A few companies responded. One company was booked until September while another company declined. A third company was able to show up the same day to measure and provide an estimate. MacVane Electrical was the fourth company to reply but was the quickest to provide an estimate after I texted pictures of the circuit boxes as well as an approximate distance. I was hesitant due to lack of online reviews. Phil (Sr.) quickly responded in the same evening with an estimate as well as a commitment to show up the next day to do the work. Phil (Jr) arrived the next day (Tuesday) as promised along with Ray, and both got the work done in about 2 hours. Both are super nice guys. Turns out Phil and his father started the company just 6 months ago, hence there are few to no reviews online. They are friendly, clean, and thoroughly explained the work that needed to be done. Phil Jr was so thorough that after he finished and left, he called the sauna company to verify the type of plug the sauna required. He works quickly but with care, and he obviously has had years of experience working in the homes of many clients. Pete is good at recommending ways to reduce the costs of potentially expensive repairs, and some of his ideas will save money for a client over time. I accompanied Pete during his inspection. He explained each of his findings in clear language, and also explained his recommendations for needed work. He then suggested a schedule for completing the work, and provided an itemized budget for consideration. Pete is an easy person to talk with, and he is good at discussing options for projects. I appreciate that he listens to the concerns and the ideas of his client. Pete is also quite good at identifying potential electrical dangers within a client's home. For example, he identified in my home several GFCI outlets that were not functioning correctly, and he included in his work proposal the replacement of these outlets. He also determined that the electrical system in the barn was not properly grounded, and he installed the necessary ground to assure safety. Either of these problems could have had serious negative results. Pete presented new, important information that was of critical importance. For example, he explained that if a fire occurs in a home, then some insurance companies will check to see if the breakers in the breaker box are from the same manufacturer as the breaker box itself, and that the findings may impact the payment of insurance claims. In the case of my home, about half of the circuit breakers were from manufacturers other than the company that manufactured the breaker box. Also, Pete is a good problem solver and is talented in finding good and lasting ways to remedy challenging problems. I had a separate breaker box for use with a generator during power outages, but only a few of the circuits in my home could be used. He installed a safe system that will allow my family to select the circuits that we wish to use while using a generator. I recommend Pete without reservations. He is a great guy and a talented electrician!

But our rogue thermostat proved to be a challenge. Angelo refused to give up and he also got innovative to avoid having to cut holes into the wall and ceilings even tho that would probably have been much easier for him but much more costly for me.
