Just take a ticket to get in but once you check in, your key card will get you in and out for free. Check in was quick and easy and the front desk team was very nice. We had a room at the end of the hall on the 9th floor and it was super quiet, even thought they had four weddings going on. When the front desk guy told me that, I thought it was going to be a loud, long evening but our room was quiet all night. We were on a corner so had corner windows which were lovely but the shades were great and kept out the light. Everything was clean and the bathroom looked like it had been recently updated. The bed was a little soft for my taste but overall, the room was great. I've only been to Poughkeepsie once before but I know I walked to several beer bars not too far from this hotel. The convention center is right next door and there's a big theater just down the street, so I'd say this location is pretty convenient. We had a great stay here!

Once after giving all of the credit card information, received a call after 11:00 pm with someone carrying on about paying the bill the same night as opposed to at check-out! So cooperating, here comes some limping gimp of a throwback at my door demanding payment! Within that they pulled the ole what I'll call room packing all booked right next to each other over nothing but pure laziness from the desk, to "house keeping" that doesn't even change anything they "think" doesn't need it on their level sheets and all! On another occasion I was flat out denied a room at the desk with a frowned up, furrowed browed..., desk clerk that clearly was in full on, obvious, discrimination mode! They can't help but make money around here, but never mine again! You're very welcome!

The bed was very comfortable, though I think the pillows could be improved, as mine were quite flat. The room had everything I needed, from a blow dryer to an iron. Although it did get a bit crowded, it was still a decent spread. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would come back again.

The lobby is beautiful, well lit with both natural and artificial light and spacious. We were greeted by a friendly staff member at the front desk. There is ample parking in a large parking lot. We did not have to pay for parking, although I did read a review by a Yelp reviewer that they paid for parking. My wife and I were in the area to visit my parent's grave sites and one of my sisters in nearby Millbrook, N.Y. The hotel has two levels with an elevator. The room we stayed in was spacious with a separate room with two beds, large dresser and a TV with a sliding glass door leading out to a large courtyard. The main living area had a chair, small sofa, desk, a TV and a dresser with a small refrigerator also with a sliding glass door leading out to the courtyard The courtyard was large with tables and lounge chairs to relax outside The room was clean with lots of natural daylight with newer carpeting and did not smell musty like some hotel rooms can. The room and bathroom were both well maintained. In the lobby is a restaurant called The Bistro. There is a bar serving mixed drinks and beer. The restaurant serves both breakfast (a la carte) featuring Starbucks coffee and dinner. Meals are not included with stays. There are numerous tables available to eat at. There is also a nice lounging area in the front lobby with a TV and simulated fireplace. For added convenience, there is a small desk with a computer and printer if needed. The hotel has a very nice exercise room with several treadmills and weight lifting machines. This location is located on busy Route 9 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. with many nearby restaurants and stores as well as the Galleria Mall. The hotel is a very short drive from the world renowned Culinary Institute of America. It is known for teaching some of the world's best chefs. The Institute offers tours and an opportunity to eat at their restaurant. If you're interested in history, you can visit both the FDR and Vanderbilt museums which is about a thirty drive from the hotel. My one peev with the hotel is that there is only one ice making machine on each level. Which means that you would have to walk across the entire hotel if the room is on the opposite end. I easily recommend staying at ths hotel.

The location is fairly convenient for people traveling along the highway (only five minutes away from some major roads and the closest bridge across the Hudson River). But despite its proximity to a busy road, I've never had issue with noise. I would rate this a solid five stars for a hotel at this price. Days Inn by Wyndham Poughkeepsie

Days Inn by Wyndham Poughkeepsie is now Quality Inn/ Rodeway Way Inn…read more For my past experiences with Quality Inn, they have always been positive. I have always enjoyed their complimentary breakfast and clean rooms. But after staying here, I have learned not all Quality Inns are the same. This location was horrible and would not recommend anyone to stay here. I stayed here with my husband for one night, from Friday evening to Saturday. When we checked in on Friday evening, this employee did not greet us when we came in. She just stared at me until I told her we were here to check in. Instead of asking me for my ID, she said "ID". She did not tell us what time breakfast hours would be the next day and there are no signs posted in the lobby or in our room (but figured breakfast would at least be available between 8-9 am so I make sure to wake up in time and head over to get some the next morning). After she issued me my 2 card keys, she just said to go around back to the room. I had to ask her to clarify and then I headed to my car and drove over to our room. I don't know what her problem was but I think I could have used a little less of the attitude. It is clear that this employee doesn't really care about her job (nor did the different employee I interacted with the next morning at the front desk). We got a king size bed. The room itself was clean from first glance and the room was spacious enough. But later on, I found some yellow stains on the comforter we used... The bathroom was really cramp. The toilet seat had stains on it that did not come out with alcohol wipes. I hung my towel on the hanger in the outside closet so that it would be easier for me to dry my hands than to close the door to use the towel on the door hook. The next morning, I was incredibly disappointed with the breakfast. The breakfast had small cups of Activia yogurt (maybe 2 oz, not the larger 4 oz size), cold cereal you dispense yourself, milk and assorted bread/ pastry (small selection). The waffle machine was broken. The coffee machine was also not working. Another guest had asked about the waffle machine and the employee at the front desk said that other guests turn it off and on, which is why it doesn't work. When the same guest had asked about the coffee, the employee had said it wasn't plugged in, which is why it wasn't working. But she did not bother to plug it in to have it work... It was annoying to hear excuses from this employee while I tried to figure out what I wanted to get for breakfast (honestly, I ended up just getting 2 of the yogurts and went back to my room and then ended up going somewhere else for breakfast after I checked out). This employee had the same attitude as the other employee the night before, in which she was very apathetic and didn't care. She didn't apologize or offer a solution. The only thing possibly going for this hotel is the price. I was surprised to see how expensive hotels are in Hyde Park and Poughkeepsie. This was one of the more affordable locations, but was still pricey for what we got. If you can stay somewhere else or keep on driving to the next city to save some money, don't stay here.

Call in advance to check availability and make a reservation: it's a small place! The communal kitchen is big, and you can use the coffee, tea and oatmeal (anything else you have to bring yourself). The kitchen has an 11pm curfew, so they're trying to keep it quiet here (this is not a party hostel; alcohol, smoking and drugs are banned!). The wifi is good. Enter with a key from the back door and use a code to enter the room. Sone notes about room 3; which is where I take off one star. Theoretically the room sleeps four as long as two are willing to share a full size bed, and as long as one can vault up to a bunk bed (the ladder is broken). So at the moment it's really a three person room. You'd better be very comfortable using a bathroom around those folks, because the room entry is through the bathroom, so anyone going from hallway to room and vice versa passes through the bathroom. Okay. It's the only room set up that way. The shower is great, there's lots of light and fans, but the main reason im taking off a star is because the room clearly wasn't cleaned before check in. The sink had brown stuff on it, which was easy enough to clean, but not what I would expect to see. There were also literal sprigs of weeds and wildflowers on the floor, which I picked up and put it the trash, but when you see mess that's that obvious, it makes you wonder what kinds of less obvious uncleanliness might be there... and good thing they provide ear plugs, because the room next door had a piano (ie someone practicing piano, not just playing music on a speaker), a dog and a toddler!

My understanding was that, after regular business hours, check in was at the Beekman Arms, which is 1/4 mile away. I arrived at 2:15 on Friday, only to discover that I had to go back the way I came. I am hot, tired, my car is hot, and I have meds that need not to be hot getting hot. The area is very dense. There are a lot of tourists, people pulling out suddenly, and when you're not familiar with the area even a little extra driving is vexing. The staff assume you know about the secondary location issue. They are incorrect in the assumption that each and every service where reservations are made has the correct information. Probably most of them do. But a little acknowledgement that this policy is inconvenient might be nice. I didn't see any mention of a check out time on the website. Standard check out time is 11AM. Check out here is 9AM. You should factor this into your decision making process. Had I known this, I would have chosen a different hotel because I will have no place to go for that time, and for what I'm paying, I feel like they could let me sleep in. On the bright side, it's clean, quiet, and cool. The location is within walking distance (on a nice day, with no luggage) of several cafes. And Rhinebeck is a beautiful place.

The pool was cold and my kids didn't stay in there long - would be great to have a pool that was warmer. The hot tub was quite warm and 15 minutes at a time was sufficient for me. I was a bit disappointed with the dishes/utensils that they had. The rooms did not have can openers - during my last several stays at these types of accommodations, there was always a can opener in the kitchen area, in addition to a few more items than they had here. We were eventually able to use one but there were staff who said they had never seen a can opener there. Also, for example, the nonstick coating on the 2 pots provided was highly scratched and the cooking utensils were all the ones with the black coating that is now out of favor. The rooms are not "deep cleaned" as far as the baseboards being dusty and there being residual hairs from previous guests in the bathroom crevices. That being said, it was generally clean looking and although the sofa bed has been through some wear and tear, it worked fine. I will say that the painting and repainting team did a great job as the walls that I saw were spotless and without discoloration. The rugs in the hallways could also stand to be updated. I would say that the conditions did not detract from the stay at the price we paid. It was a great value. I imagine that making the updates I mentioned might drive up the price. Anyways, I'd stay again but I might pack a few more things if I was intending to cook. Yes, there is a Walmart right across the parking lot, but I also don't want to buy a bunch of things I already have at home. My family members who have stayed here, recommended it and generally speaking, I was not disappointed (pool and hot tub almost all to ourselves, they provided free breakfast with hot food, generally clean, working kitchen, convenient location).
