I had driven for a year with my Jaguar XFR having trouble downshifting from second to first at stop lights. Another shop in Des Plaines said it would be $3,000 to $5,000 to open up the trans and do a visual inspection. This shop agreed that it may be that however they would see if there are other ways to Fix the car and they would evaluate the transmission with special scanning computers first. I'm so happy to have brought it to them because they fixed it in the matter of an afternoon, without needing to open the transmission. They reset the adaptations (which Jaguar wanted $$$$) but then refused to take the car due to mandatory $325 for inspection only. These guys are GREAT and successfully reset adaptation and gave me a print out of fault codes. MIKE said give it 500 miles to test and then call if any problems. Well Mike Thank You it has been over 1,000 miles now and it is perfect without shifting problems and for a fraction of the cost. Everything was a fraction of the cost and done professionally. I scheduled my fathers Audi which they also helped with tremendously. These guys are and will be my transmission specialists forever. The person working the front desk, Ed, was very polite and lighthearted, making conversations easy and enjoyable. He answered any and all questions that I had and I learned a lot since I did not know much about cars. They also have a 24 month warranty, which is included in all services. The place is also Repair PAL Certified. Both of their mechanics are certified by the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and are both Master Automobile Technicians. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience and worth it in time and money. When I went to get my car and mentioned that numbers didn't square up, front guy got flustered and said he was charging me just for labor ($200 plus just labor seemed excessive). I was in a rush and got the feeling that talking to a wall would be more productive then I paid and left feeling I was scammed (I got charged for the "courtesy" inspection too). I've taken my car to this place before and all was fine until this time. There are two other car mechanic shops near by, it's time to try them out.

It's amazing when you have a shop like this that is 1 mile from my home & they do both excellent body & mechanical work. Express is located on Elston Ave right across the street from Mariano's & 1 door east of the DMV. I've come to know most of the people in the office as well as the people doing the body & mechanical work. They do solid work at a competitive price. I've lived in this area for over 25 years & to locate a shop that does excellent work so close to home is awesome. For the most part they have been very responsive to my needs both for body & mechanical work. I have recommended a number of my family & friends as the quality of work is unquestionable. For me I appreciate the quick response & turn around time for a most of the time a reasonable price. This is a family run business that does excellent work. Give them a try you won't be disappointed. If you're deciding to go to this shop read this fully first. Absolute garbage shop. I would never…read morego here. If you have any high end car, especially a German I would not take it here. If you want it done right this is not the place. I would say if your car doesn't have rust on it I wouldnt take it here. Took my car here to get my exhaust done and the owner first of all came up with a random price. They never measured anything and the parts weren't even looked over since if they did measure or check the parts they would know one of the parts were faulty and not to start, very unprofessional for a exhuast shop that deals with tons of after market exhausts. They then cut a perfectly good pipe instead of the broken one so the broken one can fit. On my car there were two braces that hold the old exhaust and also fit to hold my new one as told in the website I bought from. They somehow put my exhaust on so it wouldn't even fit. I took it to another shop 5 months later to do some adjusts and an actual professional shop told me the damage that was done to my car. They told me the welds were terrible and that the shop should've measured the exhaust in first. I went under the car myself and felt leaks everywhere. I saw the welds when ace mufflers finished my exhaust but I didn't know how it shouldve looked like and was never under the car when It was running to feel the leak. I mean there were leaks everywhere, every connection to a pipe there was a leak THIS EXHUAST SHOP DOENST EVEN KNOW HOW TO DO WHAT THEY ARE MEANT TO DO. If they reply to my review they will most likely say I'm lying. There are plenty of other shops out there. Go to a shop that isn't a one name shop, since they don't have any higher up, no receipts they give you, no invoices, nothing for you to show them so you can get a refund for the shitty job they did. I also bought my exhaust off of AWE and when I came for them for a refund the owner said "we only do warranty for 90 days for for labor and 1 year for for parts" yeah what parts, the ones I bought? The actual, professional shop I went to told me if the welds were even half decent they would've never cracked even after a year but it's not they they were cracked, it just wasn't fully welded. I asked for a refund but of course ace mufflers are scammers and don't give refunds for their terrible jobs. Take your shop anywhere than here.
