Chris and Sarah were amazing! They were so flexible in scheduling and Chris was so responsive via text messaging. Their work was top notch and they were so friendly throughout the entire process. I will definitely be using them again in the future. Cannot praise this company enough! read more

My wife and I recently moved and there were several items noted during our inspection that we wanted a licensed electrician to repair/update. After reading the reviews online and talking to Chris over the phone, we hired him and his crew. When Chris got onsite, he pointed out several items and he said he would get as much done as they could that night, but they may need a second trip to get everything done which I was fine with. The first night he performed a panel check/find and replaced several breakers in my electrical panel. He asked for payment that night which I agreed to and he said he would send a detailed invoice along with the results of the panel find. During his second trip, Chris and I had agreed that his crew would repair one outlet and install two new outlets. Chris said they would finish everything that day and said they would work as late as they had to to get it done. Two hours later, while I was talking with a different contractor, Chris rudely interrupted my conversation (two separate times) and said his crew was done for the day, was unable to complete everything and he needed payment. When I asked him why he was unable to finish, he said his crew decided to leave. When I asked Chris why he promised to get everything done that day and then sent his crew home after two hours of work (Chris was in his van the whole time and could have finished it himself), he got defensive and said he couldn't control their schedule. I was annoyed, but we agreed to schedule a third follow up appointment. On the third appointment, I asked Chris to also look at light switch that was working before his crew was there, but wasn't after he left, he got defensive and said his crew didn't touch that switch. It wasn't until he came over and acknowledged that he was the one that was responsible for turning off the socket and that is why it wasn't working. He also said he didn't like the dialogue between us, so he wanted to end the business relationship without finishing the items we had discussed fixing. He also said he should have charged me a fixed fee vs an hourly rate because it would have been more beneficial to him. By this time, I had already paid Chris for two days of service and had not received the results of the panel find or a detailed invoice. I agreed that if he could send me the panel find and the invoice, we would be done. I followed up with Chris for a month for the panel find and asked him for a credit if he was not going to provide. Chris refused to provide a credit and threatened legal action against me if I were to contact my credit card company and ask them to reverse the charges. Chris finally provided the panel find after one month from the date of service and within the document there were several errors. He labeled certain rooms to wrong panels and i am still in the process of re-doing his work. I never received an invoice for the work. read more

The night of the 25th we all got hit with an icy snowstorm. I somehow managed to blow the main breaker in my home( not my fault I think!). I lost all electricity to my home which included heat!!!! I could not get a technician out here and found a yelp review for Quality Residential. Chris answered promptly and took the time to go over the issue inside my home. He quickly assessed the issue and was able to trouble shoot the problem. My home is old and requires TLC! I'm so thankful for the work Chris did And i highly recommend him!!! Without his service I would still be without HEAT! THANK YOU! read more

Wonderful experience with Chris. He went so far beyond the call of duty during the work he did for us... came late at night after a branch pulled down our power line, and back the next morning ... explained everything in generous detail in messages when I had many follow up questions re: insurance, safety, etc. He's very busy and in demand for a reason. Would highly recommend him: standup guy who does solid work. read more

Fantastic experience. Chris was super responsive by phone and text. He came out the next day to make a repair in my 100-year-old bungalow, which presents many challenges to an electrician. He talked through everything with me and worked fast. The quality was top-notch, and the cost was super reasonable. read more

I'm so glad to have found Chris and team - they have been very helpful on a couple of projects for our home, and I'll be going back to them for any projects in the future too. Chris is a very highly skilled professional who spots issues and explains options and solutions clearly. Pricing was reasonable, especially given the top level of service delivered. I'll be recommending Quality Residential Electrical to family and friends. read more

The world needs more business owner like Chris. Honest, helpful and professional. Thank you so much

Very impressive: friendly, efficient service that was timely and well-priced. Fixed my switches that were old and broken on a Saturday morning. No qualms with my loud dogs (who get a little crazy barky when crated). Will definitely call again with any and all of my electrical needs. read more

I had spoken with Chris on the phone about a problem, and he was very nice on the phone and tried to assist me with possible solutions. I booked an appointment with him and told him I would let him know if his idea worked if I could fix it on my own. I texted him several times to get advise,(and didn't get a text back) and left him a voicemail message letting him know that I would still need the appointment. He never showed up and didn't answer the phone when I called him the day of the appointment. I realize that he is busy and can't return calls right away, but it would be nice to return it at some point. read more

Chris is super knowledgeable and extremely helpful. He is passionate about his work. It is rare to find contractors care and aren't in for themselves. I was looking to upgrade my garage outlet to accommodate my electric car and calling around to obtain quotes. It was wonderful to get valuable advises from Chris. Most of the electricians I called were not friendly at all. Chris took the time to explain the process and what to look for when hiring an electrician. Highly recommend to give Chris a call at 773-415-3623. read more

Chris is an extremely professional and responsive electrician. I would highly recommend his team to anyone needing some work done.

Chris was great. Some of lights in the house started going on and off randomly, and so we called to have it checked out. He came by in 15 minutes. Chris determined it was a ComEd issue with intermittent service coming into the house. Called ComEd and they came out to fix it that night. Highly recommend him. read more

We had an appointment scheduled for 2/9/2019 and we were blown off. No courtesy call telling us they were not coming or asking if we wanted to reschedule. I called 3 times, left 2 voicemails and a text and did not get a response. We secured parking for them in our building which could have been used by someone else had we received noticed they weren't coming. Since the appointment was for a Sunday we talked to our neighbors to make sure any noise wouldn't be an issue. We waited for them all afternoon and it burned up our whole day waiting. 100% unprofessional. A couple months ago they did work that we were pleased with, however to just blow off an appointment and not bother to send a text or call letting us know they can't make it is unacceptable. This should be a 0-zero star review. read more

Not only lives up to, but SURPASSES the hype! Chris (Owner) is the kind of professional you always hope one day you'll be able to work with, and I haven't even met the guy. Let me explain: I was doing a garage facelift over the weekend, and there has always been a switch hanging by the wires from the back wall of the garage with no wallplate. I've never touched it in the few years we've been here, until the other day when something brushed it, heard a fuse pop and the garage lights went out. Since I will never be accused of being an electrician and my one solution of switching the main breaker off and back on didn't work, I hopped on Yelp, looked through a bunch of electricians, finally calling Chris based on the reviews. After listening to my story, this guy spends 45 minutes on the phone with me, describing in wonderful detail exactly what I should look for when I get home, how to address it when found and then sends me pictures of what I was looking for to make sure I was clear. I hung up the call with a page of notes and pictures on my phone of precisely how to resolve my problem. I get home from work, follow his instructions and send him a picture of my electrical box as requested. I get a text 5 minutes later of, "Sorry, in class can 't call now. But, 6th switch down on the left hand side. Move that to the right and back to the left and you should be good to go." 1 minute later, all electricity was back on! HE DID ALL OF THIS ON THE PHONE, SO I WOULDN'T HAVE TO SPEND ANY MONEY. They do not make professionals like this anymore. He easily could have said he needed to come out to look at it, charged me to do so and I would have happily paid. It would have been the easiest job of his week. But he took almost a collective hour out of his day to solve an issue of a guy he has never met or accepted any job from. This is how you do business. read more

Called and told them I had a circuit that kept tripping. He was able to troubleshoot and diagnose the issue over the phone, which ended up being a power strip. It saved me money since he never actually came to visit, but I know now I'll be sure to call these guys in the future. Super helpful and honest. read more

After contacting over a dozen electricians in the Chicagoland area to install smart switches into my home, Quality Residential Electrical stood above the rest because of Chris. Instead of quickly providing an uneducated ballpark estimate, Chris asked the right questions, looked at photos, listened to his customer, and talked through the intended result to make the best recommendation. The effort he put forth before I even hired him earned my trust, my business, and my future recommendation to anyone looking for an electrician. While on the job, he was conscious of the time and budget constraints, so I could tell he kept that in mind while not sacrificing the quality of work delivered. My situation involved installing Z-wave smart switches in a variety of configurations like four way circuits, which differs from traditional installations. Chris' attention to detail and instruction was much appreciated. If you have an electrical job in mind or just a question, stop reading this review and contact Chris now! read more

Chris is an amazing businessman. Everyone typically charges for their services. Chris answered the phone, listened to my electrical problem, asked me several questions, requested some pics, and had me try several remedies. All this done, my problem was solved! I cannot wait to tell my friends and family about their new go to electrician! He is less interested in a bill than your trust and loyalty! Quality is redefined, this is a brilliant business model! Thank you Chris! read more

Chris was incredibly helpful and responsive. Although we didn't end up hiring him because the things we needed done were more "handyman" type jobs, he was very knowledgeable and professional. He even continued to respond to my inquiries several days after meeting us and realizing we didn't actually need an electrician for our projects. We would absolutely contact him again if we ever need electrical work. read more

I realized a couple of years ago the circuit breaker box was causing us problems. I delayed replacing it because I had heard the potential cost. Finally, we could not delay any longer. I had seen that Quality Residential electric had great reviews and called. Chris came as soon as he finished with the previous client and did not disappoint! It turned out that our "box" was very good quality but the previous owners had used the wrong circuit breakers and that was contributing to the problem. He explained everything to me ( man, did I learn a lot!). The price was dramatically less than I thought it would be. He was a little late, and that is to be expected if the electrician is working on someone else's home before yours. There are often a few surprises. But he did come and complete the work in the time frame he had promised. We are so grateful. His assistant John was great as well.Neither of them talk down to you. They also made a few other safety suggestions. All in all, I definitely would call him again in the future! read more

Project quoted swiftly and Chris provided a ton of great info!! Still working through the project scope but a terrific experience so far!!

On Saturday my breaker box went out. Chris told me not to worry he will figure out the problem and will be at my home in the evening. He figured out the problem in 5 mins and walked me thru the issue. He did not try to have me do anything else just what was needed. I can't wait to have him do some more things for me. Highly recommended him, read more

Excellent workmanship and very diligent in providing grounding mechanisms to prevent fires.

Chris knows his stuff, is clearly very knowledgeable, and cares about his customers. He is also very flexible with timing, and works on weekends and holidays. He responded to my message on Yelp, and was helpful even before we actually hired him! We'll certainly be calling him back whenever we need an electrician. read more

Responsive, easy to work with, flexible, on time, cleans up, friendly, funny too! We really enjoyed working with Chris and his team and have used them twice already in our kitchen remodel. Next year we will bring him back for more work. I like having an electrician I can contact and get quick great results! read more

I use Chris for all of my electrical needs! Most people in the trade are hard to work with, but Chris is fair and reliable. He always comes prepared with the material needed for the day, and he keeps a lot of it organized neatly in his truck. He is available seven days a week which works great for someone with a busy schedule like mine. Overall I'm incredibly happy with the service he provides, and I always recommend him to friends and family! read more

I hired Quality Residential Electrical to replace an outdated and hazardous electrical panel in my Skokie condominium and I would not hesitate to hire them again. Chris and his team were responsive, knowledgeable, and performed quality work on a quick time frame. I would highly recommend Quality Residential Electrical after previously using a more expensive and less responsive North Shore provider. Quality Residential explained the process of the panel replacement, addressed additional safety items that I was unaware of, completed the work on time and was respectful of my home. While it can be hard for an electrician to do so, Chris and his team exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend them. read more

Very experienced and professional. They were quick to respond and gave an honest and thorough evaluation and estimate. I would recommend this place if you are in search of good quality electrical work. read more

I was very impressed by the work they did. Came the next day on time and very professional. I would refer them to anyone.

We needed some help replacing a breaker box, and contacted Chris. He got back to us in minutes on a Sunday with lots of helpful information. Due to our residence in the City of Chicago, Chris was unable to do the work for us, but provided numerous resources to verify electrical contractor licenses in the city and how to cross reference between that and Yelp. All of this was done simply to help us, without any fees - GREAT GUY, a rare find competence, work ethic, and generous. Thanks again Chris, we are very appreciative. read more

I had an electrical issue in my garage. Chris talked me through some trouble shooting over the phone. He was extremely helpful and YES got my issue resolved. So thankful. I will definitely be calling Chris for all my electrical problems again. read more

I have called them twice with questions and both times he has fixed the problem for me for free! They were easy fixes he could walk me through that I couldn't figure out on my own. He easily could've come over and charged me a few hundred bucks each time. A very honest man and he is now saved in my contacts where I will never call anyone else if I need help. Thank you! read more

I highly recommend Chris for any electrical project or emergency. We had a random power outage in just a couple of rooms in our house (kitchen, living room). I called Chris because he was available after hours. As I attempted to explain the problem he told me he was going to try and avoid me having to spend any money and tried to help over the phone. He asked for photos of my fuse box and talked my husband through a number of things he could do/look for in attempts to solve the problem. Ultimately, it was poorly done wiring by the previous homeowners. Chris made a house call and diagnosed the problem. He could've easily repaired the wiring, which would've cost hundreds of dollars. Instead, he advised us that Com Ed could and should repair it for free (which they did). After advising us to call Com Ed to address the problem, he even spoke to the Com Ed rep rather than us trying to fumble through an explanation of the problem. Chris even called today to confirm that our power was restored. Professional, knowledgeable, and caring. Thank you, Chris! read more

Outstanding! Chris provided the most professional and expert service. Installed ceiling fan to work perfectly (easier said than done). A pleasure to work with someone who is prepared and efficient. Nice to see mentoring of a young female apprentice in such a male dominated field. Would highly recommend as light years beyond competitors that I have used. Thank you! read more

A consummate professional. After dealing with electrical gremlins in my a/c unit for weeks and thinking the problem was solved, I'm thankful I found Chris. Chris came out, on a Sunday no less, found and diagnosed what was giving me issues. Furthermore, before even coming out, on my first call to him, he asked what the problem was to see if he could help me over the phone, at no cost. After diagnosing the problem, Chris came out the next day (on his day off) and fixed the problem and did it the right way, not the half-assed way it couldve been fixed by many other electricians. He will be the first and last call whenever I have an electrical issue. He is utterly professional, honest, and great guy to boot. read more

Installed extra electric line, from sump pump (only) to breaker box; replaced old breakers; advised on subsequent sump arrangements; etc. Utterly professional. read more

Simply put, Chris is a homeowners dream! He is ethical and reasonably priced. We weren't getting electricity to out Family Room and Chris came the same day. He stayed for 6 hours and because he couldn't figure out the problem, he did not charge us! We then called another electrician, and after about 15 minutes, he informed us that he would replace all the wiring for a little over $3000! Because Chris knew our house after 6 hours and said that he thought he was getting close to figuring out the problem, we called him back. Chris figure that if it was just rewiring, he could rewire at half the other electrician's price. When he came over it was still bugging him that he couldn't figure it out. After about an hour, he figured out the problem! The final cost was only $500! His tenacity and expertise is impressive and with his ethical pricing he has won us over! He will be our permanent electrician, and we can't endorse him more strongly! read more
