Hired this company to do a simple rock wall and steps. As of now they are falling apart 3 years later at many locations. One step did not have enough support under it and my wife nearly broke her back stumbling on it, when it gave way. I am so totaling disappointed in this companies work. Rocks are falling off the wall sporadically now, even on light package deliveries from Amazon. The flagstone steps have risen and fallen all over the place, with every joint crack compromised already. I should have watched things closer. It looked fine on completion, but masonry work is all in the mix. It is all about how rocks are applied and how steps are supported by what's underneath them. Obviously, the mix lacked the right proportions of sand, Portland cement, water and a bit of mortar to form a good glue bond for the rocks. Another error was that the rock surface obviously was not clean. Nor were the rocks "water misted" when putting the rocks in place...it's so obvious now (but too late), how this tragedy of a job has happened. I trusted this work to be completed to at least a fair standard but not to this degree of a disheveled mess. I'll have to spend thousands to have it all repaired and it's only been three years since it was built new. The owner even had the stones to ask me for $500 more during the job, reasoning granite flagstone have gone up in price. The job was 1/2 done and if I disagreed, he probably would have walked with the place in a complete excavational bedlam. I agreed hoping at least, the job would be done right, with some sense of honor, being that I had just granted him cordially, his requote request. The crew were very nice and worked very hard surely, but the owner did not enforce nor oversee the proper methods to building a simple retaining wall and steps here. I've built walls 10 times as big 30 years ago and my work still holds up to this day and still looks completely intact. This company at least on this job, failed miserably. Don't be fooled by the initial look of the work when you hand him your check. There could be a deeper sorrow awaiting you, in a few years, when you have to pay all over again, to get it repaired. read more

His 5-person crew was so professional, highly skilled and hard working (it was obvious they had worked together for years). We had Quality Landscaping complete a project to widen our driveway. Because of the contour of the yard a stone retaining wall had to be extended along two sides of the new driveway. After we signed the contract we were expecting a bit of a wait for the work to begin and we were pleasantly surprised to hear the crew out there at 7:15 the very next morning. (Wayne told me that he wanted to get started before the cold weather sets in) During the afternoon of the second day the crew was all finished! The jobsite was left super clean, the stone wall looks absolutely gorgeous and blends so nicely into the existing old wall that everything looks like it's been there 'forever'. Just an absolutely perfect job and I can't recommend Wayne and Quality Landscaping more highly. They really are the best! read more

Worst kind of contractor: a bottom feeder who fishes for clients that don't know any better. This guy quotes me 7k for a retaining wall 12 inches high about 15 feet long, for a job that involves minimal excavating, if any. For a comparison, We recently had 2,000 square ft of paving done for $5,400, including removal of old materials. read more

Not sure where the other reviewer is coming from. Wayne did a top notch job with my total relandscaping project, including new grass, sprinklers, dozens of new plantings. Fast, clean, flexible, done to specification. Decent prices as well. If you work with him, I recommend bring on his partner Rachel, who does the landscape designs and, if she's on board, acts as foreman of the project. She'll handpick all the plantings at the source and be there when they are installed. Can't recommend highly enough, he goes the extra mile. read more

I called for 3 tons of 3/4" granite for my drive way. Was quoted 30.95 a ton. Went to pick up; when we got there they tried to charge $49.95 a ton. When asked to honor the price they quoted they refused. Do not waste your time driving to this company THEY ARE ANYTHING BUT QUALITY. They lie to get you to waste your time driving there and then think because you already wasted your time driving there you will buy from them at their inflated prices anyway. First time I called, I left a message with the answering service and received a prompt call back--within hours. I was pleased with the response. HOWEVER we made an appointment time to do an estimate. Wayne was a no show, no call. I thought perhaps there had been a misunderstanding and called again... again leaving a message with the answering service about the no show and requesting a call back. Had several companies come and give me quotes for installing a paver patio as well as some general yard clean up. Wayne's quote was very competitive compared to the others but what really won us over was the fact he took the time to fully explain everything and answered all of our questions in great detail...how the work would be done, the materials he would use, why those materials made sense for our specific needs, etc. He even suggesting some alternative ideas to keep the project in our budget. His crew showed up on time, finished the project within the time frame promised, and most importantly transformed our backyard into a beautiful space we're now proud to show off. To build the patio he had to move a very small (1ft), uneven, crumbling rock wall a few feet back. To keep cost down I told them to keep it simple...I was expecting it to look good but WOW! They build a gorgeous 2ft high stone wall, twice as long as it was before, perfectly straight, and super level all the way across. It was all dry-stacked but every single stone was placed perfectly so it's incredibly strong & stable....they even wrapped it around the edges of the patio which really made the whole thing (wall & patio) look amazing. Very pleased with how everything came out and would definitely use Wayne again for future projects! read more
