Beso by Patria - Paella Patria

Beso by Patria

Beso by Patria offers a really enjoyable Spanish dining experience…read more The Paella Patria was fragrant and flavorful, with fresh Argentinian shrimp and purple mussels. The saffron-infused rice soaked up the rich seafood broth perfectly. You can ask the staff to remove the shells if you want to eat more elegantly. The Spanish Octopus was tender and meaty--so fresh, I could have eaten more! I also tried the 36-month aged Joselito Iberico ham. Even though it's not my usual favorite, it was rich, flavorful, and paired nicely with the optional little crisp toasts. The baked white asparagus was a highlight, fresh and flavorful with a touch of minced meat that elevated the dish. The 16oz beef rib steak was cooked well done but still tender and juicy, and the accompanying little peppers added a subtle kick without being overwhelming. The restaurant's atmosphere is dim and cozy, perfect for dates or small gatherings. The staff were enthusiastic, checking in frequently, and even the management stopped by to make sure everything was going smoothly. Overall, a very satisfying meal with a good mix of flavors and textures.

This place had been on my list for a while, and it definitely lived up to the hype…read more The interior is stunning--very upscale, with gold accents and a bit of that "John Wick" vibe. The atmosphere feels elegant yet lively, perfect for a night out or a special occasion. We came mainly for the paella, and it did not disappoint. There are a few topping options, and it takes about 45 minutes to prepare, so I'd recommend ordering it early. The seafood was the highlight--shrimp were tender and bouncy, with mussels, clams, and even green beans. The flavors together with the rice were perfectly balanced. The Iberico pork shoulder was tender and flavorful, with a sauce that had a subtle savory depth--absolutely delicious. The fried eggplant was a bit on the salty side, and surprisingly didn't taste much like eggplant (more like fried potato slices), but still enjoyable. Overall, every dish had its highlights, and the dining experience was very satisfying. With the combination of great food, attentive service, and stunning ambiance, I'll definitely be coming back to try more dishes.

The staff…read moreare genuinely friendly and caring, and they're great at guiding you through the menu, especially when it comes to cocktail recommendations. The tapas are really good, though dishes did come out a bit on the slower side. But honestly, it fits the whole experience here: order a few cocktails, enjoy the atmosphere, and let the night unfold at its own pace (within the seating time limit of course). One of those spots that makes you want to order just one more plate. We got: * Half Octopus * Mussels Escabeche * Jamón Croqueta * Shishito Peppers * Sea Bream Ceviche & Chips * Grilled Beef Tongue & Mojo Rojo * Sobrasada & Foie Gras

Rating this a 4/5 overall because I did enjoy my experience here, but I will say the food itself…read morewas more like a 3/5. Came here on a Thursday night and was surprised at how busy it was for a weekday. Despite that, the service was excellent! Staff were friendly off the bat and very attentive after each dish was finished, making sure to wipe off the table or exchanging the plates which I was really impressed with despite how busy they were. We decided to go with their tasting menu where you gave them a price range you wanted to stick to - I believe it was $85-$200, and you can mention some dishes you definitely want to try and they curate the rest for you which I thought was so unique! I loved the idea of that. The dishes we really wanted were the octopus, bone marrow and scallops. The only standout dishes to me were the scallops, and a salad I cannot remember the name of but was so shocked at how good just a simple salad could be. Other than that, the other dishes were still good, but nothing extraordinary to be honest. The octopus was a bit too charred which was disappointing as it was what I was looking forward to the most. The tasting menu we got also had mainly vegetable dishes (other than the ones I just mentioned), so was hoping to get a few more meat dishes. This is definitely a great spot for vegetarians as it had a lot of veggie dishes. I would still come back to maybe try some of their other more meat focused dishes. Overall, I still had a great time and can't stress enough how lovely our waitress and the rest of the staff were!

Walked in on a Sunday with no reso for 2. No wait…read more I'd say it's something like a 4.3 realistically. Would come back. Food: Paella: ordered the crispy pork belly and rib paella. Was honestly really good. Looking at all the other reviews here it seems like a mixed bag. But this one was great. Maybe the others aren't always good? The paella is made to order and is cooked in front of you though so maybe they don't have their QA locked in. Our experience was great. Super flavorful. Only thing is that there wasn't really any socarrat (which is the best part!). Purists will say this is required for a paella to be good but I enjoyed myself anyway. Gambas: incredible. I could come back here for just this. The sauce was unreal and so flavorful. No notes. Bread: we got up sold on the bread. Went great wiping up the gambas sauce but the bread itself wasn't that great as far as bread goes. Service: Service was not bad. Pretty prompt and didn't wait long for anything. Ambiance: Pretty cute. Decor is colorful and very Spanish.

We ordered the Paella Matadero and the Gambas Al Ajillo. Both were delicious!…read more We went with high expectations for the paella and it honestly didn't miss! Loved every bite. We actually took a take-out box home because we couldn't finish it. We were surprised at how generous the portions were. Our server was lovely and was so quick to tend to our needs. The restaurant itself had beautiful decor and we are definitely going back for another date night.

Food was so good I forgot to take more photos!…read more We visited LaVinia last week for dinner. We ordered the grilled chorizo and ham croquettes tapas. The ham croquettes were delicious and paired with an amazing garlic aioli. The grilled chorizo was also great but the garlic aioli muted the chorizo taste unfortunately. We also had the arugula and pear salad which was topped with Stilton cheese. We really enjoyed it. For our main course, we ordered the seafood paella which was amazing and everything was cooked perfectly. We also enjoyed the mango cheesecake and lemon sorbet for dessert. The restaurant is tightly packed, intimate, and has a great atmosphere for a date night dinner or dinner with friends. The waiters were attentive and very helpful when ordered. The chef also came around near the end of our dinner to ask how our meal was.

Food: (5 stars) Tapas: - Croquetas de Iberico: Iberico Croquettes with Basil Oil - $18.95 (5 stars): My favorite thing on the menu, so creamy and tasty. - Mejillones al Vapor: Fresh Mussells Steamed in Spanish Beer - $15.75 (5 stars) My very close second favorite thing on the menu: amazing taste of the sauce. - Croquetas de Cangrejo: Crab Croquettes with a Piquillo Pepper Aioli - $17.95 (4 stars) - They were good but not as good as other things on the menu. - Calamares a la Plancha: Grilled Calamari with Chilli oil - $16.75 (4.5 stars) IT is a tad spicy, but great flavour and texture. Would recommend it. - Carpaccio de Ternera: Veal Carpaccio with Manchego and Mushrooms - $19.75 (4.5 stars) Great flavour and overlapping of the flavours. - Cazuela de Espinacas - Baked Spinach with Goat Cheese - $17.75 (4.5 stars) Very tasty and great mixture of all the flavours. Mains: All the mains are very large, definitely for more than 1 person. - Paella Valenciana: Spanish Saffron Rice with Chorizo, Chicken and Seafood - $26.75 (5 stars) the best of the main meals, the chorizo was giving it a really nice kick. - Paella de Marisco: Spanish Saffron Rice with Shrimp, Calamari, Mussels, Scallops, Monkfish and Clams $29.75 (4.5 stars) - lots of seafood, it was good a tad too runny - Arroz Verde: Scallops, Asparagus, Porcini Mushrooms, Spinach and Pesto $32.75 (3.5 stars): it was good, but too many mixed flavours, would likely not order again. Ambiance: (5 stars) They have indoor and outdoor dining. Outdoor has a thick wooden fence around it, so you do not feel like you are sitting on the street. Service: (5 stars) Very friendly staff, very attentive.

The service was fantastic and very friendly and welcoming. We had the 2 course set menu, adding wine and dessert a la carte. We enjoyed everything. The cod and the scallops dishes were delicious, and perfectly cooked. I also had the risotto - I'm not sure everyone would love the combination of flavours but I loved the different tastes and texture - very new to me. My husband had the salmon appetizer and again - just slightly different than the usual, and so very tasty. I must also mention the butter and bread. We finished the whole plate! I can't remember what they put in it but so so tasty!! Even the dessert was cool and different (baked apples but with foamed sheeps yogurt (or cheese?) and some spice I didn't recognize - very cool and yummy even though I don't usually like baked apples). Nice and light! Oh and the wine was great Would very much recommend this restaurant - I think it offers more unique flavours, combinations and plates. You can do a 2 course, or a four course set menu, with or without wine pairings. Apparently you can also order à la cart. I didn't know that before we had come in.
