Stain on one of the blankets

A good amount of the staff was rude during our trip. They gave a lot of attitude. Our room had torn curtains. One of the blankets on the bed had a yellow stain on it. The a/c also made funny sounds. The freezer of the mini fridge was dirty when we arrived. The microwave looks like it has a cigarette burn on it too... A male staff member told me that my 8 month old daughter can't go into the pool (even with a swimming diaper on), even though none of the signs in the pool area state that. Oh also, if you rent a room here and want to use the pool, you need wrist bands to let the staff know you're a guest here (but the front desk people didn't mention that). Good luck is you rent a room here. I don't recommend it. Wish my family could get our money back. We will never come back to this place. One of the other hotel guest here told me that she has been complaining to the staff that her room's shower/tub has a leak for three days and they haven't done anything to fix it.

cat scratched chair

This past weekend was the annual Consignment Trip Shopping weekend. (There were 5 women) We'd stayed here for 5 years prior to COVID. It was never top shelf but this year was different! We requested adjoining rooms but received room next to each other but not adjoining, so back to the front desk. That was fixed! Our room had a moldy shower curtain, filthy rung but the worst was the bathtub! It had a plastic liner put in and it wasn't sealed properly so while you were showering it was like standing on a water bed! I almost fell out of the tub! The adjourning room had a chair that had been used as a scratching post by a cat. Filthy rug & clean but stained towels. The stairway rugs were beyond filthy & had holes, the crushed cookie was there from arrival on Friday to check out on Sun. In addition, the "breakfast" was deplorable, (sour waffles, weak coffee, inedible eggs). The topper was when we realized on Sunday that the back door from the parking lot had not been locked since our arrival! I spoke with the front desk about several issues and she smiled and said, "Oh, that door is never locked!" and "OK" NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Disgusting ! At first I thought it wasn't going to be half bad .. that the good deal I got was actually a score .. and then I found the pillow with blood stain and the shower with the left over hairs !! Clearly not cleaned. The housekeeping staff should spend some more time doing their job instead of yelling up and down the halls to each other about the door stopper at 8:05 in the morning so you can't sleep if you wanted to!! Don't waste your money!

Didn't really use the hotel wifi either, although I think one of my friends had to hook up to her laptop for work.

He truly went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay! From the adults to the four legged member of our family! He was very quick, attentive, and informative! From information concerning the property it's self to adventures and restaurants near by! He made sure my children had water while working out and came to check on us in the pool to make sure we had towels! He truly was a great part of our stay and the last night we got to meet Amy and Larry who were wonderful as well! My family and I agree as long as Josh is an employee at this Hampton inn we will be back frequently to stay and visit family more often!

This hotel is a reincarnation of a Holiday Inn with attractive redecoration. The lobby and dining…read morearea are bright and welcoming. Rooms have a lot of outlets and USB ports, but my room had a large desk lamp on the computer table instead of a floor lamp next to the chair. There is only one elevator in the hotel, and it's somewhat slow. If you have mobility issues, you may want to stay on the first floor just in case you are concerned about the elevator (no problems while I was there). The room was quiet, and temperature control was both accurate and also quiet. In the bathroom, there's a plug-in nightlight which you can remove if it's too bright. The shower surround was chipped and cracked in places, and the liquids had not been refilled before my stay, though there was enough there for my one night here. The biggest nuisance was the TV. The mount was a bit loose, and the TV rattled on the wall when I walked by. The cable attachment on the back also emitted a blue light on the top, and when the lights were out, this produced a somewhat large blue-white glow on the wall and ceiling, forcing me to find some way to cover the light. Once I did that the room was dark and quiet, and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast area is large, with a nearby coffee station open 24/7. I think a few smaller tables would be more convenient than the large ones typically not completely full by guests. Breakfast included a waffle station, a crock of oatmeal, a hot tray with potatoes, bacon (somewhat greasy), and the folded over cheese omelets. A pastry stand was nearby with a toaster. The kitchen area was very well maintained. My stay here was generally good, and the hotel is quite convenient to the Mass Pike.

The free breakfast is meh quality but hey, it's nice to have someone else cook for you regardless. There's a pool too that my kiddo enjoyed. The hotel is 2 minutes from Holyoke mall that includes a Target. We got a frozen skillet meal from Target to make for dinner our first night there. I would stay here again and recommend it to others. Edited to add: As of August 2022 the staff was not masking, nor were masks required in any area of the hotel. The guests were mixed on masking. Many with N95 masks and taking breakfast to go to eat in their rooms mixed with guests not masking or distancing.

I had a serious unresolved booking problem there for my intended stay August 9-12, 2024. At check-in I was told, in sequence, "4 rooms left," then "2 rooms left," and finally "no rooms left" for any part of my intended stay. The sequence of having been told 4, then 2, then no rooms left was especially frustrating and seemed to me retaliatory for my mild expression of dismay, consternation, and frustration. My daughters and I arrived late from Logan Airport due to Debby weather, delayed rental car, and rain on the turnpike. We were attending my parents' funeral on the 10th. I understand that all people aren't going to be best friends; however, this night manager showed zero empathy. And worse, with the cockamamie room "countdown," I felt the manager exhibited personal animus. We stayed at an alternative--a nearby Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott--which we booked ourselves. Even so, on August 12, I received from Homewood Suites by Hilton an invoice and a paid receipt for all nights of the stay, August 9, 10, and 11. The only time spent at Homewood Suites by Hilton was in the lobby at 4 a.m. with the vindictive night manager counting down "4 rooms left," then "2 rooms left," and finally "no rooms left."

TV & wifi very good and we both fell asleep fast and slept well! (that never happens). Coffee fine and breakfast had better than average options. Hotel eggs but salsa and tiny bottles of hotsauce were available! For oatmeal there was an excellent topping station with walnuts And almonds, plus strawberry compote and mango sauce, yum! King studio Room 303 was spacious and clean, smelled clean. Only drawback was no fan in bathroom, right next to bedroom. My favorite touch was the mini basketball court! Note: they take a small security deposit at checkin - not $1000 like it said on Booking dot com.

The bed was comfortable and quiet except for one night around 2am when loud music started blaring from room 214 below me. Front desk didn't seem to be able to do much about it. When it snowed the parking lot was cleared off well and seemed to be centrally located to a lot of things. There is a sketchy Walmart across the street if you really need some things but I was warned to stay away from it.

The room itself left a lot to be desired. First, it smelled like sweaty gym socks and of course the hotel was full so no option to switch rooms nor did they make any effort to alleviate the atrocious smell. Secondly, the wall paper was peeling off both in the room and in the bathroom. Third, the bathroom was not clean. The tub was disgusting. There was hair left around the room and we were a little nervous to sleep in the beds. Breakfast was included and standard continental offerings - make your own waffles, some form of scrambled egg, breakfast meats and usually a steamed packaged item, cereals, yogurts, granola and oatmeal with assorted juices and coffee that was so bad I spit it out. I sat in the lobby that morning and listened to how they handled various customer issues. They are very responsive and professional. I would only suggest that housekeeping be more proactive. LOCATION: I stayed one Friday night this fall as a splurge ($229 /night) with intention to become familiar with the inn and its namesake town and surrounding communities. The site is steps away from a river and town center, making the Old Riverton Inn an ideal destination for those looking to explore the charming town or fly fish. AMENITIES: The inn preserves the availability of food and drink through a ground floor tavern. Lunch and dinner are offered at the Royal Coachman Tavern (check its Yelp page), but breakfast, conventionally provided to inn guests, is limited to an unattended counter with baked goods, single serve coffee maker, and dry cereal. While this might be ideal for early rising visiting fly fishers, it is not aligned with a conventional inn experience of hot breakfast. ACCOMMODATIONS: There are ten rooms located on the second and third floor of the inn. Guests may select specific rooms through the inn's website. Decor can be described as "shabby chic", with evidence of time reflected in the scattering of scuffs on vintage furniture, peeling print block wallpaper, and chipped paint on trim. Portable heaters in the closets and AC units in the windows are provided so that guests can modify room temperature. PARKING: To my surprise on site parking is not guaranteed to anticipated inn guests upon arrival. I arrived at 5 PM and found lot full, with six cars already parked along the emergency shoulder of State Route 20. While checking in an employee directed me to park in the emergency shoulder (safe/legal?) and assured me that I would be able to get a parking spot by time tavern closed at 9 PM. I appreciate that the current owner, Sherice Levan-Bennett, solicits guest feedback. I suggested dedicated parking for the anticipated overnight guests to facilitate easy unloading and a safe and relaxing experience. TIPS: Check out is early (10 AM). The third floor is quieter than second floor when the Royal Coachman Tavern is open for business.
