Okay yall, where do I begin.. Yesssss for the TEA. And "spilling the tea", if you get my drift. I definitely spilled tea on my visit here with my close friend. Metaphorically of course. This place is nothing but extravagantly lush and beautiful to just look at. I had to drive some way to get here but boy was it worth it. The service was great, and everyone was so kind. In my experience was all around pretty great. I did not go for the full tea experience. Looking around at the people who did order the experience, it looked really cute. However, I think that for a group of people, it would be best instead of one or two. There is only so much that one person can drink.. (as far as tea goes) and there were a lot of little finger sandwiches with small pastries. I fully believe that my friend and I i got just as good of an experience with getting one of our own teapots and a sandwich with a dessert. It all comes out less and you get a great portion. The sandwiches (Bacon in Belgravia) that we ordered along with the handmade chips were delicious. Bacon was thick like me and the chips were fresh! I also ordered their cheesecake which was pretty good. However, nothing was better than the actual tea. The Houston Hero. SOOO GOOD. Subtle with caramel hints. Lovely ambience, somewhere between rustic chic and English traditional. Very busy on a Wednesday afternoon with parties of all ages! They seemed a little understaffed, because there were large gaps between our server's visits to our table and we had to request water refills and the check, but the service was friendly and otherwise prompt. It was also pretty clean and tidy. We got the traditional English tea spread. The food was pretty good - all seemed to be homemade from scratch. My personal favorites were the cucumber sandwiches and the scones, which were wonderfully crumbly. However, all the food did seem to have a certain "refrigerator" taste. You know how sometimes you eat at someone's house and the food just tastes like...house? Kind of like that. I don't really care for that, but it didn't stop me from enjoying most of it. The tea itself was rich and I think they said it was a Texas company, which is cool. The teapots come in cute "coozies" too. I've been here before and enjoyed my experience, which is why this was especially disappointing. I called over three weeks in advance to make a reservation for 8 and was told they recently changed their policy to only allow parties of 6. I tried to be flexible and asked if we could do two separate tables of four with separate checks, seated adjacent to each other, and was told no because it would still be considered one large party. I completely understand businesses having policies, but the unwillingness to work with a reservation request made well in advance felt unnecessarily rigid and came across as poor customer service. Cute spot in the Heights. A little hard to find street parking, so save time for that. Very clean and cute atmosphere - sort of modern with a shabby chic twist. We ordered the afternoon tea service, which was $67 a person. It was fairly standard, nothing blew us away. Although the pecan scones and the cucumber sandwiches were yummy. Most of the people around us were ordering lunch which actually looked really good - big fluffy croissants with chicken salad. So for the price I think we would do that next time. Such a cute spot for afternoon tea. It has that classic tea feel but with a more modern, Southern twist. I loved that they offer pescatarian and vegetarian options, it made the whole experience feel really thoughtful and easy to enjoy. Everything we tried was fresh, the tea was really good, and the presentation was beautiful without feeling over the top. What a cute experience! For a feminine, floral, Bridgerton-vibes tea room experience, Queen Bee's Tea Room hits so many high notes. I went for a friend's birthday gathering: We all dressed up in our funnest florals lewks and enjoyed tea service for about eight ladies. We did have to order and pay in advance, a I LOVED that they have a full gluten-free option. From sandwiches with gf bread to gf crackers provided for my dips and spreads to the gf dessertssss. Plural. I wasn't limited on options to indulge. They also have a full bar, so you can do flights of martinis and cocktails if tea isn't what ya fancy. There's a lovely patio, so many photo opps; however, you might get in the way of the staff and they didn't seem to happy about that (but ya'll made the place dang cute!). There's also complimentary valet (street parking is limited). The full tea service I got was $65 and it it was more than enough to share with a dining companion. read more

The vibes in the tea room were immaculate and perfect for photos. Our server was generally good but it was a little difficult flagging her down later in the meal for tea refills. What an awesome experience. The setting is charming and lovely and the service superb. Taylor took very good care of us. I took 2-4 year old granddaughters and they were all dressed up for a birthday tea party. The food was awesome and the chef took my two glass slippers I brought and placed cake balls and flowers in them. It was so very special. We will be back! read more

Absolutely love this new tea spot. The place is very chic and enchanted. Definitely dress your best, charge your phone because there are so many cute photo ops, especially the iconic pink phone booth. Super cute spot! Very Bridgerton meets Alice in Wonderland. The even better news is the food actually keeps up. The sweet potato chips with garlic aioli were the star. Perfect chewy/crispy balance and the aioli was smooth and well-balanced. I'd go back just for that. The cornbread scone was solid, I just wish it was warmer...but I'm learning I like my food hotter than most people. That might be a me problem. Drinks were fun but come with a warning: the jalapeño mimosa is spicy spicy. Not for the weak. The prickly pear mimosa was my favorite. It was light and refreshing! The lychee one was a hit too. LOVED the Lonestar tea service!! Full pot, all the fixings, and a fair price. Presentation made it feel like an actual experience. The Service was top tier. As someone who's worked in restaurants, I didn't feel the urge to "help out," which tells me everything I need to know. It was my best friends birthday and they even crowned her with a beautiful tiara that she was able to take home. I'll definitely be back! The manager (I think she's the manager) is a little bit rude, we placed the order online since we are a large party. There's no explanation of the tea when placing order online, so after I placed the order, I emailed them that we will select the tea when we get here, but our tea was already on the table. 2) again, we are a large party, of course some of us arrived a little bit. The manager basically told everyone again and again that we only have 2 hours. We understand that being late is going to cut into our time, but there's no need to keep "reminding" in a rude way about this. I don't know it's because we are an Asian group or not, but the manager's attitude is very much " we don't really want you to be here but since you are here already we will put up with you." Absolutely divine experience at the queen bee. Made a reservation for a friend's bday and in December and our experience from star to finish was beyond awesome. Kind and friendly owners. Most of the crowd was ladies dressed in their Xmas . Cute spot with a real experience with their set menu. You get to select the teas each and it all Comes with a beautiful teapots and the various finger foods to go with it. If you have a child in the group they have their own disobey themed teapots and menu . Absolutely loved the scones and cookies , the savory corn bread muffin was a good Texas twist. We saw mom , daughter dates , being holiday season we could see extended families fill the tables: The owner made it spl by singing bday song to my friend another bday girl. Queen Bee's Tea Room is an adorable addition to Houston's afternoon tea scene. The space is large and adorably decorated with lots of natural light and both indoor + outdoor seating. When I visited on a Saturday (Oct '25), they had a valet-only lot, as well as street parking available. All of the staff were so friendly, greeted us right away, came to check on us often, and were very personable all around. The tea service offered unique treats and fun spins on some of the 'classic' items. Each person gets their own pot of tea, and they are served in cute little bags. We saw a variety of people there, including a girls' brunch, a date, and a children's birthday tea. They also offer an individual menu, in addition to the tea service, and we were told they will soon offer happy hour / dinner bites, too. I'm excited to see how the space evolves and hope they stick around for a while! read more

On April 26, 2026, I visited the Queen Bee's Tea Room in Houston, Texas. I was celebrating a wonderful occasion with several of my sorority sisters. Although the atmosphere was pleasant and the food was somewhat okay, the treatment that we received was beyond reproachable. While the wait staff was nice; the managers were not. Specifically, Samantha Darr and Kristy were rude, seemingly discriminatory, and simply unwelcoming. They (the managers) were watching us in a uncomfortable way. When we went outside to take pictures, one of the managers followed us outside and said to us that she was there to "watch" us. My expectation was that the experience at the Queen Bee's Tea Room was going to be fabulous. Instead, it was a flop. No one should have this type of experience at a tea room that proclaims to be great. I am so disappointed that we had to endure the type of treatment that we received. I am even more disappointed that we paid for it. Hopefully, the managers will read this review, take this review seriously, and enroll in a management training class. read more

I went to visit this quaint establishment called "Queen Bee Tea Room" for a major celebration, expecting a joyful and welcoming experience this weekend 4/26/2026, but unfortunately left feeling uncomfortable and singled out. While the atmosphere was beautiful and our waitstaff provided excellent service, the management (Samantha Darr and Kristy) made our experience very unpleasant. Throughout our visit, they repeatedly monitored our volume and movement, despite another group being allowed to celebrate freely without similar intervention. Our servers even shared that they did not find our group to be loud, yet management continued to focus on us. It is disheartening to spend a significant amount of money only to feel policed and watched during what should have been a happy occasion. As the only people of color in the establishment, the treatment felt targeted and difficult to ignore. When we privately shared our concerns, one manager stated they were "protecting the other guests from us," which was both confusing and deeply concerning. It is truly unfortunate that such a lovely venue is overshadowed by bad management behavior that felt unwelcoming and inequitable. If you are looking for an inclusive environment to celebrate a milestone, please DO NOT CONSIDER Queen Bee Tea Room!!! read more

Celebrated my birthday here. Had the best experience, our service was great, the tea was so good. The atmosphere was beyond what I expected you can definitely come here for brunch , lunch and evening cocktails there's something here for everyone . I love that they have flights on the menus. We got the tier and so many yummy foods and sweets. My favorite was the corn bread scone chefs kiss , we also got to meet the owner as she was making her rounds introducing herself she was the sweetest very welcoming and our waitress Jasmin, explained the menu very detailed and suggested a few things very well and was at our table side refilling our cups. My family and I (a group of women and children) came in excited for a special tea outing. We were dressed appropriately for the setting and had called ahead, where we were told reservations were full but that we could try to sit outside if we arrived early. When we got there, there were clearly open outdoor tables, yet instead of any effort to accommodate us, we were repeatedly told we "should have made a reservation," even after explaining that we had already called. What made this experience especially uncomfortable was not just the refusal it was the tone, the lack of care, and how we were spoken to. At one point, we were told to go to IHOP, which felt dismissive and honestly degrading given the type of experience we came for. Comments like "welcome to the Heights" were delivered in a way that felt condescending rather than helpful. As women of color, we left feeling unwelcome, looked down on, and honestly profiled. There was no warmth, no attempt to help, and no basic level of hospitality that you would expect from a place that markets itself as an "experience." What hurt the most was seeing how this made my mom feel. This was supposed to be a special moment for our family, and it genuinely broke my heart to see her feel dismissed and uncomfortable. No one should be made to feel that way. This was not about a lack of seating it was about how we were treated. After reading other reviews, it's clear that this is not an isolated experience. There seems to be a consistent pattern of guests feeling unwelcome, dismissed, or poorly treated, and in some cases, even feeling they were treated differently. Thankfully, we were immediately accommodated at Little Hen, where we were treated with kindness, respect, and genuine hospitality the complete opposite of our experience here. It made it very clear what proper customer service should feel like. I'm sharing this so others especially minority families looking for a welcoming place to celebrate are aware of the experience we had. It pains me to leave this review but I feel that it can help improve their performance in the future as they are a new business. Let's start with reservations. I messaged to book a party of 8 of us and left a message on IG as nobody answered phone calls and I wasn't able to book a larger reservation online. Almost a week later I finally got a response. Ok, still was looking forward to it and let that red flag by. Absolutely cute place and great location. I'll give you that. I was absolutely excited and we all wore our fascinators and was ready for tea. I was even more excited that I knew the tea brand used and love the fact that they support another woman owned Texas tea company. Unfortunately they were out of the most popular tea anyone could want at a tea service... Earl Gray. Boooo Next issue. Four out of six of us (a couple could not make it due to the flu) arrive on time as two were running behind so we were served menus and no water.... for almost an hour. So thirsty... finally when the rest of our group joined they thought to ask us if we'd like water. Thanks. Great. We all ordered our $65 tea offerings (mind you I have had tea service in a plethora of places all over the world and in town at many places... I'm no newbie and like everyone's spin on it) all of us ordered and we were all served at different times, makes it hard to enjoy the almost $800 tea time with friends TOGETHER when we aren't served at the same time. I was the host and was served nearly an hour after the first two were served. Not ok. Even worse.... Now we live in Houston, the best city to eat food. The standards are high I know.... But tea sandwich's are so easy to nail... I feel like scones are even easier to nail and sweets at a tea house, an absolute must to excel at for $65. Every bite was not good. I was so sad. One of us was served a raw Dr Pepper cake dessert, I mean RAW and not holding its shape. One of us was served a scone that was half baked, mine was burnt so no consistency in any item at all... and I don't care about volume of food (it wasn't very much but it's ok) I was quality for the price. The bread was not good and the weird yogurt dessert was served with something on top for half of us but the other half didn't have the same topping? Also, we were given two small sides of clotted cream and jam for seven of us. Sorry, each of us should be served our own and the amount of clotted cream was less than a quarter size. Who ever likes scones with clotted cream would relate to how sad that is. I asked for them to make sure we all have our own and she seemed annoyed but obliged. Also, there was the cutest little honey butter shape next to the corn scone (which is the only thing I ate really, that was good) but the butter was so rock hard that I couldn't spread in on the scone which was room temperature so the butter didn't melt in contact. It's in the little details with food. Again, Houston has pretty high standards food wise. I've watched good concepts fail within three years because of these things.... Hoping to help with this review. We all weren't offered refills on water or other beverages... and we were the largest party there yet no quality checks besides one after waiting for the food to arrive.... I think it was the owner who asked us how everything was an hour after we were sat, and I just looked at her and said I'll let her know once we begin to enjoy any food we haven't yet received it. We had our company and enjoyed our time together in the cute room but we all agreed that we will never go back and it was a waste of almost $800 and have agreed to have a redo tea time at another venue next week. It's sad because not only am I a native heights gal, but I also own a small business in the heights and like to support my favorite part of Houston but I felt that this review needed to be made in hopes for improvement. Also, the valet driver was extra in need of a shower and my car still smells like him this morning (‍) that was a first. All in all, I hope they do better in the future. This place has potential. This brand new tea room at 15th and Yale is just what the Heights needed. Everything about is perfection. The decor, ambiance and service. I'm not a tea drinker so for there to be a full bar is an added bonus! I got the Sieze Her Salad (Caesar salad) and shared the Dr Pepper chocolate cake. So amazing. I'll be back! read more
