The Arborist with Arundel Tree came across as the most genuine, told us what needed to be done and what could wait. On top of that, their pricing seemed very competitive. Day of the job, the team arrived early with shiny new equipment, did a thorough pre-job confirmation and got to work. After the post-job walk-around, they mulched every branch and left the yard better than they found it. Highly recommended start to finish. My only gripe is the 3% markup on credit card payment... (At least let me earn those points!)

I should have looked more carefully at the reviews - there are some troubling ones in the filtered section, and almost all of the 5 star ones are from new Yelp accounts with barely any reviews. For example, they told us we could wait to have some privacy trees trimmed which made us feel like they weren't upselling us. They were great about making sure we involved our neighbors for a tree on the shared property line. They communicated well about timing of the work. On the day, a team of 4 or 5 guys came out bright and early and well equipped. They did a great job and put on an impressive climbing/ acrobat show for the neighborhood! They cleaned up the work well and got the job done efficiently.

There was a bit of an upfront delay as I waited to ensure their license was shown as active on the MD DNR website, but that is resolved now. Once past that, the work crew was out to my house within a day and they had the tree down and removed within about two hours. The stump grinder arrived an hour or so later and took care of all the stumps effectively. Benfield Tree Service's cost was competitive and the work was performed to my satisfaction so they'll be the first company I contact for similar jobs in the future and I recommend them.

We had a big Chestnut oak tree in our back yard that had started dying last year. It had really…read morewide, spreading branches and a thick trunk. It was also located at the top of a bank that leads down to a creek, so the location was tricky. We obtained four estimates before starting our project. Caliber exceeded the other tree companies in every way. Their proposal was professional, specific, and detailed, and they provided information about their licensing and insurance. Both Tim and Julian were very responsive to questions. We had some limitations about where they could go on the property with the heavy equipment, because of the location of our septic field. They put down mats and did their best to minimize the impact of their work on the yard. They used two crews so there were eight men working at once, but they coordinated their efforts so well, and every person was friendly and helpful. They chipped branches and hauled away all the huge trunk sections. I would recommend them very highly for more complicated jobs.
