn because I hate needles and in the past, I didn't like the way it felt. I was so nervous and almost crying when I went in to get my blood drawn. But Anahid was the most gentle person ever! I told her about my fear and being uncomfortable with it. This is where you go for quick, efficient, unfriendly service. It's been completely robotized - scanning this and clicking that - which has its pros and its cons, and is the way of most things lately but seems more suitable at Target. If you are in a hurry and not in need of any modicum of warmth, you'll probably be pleased with this lab. I've been a few times, because I mostly just want to get in and get out, but I don't think I would bring a young child, an infirm elderly person, or anyone needing any TLC. On the upside, it was pretty clean during my last two visits, and I found free parking quickly on my last one, first thing in the morning. On the downside, the folks I have dealt with there have seemed kind of annoyed by my presence, and I swear that I do not give anyone any kind of a hard time whatsoever, because I know if you aren't nice at a restaurant, you run the risk of something unpleasant happening to your food in the kitchen, so for sure I'm not taking any risks with the employees using needles on my body. Anyway, I probably will go back for convenience, but that does not mean I'd give it an overall thumbs up. read more

For me, this branch is great. Right by my work. I made an online appointment, showed up early, and was actually out and done before my appointment time. I waited less than 3 minutes. The service staff was great, and the tech did the fastest, cleanest, most painless blood draw I've ever had. It took maybe 4 seconds. Kendra really knows what she's doing. My husband had a lab test yesterday. He was told to bring back a specimen today. I thought I would just have to drop it off, but oh, no....not how it works now. I had to register with their new computer system. I ended up waiting more than an hour just to drop something off. While I was waiting, a man went ballistic. He was yelling a screaming before he went out. Soon after, another man started complaining about the new computer system. He left, too. The woman next to me ended up on the Standby list. After waiting for a long time, she asked the security guard how much longer. He said they were busy and he was sure she wouldn't be seen. She asked why no one told her. He shrugged his shoulders. He said when there are people in the waiting room at 5, he must tell them to come back the next day. The man next to me also had a complaint. He told me he has been going there 4 years, but it didn't used to be like this. It was a nightmare. read more

You have to stand in line to input your info on a little touch screen, and since the room was filled with tons of seniors not quite hip to new technology since the Eisenhower administration, that line took a long time. Then when I finally got through it and put my info in, the screen said it would be a 45 minute wait. WTF! I've been to diagnostics labs before on my lunch break! Really frustrating experience, I didn't even wait to get my blood test, I just hightailed it out of there to go to another where I've parked my car, walked in, for my testing and walked out the door back to my car in less than ten minutes total. read more

I called their office to try to ask a receptionist a couple questions before my appointment but they only have an automated voice system that runs you in circles with options, there is no option to transfer to speak to a real person. Even though I came to my appointment early, I was expecting to have to wait 30-45 minutes to be seen, like any other medical office. But I only waited 5 or 6 minutes after checking in for my appointment, which was easy to do at the front counter. Not waiting forever was a pleasant surprise. And the facility was clean, which I very much appreciated. I wish they used a little more patient discretion though because one poor fellow came up to the counter with a specimen in a bag and the receptionist loudly asked what it was, "URINE OR FECES?" Embarrassed, he quietly responded, "uhh...sperm count.." but the whole lobby heard his answer. She could have offered him a bit more privacy, in my opinion. Once I was called into the room, I was asked if I had my order form and insurance card. BRING YOUR INSURANCE CARD, they turned 2 women away today in the short span of time that I was there because they didn't bring their cards. The technician didn't introduce herself, sat me down in a booth, and proceeded to talk with her coworker about something not related to my appointment. She didn't tell me how much blood she was taking, didn't ask if I was afraid of needles, didn't ask if I was allergic to latex (she used latex gloves), didn't reassure me that it wouldn't hurt. She just kept talking to her coworker who was (needlessly) inside the lab booth with us. She cleaned my vein and right before she was about to stick me with a needle I said, "Excuse me, this is making me really uncomfortable, can you not talk and laugh while you're drawing my blood? Thanks." The coworker walked out of the booth and the technician was silent after that. Sometimes I think people forget they are working with HUMANS who should be interacted with when they are coming to you for a service! And a scary one at that! Not many people love being poked by needles! I wouldn't have minded her gabbing with her coworker if she had taken the time to introduce herself, briefly describe the process to me, and reassure me. But she didn't acknowledge me until I (kindly) told her to shut up. This technician soured my experience. read more

Getting my blood drawn has always been a horrific chore. I just recently had my blood drawn by Claudia. After my statement of "my veins are non existent" she simply said "show me what your working with" and BAM. First try. No problem. I was so relieved I I cried. Terrible service...made an appointment for blueprint for wellness...they had no idea what i was talking about. Told me my doctor did not order that particular test...and there was nothing they could do about it. Looked like they really enjoyed telling me "NO" and without providing any suggestions to get the test I want...and didn't even have the corporate number for me to call an complain...again another "NO, I don't have that information...you can go home and look it up yourself". 5 Star experience every time (except one thing...see below) - I've been there about 7 times in the past 4 years, always had an appointment. The website is very easy to use. Today when I checked in with the touch screen, that was really top notch. Most importantly, every single time I've gone whoever takes my blood did it QUICKLY and PAINLESSLY! 5 star experience every time. Today it was Anahid who was the superstar! The ONLY reason I'm not giving 5 stars is last time they couldn't get my platelet count and I had to go to a blood specialist. I promise if they get it this time I'll come back and update this review to 5 stars. **update Jan 9, 2013 they got it, so I changed my number from 4 stars to 5 stars.** Top notch awesome place. Sit in the waiting room & all you hear is people complaining how they are always behind schedule. Every time that I have gone with a scheduled appointment, they were always late. if you have a choice between 2701 or 2601 choose 2601~! 2701 location is across the street from 2601 and it is SMALL. if you have an appointment like I did that day you'd better be prepared to wait because they'll take the other people ahead of you even if they didn't have an appointment! the desk person was very rude and i will not be going back to this mis-managed location- 2601 is much better and you get priority for making appointments unlike this location! read more

I really want to like Quest Diagnostics because I like the idea of streamlining things forgetting sometimes it comes at a cost. I missed the old three person lab I went to before Quest swallowed it up but I contented myself by knowing that at least with Quest I could make my appointment on-line. Turns out once again, corporate big fish eats little mom and pop--and we are the worse for it every time we comply with the corporate desire to make us numbers instead of people. I had to learn this lesson the hard way. So I can make an online app't and walk-in close to my appointment time: SOLD. As stated above, I have the habit of falling for this trick. But I get there today and there's a 20 person line for the sign-in kiosk--two of the three are down. Quest, if your whole gambit is to make my experience easier with your corporate can-do, then DO it. I almost wait in that line because there was no sign explaining, and if I'd waited in line, I'd be toast. Luckily, I ignore the line and the disgruntled mass of rabid walk-ins crammed into perimeter chairs and swagger up to the counter at 9:27 for a 9:30 app't feeling a little too proud of my online app't and figuring that gives me gravitas over the chair sitters and line standers. When I state my intentions to the behind-the-counter-gal, about three people in the line yell out "Hey, I have an appointment too," then chaos ensues and the desk gal has to put out ten fires. Meanwhile she lets me sign in even though I started a small skirmish by speaking up, loudly stating that the others should not have waited in line because anyone who misses their appointment time by waiting in line or other means turns into a pie-eyed walk-in, ZAP, and you're a perimeter chair-sitter aka lemming. BTW, there's signage but it's all meaningless and confusing. Once I get inside, the gentleman taking my blood does the corporate-style spiel--20 questions to confirm that I am indeed who I claim to be and statements about how blood draw works yadda-yadda--though I tell him I've had blood taken once a month for years, like I have the nerve to imagine I'm an individual and not a number. I would be wrong. He tells me he has to say it. Yet in spite of what he imagines is his professional blah-blah, it's a time suck and why everyone outside is waiting longer than they need to. All of this adds to their disorganized unprofessional NOT better-than-the-old three-person-lab they replaced. And out of all of those disgruntled line-waiters and perimeter chair-sitters, barely anyone complained. Since when are we okay as a society with giving our power away? If everyone complained en masse, stood up and came forward, believe me, Quest will listen. Stop being lemmings people! Stand up and be counted. Go to the front of the line! It was my 1st visit and I was very impressed. Although appointments are encouraged, they accept walk-ins. I didn't make appointment as they don't offer any early appointment on the website. Knowing that they open at 7 AM, I went over there at 7 AM. A group of about 12 people were waiting by the door to get in. there are two touch screen monitors for us to use to sign in. They then called us into the room. My technician Sammy A. was very skillful, he has been there for 20 yrs. He was personable also. We chatted while he was drawing my blood so the session went by fast. I was out of there in 40 minutes. Since I arrived shortly before 7 AM, there were a lot of street parking in front of the bldg and they are free which is another bonus. read more

This place used to be good, but many of the employees have changed and it seems like they don't know what they're doing. I brought my grandma here thinking just like last time we'll quickly get her blood drawn and leave. They called us to the counter twice asking for paper orders when I had clearly stated it should be on care360 since we faxed it. The two employees look at each other like I just spoke a different language. Then they say there is a problem with one of the tests. Since we had been waiting for a long time already I said just forget that test and let's move on!!! Then they ask us to sit down again!!! I felt like we were puppets. Finally they call us in and send us to the bathroom in a very unprofessional manner. We stand in front of the bathroom for 10 min because someone is in there. The phleb who called us in had disappeared. She finally reappears again and says let's just draw her blood. Are we puppets here? There weren't even that many people outside for me to think it's a busy morning for them. They had more phlebotomists inside than they usually have. Unbelievable and completely unacceptable for a phlebotomy clinic to behave this way. read more

I get my blood drawn every 3-4 months. Each time I go online and make an appointment and don't have any trouble getting seen promptly. I also don't mind the computer check-in. Everyone that has drawn blood has been professional. If you're looking for chit chat or someone to read your mind and hold your hand, then this isn't your place. The reason for four stars instead of five, is that I have witnessed, and helped, some elderly patients try to use the computer check-in and there isn't any staff to help them. Reading the reviews of the past and from my own experiences at Quest, I can't say that I was looking forward to going here again. It stared poorly when I was unable to change a reservation time that their terrible phone reservation service screwed up (online might be better) because the number provided wasn't in their system and combined with never being able to speak to a human and then having the computers go down when I finally show up at 6:45am (not my reservation time since I had to pass on that) making it a wasted trip didn't ease my fears. Turns out, when I showed up the week following, the people were actually really nice, the service was fast (out of there in a half hour) and I was treated kindly and with respect.
