We have been going to Que pasta for a long time. We have had good food and decent service. With so many restaurants around now, and many good, there is no reason to deal with marginal places. Recently my Mother was at Kessler, and we started going there again. The service had gotten worse if that was possible. We went three times while she was in therapy, and it seems they don't have experienced or not enough help. I have had better service at a Pizzeria.
We were there today, again, We keep giving it a chance thinking they just are having bad days. We placed our orders, and ordered coffee that was brought and no milk or sugar. I asked for it, and 10 minutes later I had to remind him again. In fairness the places was packed and they only had one waiter and another that didn't look experienced enough to handle any issues.
We ordered our appetizers and the restaurant started filling, when we saw that, and after our experiences there, we asked for more drinks, knowing it would take a long time to get the waiter back to our table.
We ordered the entrees and SPECIFICALLY said what we didn't want on our plate.. when 30 minutes later our meals come out.. they were wrong. I said please take them back.after being there a good hour and still nothing, we told them to cancel our order and to bring the check.
We waited and waited and were told sorry they were getting our check and still nothing.. I decided to stand up and start to move towards the door to see if anyone would bring the check, and thankfully I was handed the check.
I waited till the customers that were at the front counter had gone, to tell the owner/manager what happened to us. I believe that it is helpful for owners to know what is going on. and I didn't want to do it in front of people.
I placed an order for ravioli that they sell frozen to take home, and told the owner that we needed to speak to him.He said would be right back.. AGAIN we waited.. and waited.. finally the owners wife came out and said that he would be right out to take our money. She cant take money.. a little while later, she said OK I'll take the money from you. It was obvious that he didn't want to talk to us.. So I start to tell her my issues and she said that the young man that waited on us has been there 10 years and never got an order wrong.. I said that is not true and that is why I am trying to tell her this. We have had the wrong order before and just took it.I guess no one told her that another family walked out of the restaurant while we were there? Obviously no one has told you anything negative or she would not be answering this way. (in fairness there was only one waiter) the woman/owner was not receptive to anything I had to say.. as I was telling her what happened she got my changed and was making faces at me, when I called her on it she said they were not directed towards me.. I said we are the only two here.. I said it was OK.. that I would not be coming there at all anymore. I was not trying to make a scene, just wanted them to understand that they are shooting themselves in the foot by having lousy service, and terrible customer service,, she did not want to hear anything negative.
I now understand how they are still in business.. they are next door to a large rehab facility and people come to visit not knowing the area and eat there.
I am from the area and know that the Saddle Brook Diner has better service than this place.. there are also several pizzeria's in the area that might serve better. I will never go their with or without my family and friends. There are tons of restaurants, and way more reasonably priced. I have never written a review, but I am so disappointed with their customer service. For all of you that love this place, I used to as well.and for those of you that might be regulars, you can't tell us that you haven't noticed the decline in service and quality. I wish them the best of luck, and a little advice, LISTEN to your customers, They are giving you feedback, good or bad feedback is something that helps you improve where you are lacking..
