My second impression was how clean the place was, not covered in nail dust and not an overwhelming smell of polish or polish remover. I saw that when one client left they wiped everything down and even cleaned the floor by the nail techs station. It felt a little bit more like a med spa due to cleanliness, no TV and loud music which I prefer. My Nail tech Jany was very sweet, and was very meticulous on her work. I don't think she could have done a better job. I didn't feel as if anything was rushed and you can tell quality was equally a too priority to the salon. I wasn't asked if I wanted to upgrade anything or pushed into different services like some other salons pushing for pedicures and manicures or waxing. It felt like they respected the fact that I booked one service. Not to mention that the manicure never chipped, broke, came off, or lost it's shape. It stayed on so well that if my nails hadn't grown out I would have not needed to change it. Highly recommend, and they are certainly worth their pricing!

By that time I already felt right at home. Soon after I was guided to the chair where Laura would complete my Russian pedicure service. Laura is the sweetest, she confirmed how I wanted my French pedicure and did such a tremendous job ! I love how detailed the Russian pedicure is and if it wasn't for me wanting to see the full process, I would have been able to fall asleep because of how gentle Laura was. Let's take a moment for how smooth the bottom of my foot was after she finished - because WOW !! The salon was so clean and I love the minimalist set up. I can't wait to return! 10/10 -- thank you ladies !!

Polished and done within 24 minutes. Both done in 54 Minutes and cost $56. The mani just as fast, didn't use any cuticle softener or warm soak. Went to town with the Dremel tool. I selected a nice gold gel polish color for a holiday party the color was old, she added something to it and shook it up. The color is orange not gold the way it looked on the color palette. But the colors sometimes change when old. I won't go back.

I would have paid $35 ($20 for the pedi & $15 for the mani), plus a tip and felt like that was more reasonable, but I really feel like $60 was way too much to charge! (Plus the guy nicked my finger.) They definitely lost a repeat customer.

This is what adulting feels like! Sugarcoat is owned by and ran by "Nat" and the whole experience…read moreis a vibe! The salon is intimate and clean. You will likely be her only client when you have an appointment which means that you are receiving a personal and narrowly-tailored experience! I first came to SugarCoat after avoiding gel manicures since 2010 (or whenever it was first invited). I think I've only done gel manicures 2x in my life and Lord the damage to my nails was so terrible that it was enough for me to just stay away. However, regular manicures take forever and don't last, so after much research and prayer, I ventured to Sugarcoat. During my first appointment I was very candid with Nat about my distrust of gel manicures and how much I cared about the health of my nails. Not only was Nat understanding, but she explained to me why her process was different and what I should expect during the gel-removal. In short, I've been a customer for about 9 months and I will never turn back! Ladies (and/or gents), if you care about the health of your nails and want a quality manicure and pedicure TRUST Nat to deliver every time! Above all else, after taking a break from gel manicures, my nails maintained their strength. I wish I photographed my last manicure - it was BEAUTIFUL and my nails were still strong! Also- the quality of her polish is quality- your mani and pedis will last - mine last at least 3 weeks! In short, support this black-owned business!

I waited for an appointment they gave me, only to have my daughter's quick manicure pushed aside so they could take a later walk‑in instead. This wasn't the first time the atmosphere felt biased. We're done with this salon. *** Responding to owner's reply. Thank you for responding. To clarify, the issue was not the service length, it was the lack of communication. At no point did anyone explain that my daughter's manicure needed to be paused or adjusted. She was simply stopped mid‑service so a later walk‑in could be taken instead. Had anyone spoken to us directly, this would have been a very different experience. My review reflects the pattern of selective treatment and the way the situation was handled, not the pricing or the skill level. A pattern of Poor communication and biased customer service.
