My goal was to repair the laundry fan, tie back the loose wires and make sure they were safe for our baby, and to get the EV station working so I could use it. My wife asked for recommendations from our old neighbors and several recommended Burbank Electric. Wayne came to our house within a day or two and looked at the panel, but also walked around with me and talked about other things I wanted to do. I was clear that some things might be some time before we could do or some things were just early ideas at this point, but Wayne listened, took notes, explained a couple of ways. But it never felt rushed or like he was eager to make a sale or talk me into anything, it was just a conversation with a really pleasant guy who knew a thing or two about electrical systems. (He also said he knew a few people he'd recommend for some of the smaller work, people who could handle the smaller jobs at a lower rate and might be able to fit us into the schedule quicker.) A few days later, we had two quotes - one for the immediate work to replace the panel and a second for the "larger" future project. We confirmed we wanted to move forward on the immediate project. He estimated it would be about a days' worth of work and he had an opening in his schedule about a week later. We cleared space and prepared for a day without power, but he did the work in such a way that most of our house still had power almost the entire time. As predicted, it took most of the day to install and then at the end, he worked to help me figure out where all the circuits went. We will totally be calling Wayne and Burbank Electric for our future electrical work.

Like many Burbankers living in a 70-year-old fixer, turning on the iron and the toaster oven at the same time was an iffy proposition. It was electric panel replacement time, as my old fuse box was straight out of The Shining. Having no power one day, I found Burbank Electric on nextdoor.com, where Wayne + crew were recommended 10x more than anybody else. That same day, Wayne appeared with a fix to get the power back on while we plotted a new panel replacement. It's not cheap, but you are only going to do it once. Wayne pulled all the permits, handled the inspections, and did a seamless job. Now I can turn everything on at once. Many of the the "Yelp-sponsored" electricians (there are 18) are not even in Burbank, and dispatch from some other location. Go with a local superstar who has probably already done work on your street. Wayne's been back to my place for minor stuff, exactly as scheduled. He's also the nicest guy in Burbank. Electrical problems? Dry your tears and call this guy!

I called Marat, told him I wanted a 200 electrical panel, and he was able to quote me with an excellent price by seeing a picture via text of the existing electrical panel. Given that it was my first time buying a home and not knowing anything about permits and the procedure, Marat walked me through it. He advised that I needed to call LADWP to schedule an appointment with a tech who would mark the spot of the new meter. He then said once there is a meter spot, Marat will get to work --and he did immediately after I got the meter spot. In fact, Marat was there the next day! He worked on the panel for a couple of days, along with his son, and once he installed it, he took care of scheduling the appointment with LADBS. Since I saw how excellent Marat was as an electrician, I also had him install recess lighting in the living room, hallway, family room, and kitchen (amazing job) .
