American Window undercut the estimates of the other two vendors by a substantial margin. We also really liked they only asked for a modest down payment. Jay was our sales contact at American Windows and he was absolutely great. He has an engaging personality, and kept all his commitments to us. We appreciated that when installation day came, he swung by to ensure all was going well. Oh, how did the installation go? It was fantastic. Not only did the windows and door come earlier than promised, the American Windows crew came on time and worked quickly and professionally. We were amazed that the whole job only took 4 1/2 hours to complete. The windows and door materials are high quality and we are very satisfied with the results.

He gave us repair ideas, explained potential causes, pointed us toward the right tools, and gave us contacts who could help. To top it off, his cuddly dog Wilson kept us company, and Phil even recommended a local spot for lunch since he knew we had a long drive. We are completely speechless at his kindness and support, despite not even being paying customers. Based on this first impression, we would work with Phil any day. But this experience has been very stressful and it didn't need to be. Communication between your office and myself was sub par at best. A phone call or two along the way would have fixed the problem but no one bothered until it was too late. The following is how I came up with my "generous" three star review. * First off, the sales rep (Kyle D) was very good. He spent a couple of hours with us, guided us through the selection process and saved us money where he could. His portion of the overall experience was worthy of (4 to 5) stars. * Next up was the Installation Project Manager, (Buster S). A big title but his contribution was minimal. He measured and said that he would "send a 3 to 4 man crew to perform the install which would take only one day." He said that he would "stay in touch throughout and follow up when the work had been completed."Ultimately, a one man team arrived (2 weeks late) and it took him two separate days to complete the install. I never heard from (Buster S) a single time after the day he measured. Not even to follow up when the job was complete. For his efforts I give one star. * Next was my interaction with the office staff. Not much went right with this group. Nice enough over the phone but screwed up at every turn. From not calling me to cancel & reschedule the original install date to misinforming me on product availability at the warehouse to short staffing the crew when the job did get done. It was a lot of phone tag, a lot of excuses and a lot of "we're sorry". This was by far the most stressful and disappointing part of the Andersen experience. And for that I also give one star. * After a (14) day delay on the install and our home completely dismantled for that same period of time. And after missing work and cancelling the carpet cleaners twice, the install crew finally arrived to do the work. To my dismay, a "crew of one". His name was (Michael P) and I tried to hide my anger that they had sent only one guy to a job that was originally meant for a (3-4) man team. At the same time, I was happy to have anyone show up at this point. As it turned out though, Michael was great. He did the work of two men anyway. He was a skilled pro. He was quiet, respectful, asked for nothing, never took a break and cleaned up after himself. And although it took him two days to perform the install, the work was completed and we couldn't be happier with the end product. His efforts were certainly worthy of five stars. * Lastly, I spoke to the Supervisor (Malina P). Our project was within her per-view as the team leader. After the initial communication breakdown, she stayed in contact with me until the job was completed. It wasn't always perfect but she politely listened to my concern(s) and ultimately was able to secure a $500 check for the various issues we experienced along the way. We received that check (57) days after the date of completion. Her efforts along with a talented salesperson and an expert install guy make this review worthy of three stars.

RESPONSIVENESS - very fast, very responsive, very professional. A tad too frequent, but apparently roof repair is a competitive business. INSPECTION - scheduled and conducted efficiently; exceptionally thorough inspection report (David). COST - in line with all other quotes, which are apparently driven by the insurance estimate. Green Oak differentiation included owner interaction, master roofer certification, 5 star rating, excellent warranty, professional documentation and workflow management. WORK - scheduled efficiently, material arrived on time the day before, crew arrived on time the day of, work was conscientious and completed in 3/4 day (townhome), clean-up (including loose nail hunt) was impressively thorough. AFTER - received certificate of completion in a timely manner, along with photo record of repaired roof. Not being a roofer, it's difficult to assess the integrity of the new roof & shingles, however the end result appears clean and professional. Suspect the new, high-quality roof will increase the townhome value and/or decrease time to sell based on the high-quality products used and overall curb appeal of the work. Overall quite satisfied with Green Oak. Recommend.

I reached out to Green Oak after searching on Yelp (s/o), and was extremely glad I did. Brian H. took me through the process from start to finish, including an insightful explanation of the insurance claim process. The free estimate happened within a few days and ended up being lower than the insurance-assessed quote. He recommended a roof "tune up" as part of the package without pushing or trying to upsell me for more, which i really appreciated. He also accommodated my inquiry of adding on the installation of a bathroom exhaust vent cap, which was missing when we moved in. After being extremely reasonable on pricing and lighting-fast on responses, they scheduled and completed the work the day after signing. The team was efficient and respectful, with a huge attention to detail. TL;DR - Highly recommend giving Brian and Green Oak Exteriors a shot to help fix your home exterior issues, especially when you are in a bind with your insurance company!

My project was complicated because my 1980s drywall shafts were the wrong size for modern solar blinds. Instead of just "making it work" or creating a huge mess with drywall dust, Zach proposed a brilliant custom solution: building a clean birch veneer box with custom trim. It looks stunning and kept my house completely dust-free. What impressed me most was Zach's integrity. During the install, a small piece of my old plastic molding snapped. Instead of ignoring it, Zach took full ownership and replaced the trim on both skylights with upgraded foam-backed wood molding at his own expense to ensure everything was airtight and uniform. It is not a simple fix but an upgrade, for free. See the attached before/after pictures and the broken plastic. Like most customers, I contacted a few contractors before selecting Winfield Builders.
