We are thrilled to have had Wilfredo and Caesar with us for fall 2023. We waited on the review until the grass, shrubs, and trees came in Spring 2024. We hired the team to begin work 'terraforming' our hillside property after a number of bids finding AA&B to provide the most comprehensive estimate and their willingness to work with us on such a large project. The only flat space on the property was very close to the street. The property dropped one full story from front to back of the house and then again another story about 8 feet away from the back of the house to the back lower property boundary. We are at the top hill on our street so the property also fell away towards our neighbors down the street. We discussed options to install retaining walls to transform the hillside to flat yard with retaining walls as two tiers on the South side with our neighbors, west side along ~80 feet of the back of property, and a bit on the north side to enclose the lower 'basement' level backyard. We had two gates installed either side of the house with a wide stairway down to the lower level on the south side. We had our gutters in the back and off the mudroom buried. To complete the project we had six foot stockade or semi-private fencing installed to ring the side and back yards. Work began in October and was finished in two months time on this massive project. We appreciate Wilfredo for his thoughtful comments and suggestions (excavation is discovery and you never know what lurks under the surface) and Caesar, 'the strongest man in the world'. We are so thankful to have discussed the project years ago with Wilfredo and very much appreciate all that they did for us. The photos do not show just how changed the property is. Wilfredo and his team were very professional and reasonable. I replaced two columns in my front entrance with natural stone slabs with concrete, demolished and rebuild two retaining walls in the side of my driveway while adding downspouts, and also replaced over 2,000+sq at 3 inches deep of asphalt driveway. The job was completed at the stated time frame and the manager, Wilfredo, was present during the whole duration of the project. We hired AA&B in March 2021 to completely design & redo our back yard, and to rebuild our front walkway. It was a pretty big project. We had giant tree stumps to remove, asphalt to be ripped up, ground to be leveled, and a fence to be replaced. They built us a beautiful patio, created a level area for the pool, put up a new fence, rebuilt a pathway in the front with pavers, built a raised bed along the front walkway for flowers & the like, and even incorporated a space for a vegetable garden in the back. They helped us select and then planted all the trees and shrubs. I loved that they improved on our ideas - if I wanted something done that wasn't really doable or realistic for the space, Wilfredo found a way to adjust the idea to make it work. Wilfredo, Cesar and the rest of the team are very knowledgeable and easy to work with. They were neat, on time, and so pleasant. The only delay we had was the delivery of the fence, which was totally out of their control because of COVID, shipping delays, lack of materials due to demand, etc. Other than that 1 week fence delay, everything was done as promised & on time. I'm absolutely in love with our new & improved backyard. After plenty of experiences with disappointing contractors, it's extremely refreshing to have a company show up on time, do their jobs very well, and to be there if you have questions or issues after the fact. We hired Wilfredo to open up our sprinkler system. He taught my husband how to troubleshoot the system in case something goes wrong through the season. We were very pleased with his willingness to get the job done shortly after we planted grass. Our usual company was too busy so we looked for an alternative. I am really happy to be the first one to write a Yelp review for Wilfredo and his team at AA & B Landscaping! They did a "Full Fall Cleanup" for us (front and back yard) and we really needed it. We'll definitely call on them again. To begin, I reached out to a couple of landscapers listed on the BBB site and never even got a call back. Then I turned to Yelp and chose AA & B Landscaping mainly because of their location (they are based not too far from my home in East Boston), though I was a little concerned not to see any reviews. However, I'm so glad I did. I sent AA & B an email inquiry for a quote and Wilfredo responded first thing the next morning with a call. We made a weekend appointment and he arrived right on time to assess the work that needed to be done, offering us his professional opinion (he was familiar with rose bushes, fruit trees, and other plants we needed worked on). He gave us what we feel is a fair estimate for the full day's work we needed done. When it came to do the actual work, he and his employee were there, working, just as they said they would be. I found them in the thick of my front yard as I was on my way out the door to go to work. It has been four years since we moved to our house and neither my husband nor I are very skilled gardeners. We've done our best to prune every year but we don't have the skills, equipment or time to really do the work right. It's no surprise then that after several years, our pear tree was really overgrown, our vines were clinging to the cable wires,our ivy was sticking to the wall/windows and overgrowing, and we had small maple trees growing where they didn't belong (one of our neighbors has a maple that has been sending its seed around). Our climbing roses/bushes were much, much too big and tangled as well. It was time to call in some professional help! When I returned home everything was clear & cleared away. We wanted aggressive trimming and they listened to our request. Both yards looked tidy and neat and ready for the winter and spring next year. Wilfredo was polite, attentive and knowledgeable.
