Just take a ticket to get in but once you check in, your key card will get you in and out for free. Check in was quick and easy and the front desk team was very nice. We had a room at the end of the hall on the 9th floor and it was super quiet, even thought they had four weddings going on. When the front desk guy told me that, I thought it was going to be a loud, long evening but our room was quiet all night. We were on a corner so had corner windows which were lovely but the shades were great and kept out the light. Everything was clean and the bathroom looked like it had been recently updated. The bed was a little soft for my taste but overall, the room was great. I've only been to Poughkeepsie once before but I know I walked to several beer bars not too far from this hotel. The convention center is right next door and there's a big theater just down the street, so I'd say this location is pretty convenient. We had a great stay here!

Within that they pulled the ole what I'll call room packing all booked right next to each other over nothing but pure laziness from the desk, to "house keeping" that doesn't even change anything they "think" doesn't need it on their level sheets and all! On another occasion I was flat out denied a room at the desk with a frowned up, furrowed browed..., desk clerk that clearly was in full on, obvious, discrimination mode! They can't help but make money around here, but never mine again! You're very welcome!

The bed was very comfortable, though I think the pillows could be improved, as mine were quite flat. The room had everything I needed, from a blow dryer to an iron. Although it did get a bit crowded, it was still a decent spread. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would come back again.

The lobby is beautiful, well lit with both natural and artificial light and spacious. We were greeted by a friendly staff member at the front desk. There is ample parking in a large parking lot. We did not have to pay for parking, although I did read a review by a Yelp reviewer that they paid for parking. My wife and I were in the area to visit my parent's grave sites and one of my sisters in nearby Millbrook, N.Y. The hotel has two levels with an elevator. The room we stayed in was spacious with a separate room with two beds, large dresser and a TV with a sliding glass door leading out to a large courtyard. The main living area had a chair, small sofa, desk, a TV and a dresser with a small refrigerator also with a sliding glass door leading out to the courtyard The courtyard was large with tables and lounge chairs to relax outside The room was clean with lots of natural daylight with newer carpeting and did not smell musty like some hotel rooms can. The room and bathroom were both well maintained. In the lobby is a restaurant called The Bistro. There is a bar serving mixed drinks and beer. The restaurant serves both breakfast (a la carte) featuring Starbucks coffee and dinner. Meals are not included with stays. There are numerous tables available to eat at. There is also a nice lounging area in the front lobby with a TV and simulated fireplace. For added convenience, there is a small desk with a computer and printer if needed. The hotel has a very nice exercise room with several treadmills and weight lifting machines. This location is located on busy Route 9 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. with many nearby restaurants and stores as well as the Galleria Mall. The hotel is a very short drive from the world renowned Culinary Institute of America. It is known for teaching some of the world's best chefs. The Institute offers tours and an opportunity to eat at their restaurant. If you're interested in history, you can visit both the FDR and Vanderbilt museums which is about a thirty drive from the hotel. My one peev with the hotel is that there is only one ice making machine on each level. Which means that you would have to walk across the entire hotel if the room is on the opposite end. I easily recommend staying at ths hotel.

The location is fairly convenient for people traveling along the highway (only five minutes away from some major roads and the closest bridge across the Hudson River). But despite its proximity to a busy road, I've never had issue with noise. I would rate this a solid five stars for a hotel at this price. Days Inn by Wyndham Poughkeepsie is now Quality Inn/ Rodeway Way Inn…read more For my past experiences with Quality Inn, they have always been positive. I have always enjoyed their complimentary breakfast and clean rooms. But after staying here, I have learned not all Quality Inns are the same. This location was horrible and would not recommend anyone to stay here. I stayed here with my husband for one night, from Friday evening to Saturday. When we checked in on Friday evening, this employee did not greet us when we came in. She just stared at me until I told her we were here to check in. Instead of asking me for my ID, she said "ID". She did not tell us what time breakfast hours would be the next day and there are no signs posted in the lobby or in our room (but figured breakfast would at least be available between 8-9 am so I make sure to wake up in time and head over to get some the next morning). After she issued me my 2 card keys, she just said to go around back to the room. I had to ask her to clarify and then I headed to my car and drove over to our room. I don't know what her problem was but I think I could have used a little less of the attitude. It is clear that this employee doesn't really care about her job (nor did the different employee I interacted with the next morning at the front desk). We got a king size bed. The room itself was clean from first glance and the room was spacious enough. But later on, I found some yellow stains on the comforter we used... The bathroom was really cramp. The toilet seat had stains on it that did not come out with alcohol wipes. I hung my towel on the hanger in the outside closet so that it would be easier for me to dry my hands than to close the door to use the towel on the door hook. The next morning, I was incredibly disappointed with the breakfast. The breakfast had small cups of Activia yogurt (maybe 2 oz, not the larger 4 oz size), cold cereal you dispense yourself, milk and assorted bread/ pastry (small selection). The waffle machine was broken. The coffee machine was also not working. Another guest had asked about the waffle machine and the employee at the front desk said that other guests turn it off and on, which is why it doesn't work. When the same guest had asked about the coffee, the employee had said it wasn't plugged in, which is why it wasn't working. But she did not bother to plug it in to have it work... It was annoying to hear excuses from this employee while I tried to figure out what I wanted to get for breakfast (honestly, I ended up just getting 2 of the yogurts and went back to my room and then ended up going somewhere else for breakfast after I checked out). This employee had the same attitude as the other employee the night before, in which she was very apathetic and didn't care. She didn't apologize or offer a solution. The only thing possibly going for this hotel is the price. I was surprised to see how expensive hotels are in Hyde Park and Poughkeepsie. This was one of the more affordable locations, but was still pricey for what we got. If you can stay somewhere else or keep on driving to the next city to save some money, don't stay here.

The furnishings are very unique. I can see the owners antiquing in the area and finding these treasured pieces. As far as shared items, there is a Keurig coffee machine. It'll do in a pinch. At 7am I wanted coffee and the machine water was empty. I had to knock on the kitchen door and wait until someone answered to refill the machine. Breakfast was amazing! For me at least, when I'm on vacation I'll have French Toast and pancakes during my stay. My wife? She broke down the menu: a pitcher of orange juice, cake with sorbet, fruit plate with a boxed cookie on the side along with pancakes. My wife reminded me this is not an adult breakfast, it's all sugar! She asked for egg whites and Neil was flustered. They figured it out and served my wife. Neil grabbed me at the common area and said he explained breakfast during check in. I didn't know that we had to speak up right then, usually there's a sheet? The next day Darlene made some amazing pumpkin pancakes. My wife took 1/2 of one and we were only served two. So breakfast for me was good but I was aggravated both mornings. I was looking forward to kicking back and enjoying a bottle of wine, maybe smoke a cigar? Neil said there is no smoking on the premise. Ok, that's out. I asked for an ice bucket and was told he'll dig one up. It never came. It really didn't matter because the outside furniture on the deck, it wasn't inviting. The pillows looked wet and old. More unique styled furniture. Lighting up the room was inadequate. There were small lamps but it wasn't enough. Neil said the thermostat for the entire house was right here. If we made the temperature warmer or colder, the entire house temperature will change. The same with the WiFi, the router was in our room?! That's a lot of pressure.. I didn't touch anything. There was also a dining area where we met some amazing people. Unfortunately, we could not enjoy the full breakfast. We were only able to partake in some coffee and pastries and headed for the day.
