I know, sugery is something to worry about. My guy recently had that midlife procedure that we all look forward too. We arrived about 1 hour early. Once he was taken back to the room, he was in and out 2 hours later. I opted to wait for him on site. When he was sone they called me and had me pull my car to the front and they rolled him out. Very bad experience at Community Surgery Center of Glendale. One day before the procedure, they told my mom to drink 4 liters of preparation liquid and not eat anything. She felt very sick because of this. Our appointment was at 8:00 PM, but we waited until almost 9:45 PM. After she was taken in, they told us they could not do the procedure because of her height and weight, even though I gave them all the information the day before. This was very unprofessional and a complete waste of time. I do not recommend this place. read more

I want to Thank the entire Surgery center for providing the best professional patient care. The front desk, greets you as you come in and informs you of how long the process will be in and out. The back office was Excellent, the nurses explained everything and kept me informed about when I would be going in for my procedure. Dr.Suchov was Wonderful explained the procedure and asked if I had any questions. Post procedure the nurse was so caring and made sure I was able to get up and not feel dizzy. Excellent nurses and care provided but billing BEWARE. I wish I could give negative stars for billing department. Before you pay anything, please get an explanation of benefits from your insurance company. I was told on friday, if I didn't pay $3265.67 on the day of my surgery (Monday) then my surgeries would be canceled. They said there are no financing or payment plans offered. Come to find out a MONTH later, that I should've only paid $871.17. When I called to ask for a refund as soon as possible, getting a hold of the billing department was a nightmare (hung up on, 30 minute wait to then be hung up on again) finally they answered and said to expect the refund within the week. The week came and went, and a different person in billing said it would be 4-6 weeks. They will overcharge you because they are "afraid your insurance won't pay" get your insurance EOB before you pay this center anything. This is health INDUSTRY not HEALTHCARE. read more

This place was great! From the front desk, the intake nurse, anesthesiologist, techs, other nurses, they were all super friendly and prompt. I had 2 procedures in the same week and both times they were all just so easy to deal with. And no waiting. They seriously predicted I'd be done and hit the mark both times! Crazy! If you've ever had to wait for others to get out of a procedure hours after they were estimated to get released then you know why I was so surprised. The facility itself is good. I've had two prior surgeries there. I did my paperwork immediately when I arrived for my full knee replacement surgery and then waited at the most 5 minutes to be taken in. Most of the nurses were fairly nice. However, the nurses need to be retrained on what not to say to patients. I am a very petite 52 year old woman who has spent most of her life being teased about my appearance and even discriminated for my height. Some of the nurses saw me as something to be amused by. Being asked what my shoe size is especially a sore spot for me. How would they like it if I pointed out their flaws and laugh about it. Oh my God! You're obese! What size pants do you wear? After my surgery, I was in a lot of pain despite the anesthesia I was given. The nurse tending to me, Nurse Debbie, who is a contract nurse there was rude making inappropriate comments. She told my roommate who was picking me up that I was being "a whiner." He told me Nurse Debbie said it as a matter of fact. He then told me that Nurse Debbie also called him short (he's a little less than the average height for a man) and that he wouldn't be able to help me up the stairs of our home. These comments were inappropriate and Nurse Debbie was unprofessional. She was not empathetic towards me. I don't know if she's ever had knee replacement surgery. The way she acted tells me she has not and does not know what it feels like. Even if she has had one, every reacts differently to pain. I have a very low tolerance to pain and she needed to be respectful. read more

I cannot say enough positive words about the Community Surgery Center. I just completed my second colonoscopy at the center; and, for the second time, was extremely pleased with everyone associated with this very well-organized facility. Three days before my procedure, the surgery center called to confirm my time and answer any questions or concerns. On the day of the colonoscopy, I was greeted warmly at the front desk and quickly escorted to a bed. Throughout the entire process, I felt continually reassured that I was in very safe and capable hands. Stacey and Kathy, two of the RN's, took down my information, checked up on me several times, and made sure that I was comfortable. Their friendly manner and professional expertise definitely calmed any jittery nerves. By the time I was wheeled in for the colonoscopy, I was already feeling very relaxed. After being greeted by Dr. Michael Mello, who asked if I had any questions, the anesthesiologist did his job...and, then, the colonoscopy was completed. All in all, while no one looks forward to surgery, I highly recommend the Community Surgery Center for the professional and cohesive teamwork among their intake clerks, nursing staff, and doctors. read more

This place was amazing from the friendly caring staff, to the cleanliness! My daughter had her tonsils & adenoids removed here we were very nervous since it was her first surgery they made us feel so comfortable and assured that everything was going to go smoothly. My daughter is very attached to me so they made her feel so comfortable that she trusted them to take her in the OR with them! They gave her stickers, chapsticks and were so KIND & CARING to her! Everyone was amazing the nurses, the dr, the anesthesiologist and all the staff! Made this nervous experience much more eased for us. Everything was very organized & clean also. I recently had my first Colonoscopy and the team their were professional and kind. Chanel, Ricardo, Jessie, and Britney were all very nice considering on how nervous I was. Dr even came to introduce himself and before you know it, it was all over. Thank you. There was only 1 thing they don't tell you before you go on the day of your procedure. Should you need to be resuscitated, I believe you need some kind of Attorney Legal Form. If you don't have that form then you'll have to select No, don't have the form and "Do Not Resuscitate" DNR. You'd need to ask. Otherwise, all went well. Or just ask about the Forms before your procedure. read more

I came here to have an outpatient surgery on my hand. The parking lot was totally full mid-day so we had to find street parking. Overall I had a good experience here, I just had to wait hours longer than expected due to my doctor running late (and I was fasting). The room for pre-op is one giant room with curtains so not too much privacy but everyone was nice and friendly. The surgery went well and I love that they even called me the next morning to check in to see how I am doing. They also take down the name and number of your ride and contact them for you so that's helpful. read more

I wish to share what a great experience I had at the Community Surgery Center. I needed meniscus surgery on my right knee. This was the first surgery I have ever had. Everyone was very helpful and most of all understanding of how nervous I was. I called and Leannet helped me out with scheduling issues. She quickly resolved everything and scheduled me right away. I was beyond myself and very nervous when I came for my appointment. I was prepped and told everything that was going to happen by Juan, Justin and Mimi. I really appreciated the care and time they all took to explain all the details. They listened and most of all - answered all my questions. After the surgery, they were all there to help me out. They made sure I was comfortable. I had water and crackers. After fasting for 13 hours, I sure appreciated it. They bandaged me up, called for my ride. They went over all post op instructions and helped me to the car. They are all professional; the facility is top notch and most of all, they have a caring staff! They followed up with a call three days later to see how I was. I highly recommend Community Surgery Center. read more

I had a horrendous experience w/ this place a few days ago. They sent me their protocol for registering....4 pgs. of advance fill our forms. I did so, and sent it back to them via the email posted on their website. But they told me they didn't get the email and told me to send it to another non posted email. So I sent it again. When I reported to their Center for my procedure, they told me to fill our their patient intake forms; so I told them I had already sent those forms, per their request. They told me they didn't receive the forms at either email....I'd need to fill out forms that were completely different from the forms they stiipulated. I did so, and then they told me they needed the phone number of my medical transportation van service for my post op. discharge. There was no order on their patient intake form that I'd need an official medical transport van service; rather, their form stated I could use a ride share service or a taxi if I didn't have a responsible adult to drive me home. I brought this to their attention, and they denied that very statement that was written on their own patient advance intake form. I told them that I had done everything on their advance orders, & asked why they were doing a "bait and switch" on me, after I had done all the advance pre op preparations my doctor and their Center stipulated. They said unless I had an officual medical transport vehicle, they'd cancel my surgery appt. I had no choice but to accept their verdict, so they cancelled my surgery. This place demonstrated horrible intake and patient care protocol, in jacking me around on all the requirements that they themselves had stipulated, and that I had followed. I would not recommend this place......their customer service is very amateurish and unprofessional. What a bunch of shysters ! read more

The staff were kind, caring, helpful and compassionate from check in to discharge. The facility is clean and well organized. My husband's procedure went smoothly. Great communication from the staff to let me know how my husband was doing and when I could come to pick him up (since I couldn't wait there due to Covid restrictions). There was a slight complication when I arrived, and I had to wait another 20 minutes before they could discharge my husband safely (not their fault at all!). They calmly let me know what was going on and then they handled it and brought him out. My husband said he would gladly go back there for any other procedures. We were both happy from the patient viewpoint and the caregiver viewpoint. My husband's surgeon also said that they are easy to work with and they make it possible for him to do the best job possible by providing him with all of the resources that he requests. TL;dr: Professional, clean, efficient and caring staff. Would have other procedures done here, if any are ever needed. Good experience for the patient, caregiver, and surgeon. read more

Done with this place!!! Last year my husband had surgery for a crushed knee cap scheduled at noon ish-he didn't get into surgery due to another emergency until 3. Fine understand. Finally we get the call to pick him up at 5:30& the parking lot is empty except for one car& no one is picking up the phone so they know I'm waiting. I call his cell & he groggily answers and tells the nurse I'm there. Next I see him walking unsteady on crutches with the nurse walking behind him. What!! No wheel chair?! He Just had major surgery with a plate in his knee!! He can't bend the leg so he half lays in the back seat. They also send his pain medication to a now closed pharmacy! It's now past 6 pm. So i call the doctor emergency number & get the meds transferred to a local hospital pharmacy that is open. Fast forward to today he's got a simple procedure that takes 30 min. He's due to have it at 8:15, 9:30 I get the text to pick him up. We live 20 min away so I get here & oops it's an error. Nurse didn't mean to send it. It's another hour!! Really??? Maybe it's a nursing shortage but the lack of care the first time & the error this time just is too much. If you can help it go elsewhere! read more

I had a surgery scheduled here at 5:30 am this morning and as soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the kindest front desk ladies. They got me checked in very quickly and look me in within just a few minutes. The nurse who helped me prepare for the surgery was also very kind and helpful. She made me feel really comfortable during my time there. Finally, the nurse who helped me during recovery was also fantastic. She took such great care of me and made sure that I was comfortable before returning home. I would highly recommend this place!! Shout out to the entire staff. Absolutely horrible. We were instructed to be there at 7:30 AM for a simple procedure. We waited over an hour and a half before my partner was called in. In the meantime, no eating or no drinking before the surgery. Other people in the eating room were getting huffy at their long wait times as well. When I asked about it and complained the women at the front desk deflected and seemed annoyed. When another person loudly complained, one of the clerks at the front desk smirked! This place sucks!!! Once inside, my partner was treated well, but I will never ever come here for a surgery! Insane wait time. Rude front desk. Unacceptable. read more

I called and offered my insurance information and they gave me a price (after begging for a couple days) , with the understanding that there may be an addition deductible. Got the bill later and they inflated the price by 50%. These types of small medical companies are allowed to do whatever they want when it comes to billing. Everyone, including the front-desk staff and the nurse that took my Covid test 5 days prior to my procedure were friendly and caring as well. Don't let the place fool you because it's not in a hospital. It is clean, well staffed and well stocked. It could very well be an emergency ward at a hospital. I was sent here for a Colonoscopy, which was long over due. I anticipated long waits, and being left to ponder the procedure I was about to endure. My procedure was scheduled for 10:30 am, and I was told I should be there an hour before to take care of all the formalities prior to. I got there at 9:20, finished the necessary paperwork in less then 10 minutes. Five minutes later my name was called. I was lead to an area, went over my paperwork and was ready for the procedure in less than 15 minutes. They wheeled me into the operating room, spoke with Dr. Mello. The procedure went off without a hitch. I woke up in recovery ready to go home. No discomfort or following side effects. Nothing to even indicate it even took place (except the pictures). The staff was more than courteous, professional, and friendly. Dr. David Mello was friendly and reassuring. I can't give this facility a better review, as I find it a very professionally run center. read more

There is a problem with communication and respect at this surgery center. Today was my husband's second procedure here, and both times, we were given incorrect information about the timing of the procedures. For the first one, they pushed his morning appointment to the afternoon, and then didn't start getting him ready until two hours after this pushed-back start time. He was fasting, so of course was starving, but didn't dare reschedule because his doctor only had one operating day per month here. They also sent a message to me in error, to pick him up although they had just started the procedure. It made me worry about their competence in other areas. For the second procedure on a different day, they finished an hour ahead of schedule, and said I had to pick him up right away, even though he was asleep, and our baby was napping. I asked if I could pick him up at the originally-quoted time, especially since he wasn't awake yet, and they said "no"! The nurse also called me "hun" in a really condescending way. I don't expect her to know that I am a physician and call me "Dr.", but she ought to show a little respect to patients and their families. And this rushing people out the door makes it seem that they are only about the $$$. One more thing - there is no one to contact on the weekends, so when my husband had a problem with his pre-operative prescription, there was no one available to assist before his Monday procedure, and if he didn't take this prescription, he would be canceled and charged $100. Not ideal. Much could be improved about the staffing and operations at this place. read more

This place has unacceptable service. My brother pre registered and explained everything he had as far as identification and was told that it was okay the day prior to surgery. He goes in the morning of his surgery and the office manager now says it's NOT okay. He really needs the surgery done to repair a badly damaged shoulder and has to start all over again. As well as costing $1500 for a nurse to take care of the people he cares for that is now wasted!!!!!!! And when he and his friend were justifiably upset they were threatened with the police!!!!! read more

My only negative comment is... an employee came out (car parked in handicap space-black 4 door Dodge SUV # 7XGT318) raced out the parking lot tires squealing!!! Apparently he went to go get lunch.
