Oh, and get this... my food was delivered by a robot! Totally unexpected and super fun. If you're looking for great Mexican food with heart, Oscar's is absolutely worth a visit.

I also always get a small horchata (AGAIN, not bad, a little diluted. I've had better, but not super sweet). They always give us a giant stack of lemons and plenty of hot sauce to last us days!

Tacos don't just have to be a Tuesday thing and margaritas shouldn't be limited to happy hours…read more K Macho's serves up the TexMex pretty well and pretty consistently. Your bowl of chips is rarely empty for long (especially for a glutton like me) and meals are delivered hot & ready. It's a big space, and when the place is packed, there is a LOT of service traffic on the floor. Wait times are usually not bad and the tables turn quickly with all of the help happening. The food is good, maybe not great. But it's not far from great and if you ordered something that would be delivered hot, then you can be sure that it will be served VERY hot. A plate of carnitas runs about $16, comes with tortillas, and is served very hot. K Machos makes a sensational traditional carnitas plate, and this is one of those top shelf items to try. If you want a taco salad or standard TexMex plate, then you get the good level. K Machos has a great drink menu and great drink specials. Their house marg runs $10 for the big schooner, or you can get several varieties of fruit in a frozen margarita version. Mango marg, anyone? Service is great, location is great, food is pretty good overall, and the drinks are great. It's definitive worth the stop in Olathe.

I started with the jalapeño margarita, but honestly downed it before I even remembered to take a photo. My second was easily my favorite: their masterfully crafted Mango Margarita which felt like a fiesta going down. For dinner, I ordered the Combo #4 (tamale, pork burrito, and crispy beef taco). They were kind enough to swap in a deep-fried taco for free, and since I'm a habitual chip-dipper, I happily doubled down on the refried beans to satiate my dipping cravings. One friend had the skirt steak and raved about how tender it was and how nicely it was plated. I was able to get a quick pic before it disappeared from his plate! One small quirk: they don't keep salt and pepper on the tables, so you'll need to ask for them. Our server also seemed a little eager to rush us out the door even though the restaurant wasn't very busy.(we weren't having any of that and me especially after two margaritas, haha), but overall, great food and standout margaritas make this an easy spot to revisit!

We were told that they were-they were not. The whole fried tilapia shown in a photo on the menu has shrimp on top of it. When it was served, there were no shrimp on it. It seems like a former fast food chain place converted into an independent restaurant. Prices are reasonable and food was tasty.

There was equal amounts rice and black beans and plenty of fajitas and chicken. I felt it was all generous and there was not too little of anything. My two enchiladas combo ($12.49) included good portions of rice and beans. It was served just six minutes after I ordered at the counter. Usually, that would give me time to dig into complimentary chips and salsa, but the complimentary tortilla chips warmer was empty. Ugh! However, they did offer a complimentary salsa bar with five salsas with various heat levels to add to my entrée - nice! My meal offered plenty of moist, shredded chicken, creamy, refried beans and moist, tasty rice. The service at the counter was helpful and cheerful with two order kiosks also available. I found the dining area to be clean and nice with booths, two TVs (off) and lively Mexican music coming from the kitchen. They also offer a drive-thru. And I don't make multiple return visits to restaurants where I don't enjoy the food and the service. The restaurant is tucked away down what appears to be an industrial street where you wouldn't expect to find a sit-down restaurant. Because of this you won't accidentally discover it while you're out on a Saturday afternoon drive. I'm certain the location hurts their business as it has other failed restaurants that have occupied the same space in the past. But if you go to the trouble of finding it, you'll be happy you did. There are a few "Mexican" restaurants in this area of town, but this is a "Tex-Mex" restaurant, which I prefer. I won't go into describing each individual item on the menu, I'll just say the food is solid Tex-Mex. I lived in Houston and San Antonio for a total of 10 years, so I know what Tex-Mex is supposed to taste like. Chapala could definitely hold their own in South Texas. I think you should give it a try.

While many items were ok and overall portion sizes were good, it lacked seasoning, especially the quesadilla. It was simply a tortilla with an underwhelming amount of cheese. Didn't even taste like the tortilla was heated up with any butter. Very bland. The tacos we ordered were ok but the shells reminded me of that from a Taco Bell taco kit almost. Sadly a soft option or corn option was not offered to us. Even though we dined around 1230, the restaurant was empty. Only one other table was occupied with guests. The hostess was even eating while working which didn't make for a very welcoming ambiance.
