Needed repair on my Navien tankless combi boiler water heater (a bit of a specialty task / need). I consulted Navien's website first for service providers (they were listed there), consulted BBB(Better Business Bureau) and did a quote request. Based on my (detailed) request, I appreciated they were did schedule a consult quickly. The tech that came out (Dale), while a bit rough, almost immediately diagnosed my issue (correctly, I might add - this is after consulting with other companies (and the manufacturer) and getting a repair). The main issue was I didn't get a quote back for a week (was promised within a couple days). By that time I already had wheels in motion to have someone else to fix the issue. And, this is me being picky, is I wish he might have recommended additional maintenance to the unit - since he seemed very knowledgeable. Quick response to consult, delay in quote, which led to me to go with someone else - however, I will keep this company in mind for other needs in the future due to the knowledge of the tech. read more

Our stove was leaking gas due to an improperly installed line. The fire department shut off the gas. We called A Perfect Plumber with whom we have done business for many years. Mind you this was a couple of days before Thanksgiving. They managed to fit us in the following morning although they were very busy. Mitch came and installed the new gas line. He was extremely helpful, did a great job and left us some photos of the improper materials used by the original installers (Lowe's contractor delivery and set up - beware!). I needed help with a very small, but important problem with my kitchen sink drain. I called Perfect Plumber based on their good online reviews. I spoke to Susan on the phone. She said she didn't have anyone available to come out to my house until the following week, but that she would put me on the schedule and call if an earlier time came available. I planned to call around to find someone else, but Susan was so professional and had offered helpful options and alternatives, so I decided to wait. Within just a couple of days, Susan called with an immediate availability. A plumber--Bobby--was at my house in minutes. Working with the A Perfect Plumber team is awesome and perfect in every way! The entire team, from the owner, to the office staff, planning staff, and installers are all professional, prompt, and thorough. I highly recommend this team for any HVAC, plumbing, etc needs. I came across this company once we decided on the specific brand for a tankless hot water heater. We wanted a company certified by the manufacturer because then it is usually less headache when an issue arises. The manufacturers tend to throw up walls when they learn someone else did the install, and this is an area in which I was not willing to deal with BS from the manufacturer. Our first encounter started with Erin for scheduling. She is awesome, professional, and takes great notes. Because of the timing of our request (just before Christmas), the team was already booked out for a few weeks, but when an opening developed, she called right away to see if we wanted it. Our next encounter occurred with the division chief (?), I think that is his official position, but you wouldn't know it. Dale called ahead to reconfirm the appointment, and the day of I received a text from the company with details about the technician assigned, to include a photo, and a tracker on a map to give a better idea on time arrival. Dale is an extremely thorough individual. He offered a variety of installation locations, pros and cons of each option, and what he recommended as well as why. He took a lot of photos of the water and gas lines to help with planning. He also informed me about tidbits that I may not already know, such as how the recirculation pump works, specifics about the warranty, etc. We chatted about a whole house water filtration and conditioner system, where it should go in the basement, unknown impacts to the garden and lawn if I watered with the filtered and conditioned water (plants need some of the minerals in the water that the system removes), and how it impacts the tankless water heater. We also discussed a recirculation pump because the one bundled with the tankless does not operate in a way to support my family (not an average user). Dale spent time outside of work reviewing some of the recirculation pumps we considered and gave advise as to what to examine and be aware of when selecting one. The owner was our next touch point. Chris is extremely prompt in answering questions, flexing with the project requirements, and very professional and thorough. I found the quote he offered very reasonable and competitive. His company was willing to install our water filtration/conditioner system even though it is not a product he carries, and install our recirculation pumps. He is also meticulous and pays attention to detail, double checking the requirements and confirming with us the accuracy. The installation of all of our items went extremely smooth, and faster than we expected. We chose to install our water filtration system in the center of the basement next to the tankless hot water heater (which we positioned in the space of the old one) which necessitated installing a lot more piping to bring the water from the water main across the basement to the filtration system to get filtered and then back across the basement to rejoin the original cold water pipe. Dale served as the overall install supervisor. Gerald, their new company estimator, was on site to observe and experience how the company performs the job, and Casey oversaw the plumbing aspects. The entire crew were fun, explained a lot of things about why things were done a certain way and how, and very meticulous in their work. The actual plumber who came to my house was good. He was nice and explained things to me. But once that is over and you are dealing with the "office people" get ready for some serious passive aggressiveness and unprofessionalism. I was told that I would be emailed my bill after service and so I waited. I received an email and it said "past due" on it. After two minutes of receiving email I wrote them back saying "hey this is my first email and I don't want you to think I am dodging you and I would like to pay but there isnt a link for me to do that sow what can I do". The professional response by them should have been "thanks for reaching out to us and here is the best way to pay"...but no... expect a crappy passive aggressive email from Jyme saying you got one and opened it (which is funny cause that day I had serious stomach bug and didnt do anything except hug sleep by my toilet). That response was unnecessary and unprofessional, especially since within two minutes of the one email I was apologizing for not having seen one yet and asking how to pay ASAP, and I will discourage people from using this company. read more

I'd noticed that my heating system was particularly loud and so I figured I'd better have my boiler checked to make sure everything was working properly. After one appraisal where a guy came out told me I'd need about $4000 worth of work done, tried to scare me about my safety, and then had the gall to charge me a 'trip fee' I was feeling pretty frustrated. A perfect Plumber was recommended to me and when Chris came out he was honest, kind and took the time to walk me through the entire system. Talking to me like a thinking person he answered all my questions and came back with what seemed a fair bid. We have used this company in the past and have been very happy with them as far as how knowledgeable, competitive, and fair they were. Unfortunately, today we woke up with frozen pipes. I called them immediately. They arrived a few hours a head of schedule and got right to work locating the issue. Since there is currently no leak, I chose to monitor the situation and not have him cut holes in the drywall searching out a potential leak. I called A Perfect Plumber based on Linda M's review, and she was absolutely right. Great service, friendly, and fair. Things that I liked: 1) Prices were stated up front, and they stuck to them. 2) They misdiagnosed the problem at first (and no fault to them, it was a very, very weird problem) and stood by their work - didn't charge me for the work done on the wrong fix. 3) Fixed the real problem efficiently and professionally and at a very fair price. 4) Left the area they worked in better than they found it. I've had two other companies work on this boiler before, and these guys were head and shoulders above the others. I highly recommend these guys. When you have an issue, that is when you find out how good a company is at service. We came back from vacation to find a mysterious water leak. They had a plumber available. Aaron came out and spent time walking around looking for the leak. He didn't seem comfortable cutting into the walls to locate the leak. He said we needed to call a leak detection company to find the leak and then he could come back the next day to repair (Fri.). He said he had a 9:00 appt and then would be open all day to come back. The leak detection co . couldn't come out until Mon. and we had the water main shut off. So we called A Perfect Plumber back on Fri. to say just send him out, he needs to cut walls because we couldn't go all weekend without water. Erin, who answered the phone said Aaron was "booked all day" and she was rude. They left us hanging and I had to start all over again. They seemed to be over their heads with our job.
