I ended up calling these guys tonight after my new tenants noticed a gas leak their first day in my rental. We had a new floor installed and apparently the guy who hooked the stove back up should not be touching gas lines. He replaced a fitting and used Teflon gas tape on a flanged line and should not have. The technician (Paul Slaughter) used a gas sniffer and soapy water to show me exactly where the leak was coming from and that the connection was loose on top of it. He did the work quickly, explained what was going on, and gave a fair price considering it was a weekend and after hours. Phenomenal technician they have working for them, we will definitely use this company in the future thanks to Paul. read more

On a Wednesday in July we had an AC unit fail in a condo housing a young family, and were able to schedule a Saturday appointment with Quality First. After keeping our tenants waiting for two hours, Quality First finally called and stated that they had an "emergency" and were unable to keep the appointment. I was able to follow up with Quality first on the following Monday, and the individual I spoke to said they simply ran late on their previous jobs. Apparently that was the emergency. So, in a nutshell: Quality first scheduled an AC repair job three days out in the middle of summer, then failed to keep the appointment, stating that there was an "emergency," when they simply ran late on their other jobs. It was still early afternoon at the time of cancellation... it was not made clear why the technicians couldn't simply arrive at the residence late, rather than leave a family with young children without AC in the dead of summer. read more

Wow, I'm astonished at what happened today. Let me start by saying that the actual work they did seems fine. They were here for under two hours and the problem is fixed. My issue is with their manner of doing business. My water heater broke, and I replaced it myself last night, only to find that the two lines coming into it were not reusable, so I needed a plumber to finish that small part (replacing two 18" pieces of flexible pipe). Since we have two water heaters, I also asked about the cost of installing four in-line valves, so I could shut off one heater if this ever happened again. Here's what happened: Initial quote: $268 PER VALVE ($1,072 total), and for the two hoses, the charge to install a new water heater was $790, but since I'd done "some" work (really everything but the last half hour), he'd take $100 off, so $690. I told him no thanks, I'd pay the $45 trip charge, and I'd find someone else. Revised quote: He asked me if there was a price I had in mind, and after about fifteen seconds of discussion, the $1,072 dropped to $360, and the $690 dropped to $265. So the price dropped 65% almost instantly. We live in Castle Pines Village, so perhaps he was just thinking I wouldn't mind whatever price. But I found that approach to be exceptionally unappealing. And they had been here before, and had a left a "free trip charge" coupon and sticker on the water heaters. As we were wrapping up and (I think) he noticed the coupon in my hand, he said he needed to waive the trip charge because he saw the sticker on the heater. I'm suspecting that he wouldn't have done so had he not seen the identical coupon in my hand. The guy was nice enough, and he fixed the problem, but I found the company's pricing strategy to be distasteful. We won't be using them again. If you use them, start by rejecting their suggested price and countering with a number that's about 25% of their price, and go from there. You'll save yourself a ton of money. read more

Make sure you get a quote BEFORE they come out. $199 plus a $45 trip charge just to show up! I am a salon owner and have a lot of plumbing work done as preventative maintenance. Yesterday, there was a water main break in my parking lot and my drain was backing up. The management company wasn't sure what the issue was or who would pay. We used Quality First because they had a contract with the leasing company. Well, I didn't get the "deal" that the leasing company gets. I was charged $624 to clear 3 drains, which took the technician 2.5 hours. He left black nastiness all over my white bathroom. He was trying to use paper towels and scrubbing bubbles to clean it up. It took me 45 minutes and a bottle of spray bleach. I have NEVER paid another company( and I have used several) more than $380 and that was a Saturday emergency call. Normally clearing these same 3 drains takes approximately 45 minutes. This is highway robbery and bad, bad service. When I called to make a complaint the woman on the phone was rude and said she would have a supervisor call me, which 24 hours later hasn't happened. Do not use this company! I have used Quality Plumbing 3 times for two different properties and have found each plumber and service tech knowledgeable, competent, fast, and friendly. The work was quite satisfactory. Additionally, the office staff and schedulers are friendly, courteous, and and handle your calls successfully. On one occasion before he left, we did not fully test the replaced faucet and discovered the next morning that the water was not being full diverted from the tap to the shower head. I called the office and they had the same plumber back to my property by 11:30. There was no charge because he also felt he should have realized this before he left the previous day. I called to get help on our whirlpool water heater that recently went out. When I called to schedule the appointment, I gave the lady all our information including how old our water heater was, the make and model and she said they would able to help us. Unfortunately, when they arrived they said they were unable to work on whirlpool water heaters and said they could only replace not repair the unit, and they still charged me the service fee. We had a small flood due to a old dishwasher that we had to replace and Jacob came out promptly and helped us securely install the new dishwasher. He replaced an old copper water pipe that was poorly put on the old dishwasher and put in a new valve! He was very fast and efficient in his work and very professional. Plumber was called to replace a Moen Faucet cartridge which is a $47 part. Quote was $440 but the plumber said I could get a discount so it would be $380. This is not a job that takes more than 20 minutes so rounding up to nearest hour, they wanted $330 per hour. Plumber replaced cartridge but faucet was still leaking. I was then told that my water pressure regulator was bad and that would be an additional $780. The part is $65 at Loews and the job does not take an hour. I said no to having the Quality First plumber replacing the water pressure regulator for $715 per hour and did it myself. Even with the trip to Loews it took me less than an hour. But wait, it gets better. The Quality First plumber installed a bad cartridge which I had to go back to Loews and get a new one which only took about 20 minute for myself to replace. Net-net it cost me $490 for me to do it myself. I called the office to complain and they basically said they weren't willing to do anything not even reimburse me for the faulty cartridge. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Pricing is ridiculously high and not professional at all. read more

I spoke with the owner Howard, he just defended his $4500 bill and offered no help or solution.They dug up the concrete to "Fix the problem" after a previous company had said the issue was between the wall. Hot water heater expansion valve was leaking. Plumber arrived outside the 2 hour window so trip charge reduced from $45 to $20. He determined the house pressure was too high & pressure reducer had to be replaced for $475. We inquired if the pressure reducer could be adjusted. He insisted it had to be replaced & refused to attempt to adjust the pressure reducer. We said no on replacing the pressure reducer. The expansion valve had to be replaced for $349. We agreed. The plumber did not have the right parts to fix or replace the expansion valve so he left & returned the next day (and was on time). During the interval we reduced the house pressure using a $10 gauge from Home Depot & pliers. It was as simple as turning a lock nut and then the adjustment nut to the left several turns. It easily went from 90 to 50. The plumber did fix the leaking expansion valve by replacing it with an expansion tank for a total of $319 + $20 trip charge. Problem solved. Well, almost. Plumber failed to equalize the expansion tank with the house pressure as recommended by the manufacturer. He left the tank pressure at 40 psi. We were able to increase the expansion tank pressure to 50 to match the house pressure. Also, expansion tank was installed at 45 degree angle so it may require additional support . We received no instructions or warranty on the new expansion tank. We did express some of our concerns to Quality First during a courtesy follow up call initiated by Quality First. Wayne was supposed to check back with us, but he did not. read more

Not happy. Although their plumber and his supervisor were polite and professional enough, they clearly (in retrospect) misdiagnosed my problem, charging me for work that didn't fix the problem. A simple replacement showerhead for $30 would have resolved my issue. The supervisor charged me $35.00 to come out to my house to check the work that didn't need to be done in the first place. I am incredibly disappointed in this company for their poor service and how rudely I was treated. I called them because we were having trouble with our water heater. They sent a technician out and he replaced the heating elements in the heater. several hours later still no hot water. So we called back. THe tech came back and said somehow the breaker had been flipped, so he put that back. The next day, still no hot water. So we called again. This time they said it was the thermostat in the heater so we would need a new one. They gave us a quote and said they'd be back later. They came back and installed it. The quote they gave us was 150 less than what they charged us and they tacked on 100 bucks for parts (which they did not mention when they gave us the quote). The next morning, still no hot water. They came back, looked at the heater and had no idea what was going on, so they called a someone from the water heater company to come look, he discovered that the heater they installed was pulling too many amps for the breaker it was on. So, I had to call an electrician to come out and install a bigger breaker, which was not cheap. That electrician told me that there is no way the water heater that they took out was the same size as the one they put in because it never would have been up to code. After all of this was done and I had paid more than I ever needed to, I called them. The first thing they did was snap at me and say it wasn't their problem because it was an electrical issue. The owner and his wife were very rude to me and tried to turn it around and blame me. When I insisted on some compensation they then berated me for calling them early in the morning to check when a technician was coming out (which is completely irrelevant, I am a customer, I can call as many times as I want whenever I want). In the end, the owner agreed to refund me $239, which is a laughable amount given the cost of all of it and the amount of stress their incompetence caused me. When they put the refund through, however, it was only for $200. This company is dishonest and doesn't understand how to treat people. It also seems to me that they do not have competent technicians, as it took their techs four trips and it was someone from another company who ended up figuring out what was going on. In the end, we don't even know if we needed a new heater. I suggest taking your business elsewhere. read more

Well, I learned my lesson. DO NOT USE the TeamDaveLogan website to find your contractors based on price. Dave Logan only checks for licenses, BBB rating, insurance, etc but not price. So, if I have to do the most important part of the job myself, get best pricing, might as well do the rest cause as I found out, the Dave Logan site clearly does not list all of the best contractors; just the one that pay to be on his website. Yes, they did a good job; showed up on time; they were respectful - basically; they did their job!! But what a whopping bill I got! The average price to replace a 50Gallon tank is from $900 - $1200 - I was charged over $1700!!! Stay away from this company and if you use the Dave Logan site, try to get quotes on the phone. read more

PROS: *First guy was nice and friendly, tried to be cautious about keeping the floor clean but wasn't exactly successful *Second guy worked hard to try to get the job done, not careful about the floors. *Company reversed decision to charge for second visit to remedy the situation. After I argued with them about not getting the job done right the first time and after I said I was going to write a review *Company tried to remedy situation by sending out someone with camera free (normally a $90 charge) CONS: *They DONT care about your floors *Try to charge you when they come back to fix something that wasn't fixed the first time, even though they have a 30 DAY GUARANTEE *Person with camera also had no regard for the floors, even after I specifically requested it. *Person with camera tried to say we needed to dig up pipes in a totally different location than they actually are. They were going to get their money one way or another! *Wasted a lot of my time. *Left feminine products all over the floor and on other things in the nearby area, which I found later when I went to do laundry, imagine if my sons had found them? Kris came out on a Sat night due to a drain backup in the basement. Very nice and friendly. The guy was here maybe 45 mins and bragged about knowing what he was doing and that the job was done. Apparently there were feminine products in the pipe. I knew it wasn't me, even though the pipes are for my unit, because I don't flush those things. It had to be a guest I had in my home. I learned this lesson the hard way when I was much younger and had to have a relatives main pipe dug up in their yard and all the feminine products removed. Talk about embarrassing!!! It was an expensive lesson for my relative, and I then became aware that it was not ok to flush them, I honestly had no idea it wasn't ok to flush before that, esp when it said you can right on the package. Who would have known or even thinks about that you have to tell guests not to flush their feminine products? Maybe now you know and can inform your guests, as I will be doing in the future. Well, a few hours later, we decided to do some laundry and my son took a shower. Guess what, basement flooded again! OH, and did I forget to mention, they are NOT cautious about not destroying your carpet with their feet, or equipment, which has who knows how many other peoples plumbing backup issues attached. My carpeted stairs were really dirty after they left. I will attach photos. They sent someone back the next day (SUPPOSED 30 day guarantee), and this guy was not too friendly, but got to work. He worked for a long time and finally came up and said he would need another hour and needed permission. He said the other guy had only gone 50 ft and he was at 70 ft and kept getting stuck. I was later informed by another plumber (LAKEWOOD PLUMBING, LOVED THEM!), that our lines for our unit are only 40 ft. This guy said he had cleared it and we ran lots of water to see if it was draining. It appeared to be draining. It wasnt cleared though because the other plumbers came with a camera and said the pipes were full of water, which means there was still a blockage. It was eventually determined a city problem and taken care of by them. Now the cleanup crew is here. I will DEFINITELY be leaving a review for them too (the cleanup crew), not happy with them either. Was told on the phone that the charge to go to my house and look at the problem would be $39. After they looked at the problem...I did not like the price and refused to proceed with the repairs...so they tacked on an additional $75 inspection fee...which was never mentioned to me on the phone. They tried to arm twist me to accept their repair estimate. They then charged my card for the additional $75, but I am fighting this through my bank. They will lose because I was never told or agreed to any charges beyond $39. read more
