Great job at a very fair price! Larry was extremely responsive throughout the process, from initial bid to completion. I don't think I ever had to wait longer than 10 minutes for a callback and he usually answered on the initial call. Any questions were answered promptly. Work was done a couple weeks ago and we've had a couple rainstorms and some snow and so far so good. And I have complete confidence if any issues do arise, Larry and his team will get right on it. I am very pleased to come across Larry. I had a great experience from the moment I spoke to him over the phone. He picked up the phone right away and was able to come to my house on a short notice. Larry helped me out with a roof leak I had two years ago. I was so happy with his work that I hired him again to replace the roof on the rest of my house as well as replace two roof windows that were over 30 years old. Again, I was very pleased with the results. The price was also good. Even in the midst of the pandemic, his entire staff members were careful and followed the guidelines set to minimize the risk of spreading the virus. Larry's crew are probably the most obnoxious group of men I have ever encountered. When they arrived I told them to please be as careful as possible of the gardens around my house. I knew some damage would be inevitable, but asked them to try to avoid the bushes where ever possible. Within five minutes one worker had planted a ladder right in the middle of a rose bush, even though there was about four feet on either side completely clear. I asked him to please move his ladder and he laughed and rolled his eyes at me. He wouldn't move it until I got the foreman involved. I have an elderly couple who live quite close to me and they are very nice people, but particular about their yard. I had told Larry when he came by for his initial estimate that under no circumstances was any debris to end up in their yard and he told me that it wouldn't be an issue. About midday I received a call from my neighbor in tears. It seems that some of Larry's crew had actually climbed over my neighbor's fence and were in her yard. She told them to leave and not to come back. The crew then called the police on my neighbor and lied that she was harassing them. I had to come home from work to deal with the situation. When I arrived I found roofing nails and shingles all over my neighbor's yard. While I was apologizing to her, another member of Larry's crew jumped over her fence and came into her yard. I went to find the foreman to ask why he had called the cops on my neighbor. He replied that she was yelling at his men for no reason. I told him that his men were trespassing on my neighbor's property and throwing trash in her gardens. He then told me that he didn't care what his guys were doing, she should "shut her mouth." Larry at this point had disappeared and would not reply to voice mails. For the rest of the day I had to stand guard at my property line to make sure none of the crew went into my neighbor's yard or threw trash over her fence. Every time they passed me I got a smirk or some comment in Portugese that I'm pretty sure was not complimentary. Later in the day I saw one of them go behind a rhododendron in the back so he could urinate. I didn't even have the energy to object. At the end of the day, I went to the front of the house to inspect the work. I live in an Arts & Crafts house that has a lot of decorative 100+year old woodwork around the windows. Larry's crew had ripped out all this woodwork on the dormers, and above the front and back porch roofs so that they could install metal flashing. To fill in the gaps they had made, they nailed plain pieces of wood to the bottom of the windows. So now the tops of the windows didn't match the bottom and there was still a gap of around four inches above the porch roofs where the silver metal was clearly visible. Larry magically appeared at the end of the day to collect the rest of the payment. When I told him how his group had called the police on my neighbor when she objected to their trespassing he was, to his credit, apologetic. We then went on a damage tour around my house. Bushes had been flattened to the ground, nails and shingles were all over the driveway and grass, and three sections of my flagstone patio had been smashed. Larry offered me a $100 rebate to cover the damage. After a lot of back and forth, I finally got him up to $500. The carpenter ended up charging me over $1000 to repair the window frames and dormers, and I had to spend a few hundred dollars to fix the patio and replace the bushes. To add insult to injury, it took them days to remove their dumpster from my driveway. I got three estimates for this job, and Larry's was the cheapest by far. That should have been a warning. read more

Such a disappointing experience! On three separate days I spoke with Larry. Each time he promised to send a crew to look at our roof. Each time, they failed to show up. Each time, Larry failed to call me to explain why. Reading the other reviews, his team sounds like they are capable of good work. It would have been nice to have the opportunity to see some of that....or for Larry to at least have the courtesy to refer me elsewhere, instead of making three separate commitments that were not kept. read more

When he said he could come by on Monday, I mentioned that a home buyer was starting to balk because they didn't know the age of the roof, and more importantly, the useful life that the roof had left. I am so happy and lucky to have met Larry. I am a first home owner and I am overwhelmed with the responsibility of maintaining a 80+ year old home. From the first phone call Larry was very pleasant to talk to. We scheduled an appointment to give an estimate to replace my roof. He came right on time. He came very well prepared with all my roof dimensions taken by satellite images and he came and verified and showed me that the satellite images are correct and accurate. Then after he checked my roof. He told me. Your roof is fine. Nothing wrong with it. Why you need to spend money on changing your roof now. I had 4 other contractors and they all scared me that my roof needs to be changed immediately and they were trying to squeeze me to do my roof at the end of October (The weather starts to get cold in Massachusetts at that time of the year). I will add not only Larry did not recommend changing my roof. His price was the lowest in comparison to all the other contractors. He explained to me how the GAF warranty works and he told me what are the things he needs to do in order to get the proper ventilation for my room so that the warranty is honored by GAF. Larry told me, if this is my roof I would not do it at the time of the year and your roof is perfectly fine. You still have several years before you need to change it. Larry knows about everything in construction. I had the best two hours of honest discussion about what are the things that I need to do and things that i can postpone for my new home. We had Larry come over as the first of our planned 5 estimates by roofers. After speaking with him, I was so impressed that I canceled our other appointments. Larry picked up a tablet, entered our address, and got a satellite image of our roof which immediately calculated the square footage of our roof. I was blown away. He left me an impressive package of roof samples and choices of available features and descriptions of the GAF Gold Warranty and Larry's certification as a GAF Presidents Club roofer. I have called many contractors and left messages on answering machines, etc., but when I called Larry, I always got his cell and he answered "This is Larry" and answered all of my questions without hesitation. hesitation. His estimate was very fair, considering the materials and the Gold Warranty. We scheduled the work for a Monday expecting to find a some signs of the work, but returning home at 4PM, the new roof was installed and the yard was perfect. My husband and I reached out to Larry and his assistant Garrett for Dormers, Roofing and Siding. Garrett was able to come to our house very quickly and told us it would be 2 weeks for a quote. After 2 1/2 MONTHS of sending email after email to them and phone calls as well... they have made up a handful of excuses why they have not been able to get us a quote and then tell us they will send it shortly and here we are 2 1/2 months later. NO QUOTE. NO BUSINESS. We have thousands and thousands of dollars worth of renovations that they clearly do not want. read more

During the winter, a few drops of water got through at one of the flashings on our roof. I was convinced that we have to fix it, and since the house and the roof was 17 years old, I was thinking that it may be better to just replace the roof. I called a number of companies, described the problem, and they really all wanted replace the entire roof. Larry arrived, had a look at our roof, and right away determined that it should be good for another 13 years, since it is still in good shape, and it is unlikely that we will have again such a bad winter. No other company was nearly as honest, they all wanted me to replace the roof. I am very grateful to Larry for his honest opinion. We hired Quality Roofing to replace our roof in 2012 in Winchester MA. The job was done in one day on 10/3/2012. I was having concern about the job quality as it was a day with light rain. The workers did not finish job until it was dark around 8pm. I was not particular happy that there was some debris left around the house after roofing was done, and some of my flowers around the house was damaged. So far, the new roof has not caused any issue, except that we see a few water marks in the ceiling of the 2nd floor, which I suspect may come from that day. Later on, we found that the contractor did not pull the permit for this job (the contract we signed with Quality Roofing says the contractor will pull the permit). We did mention this to the contractor after we found it out. To my disappointment, the permit is still not being pulled as I checked with the building department of my town today (7/29/2014). read more
