The owner has an absolute shameful attitude with females. He does excellent work, but is limited by his short view of women.

These guys can weld anything! I had a very unusual request to weld a small spot, difficult to get to on the passenger side of my upper control arm in my 68 Cadillac (IYKYK). And the metals on this particular part are not exactly the easiest to weld together...but they did it! And two of the nicest, most honest guys I've ever met in all my years of being in the classic car hobby! Highly recommended! read more

A1 welders Norbert and Cecilia properly repaired an iron gate 3 prior welders/contractors could not! The welder Norbert was on time to my Moms home where a very heavy gate had not been installed properly, and after time the problem only got worse due to the weight of the gate, and the failure by the installer to anchor the gate with brackets! We are amazed. satisfied and moving forward with A1, as Our back fence needs to be replaced not just repaired. read more

Outstanding work by Daniel. I had a small piece of machinery that needed some love and he was able to get it done within the same day. Highly recommended read more

Excellent work on a small and sentimental job. Knowledgeable and quick - I'll definitely use them again!

Jim is a real artisan and so skilled with metal. He made a beautiful metal trim for our kitchen hood (after it was built and installed - which is not easy to do) after our contractor failed to deliver. Luckily my husband found him and he designed it perfectly. It's the crown jewel of our kitchen. If you need something custom made, he's your guy. He's hard working, fair and very reasonably priced. Thank you!!! read more

Came here to get some minor metal work done. He's a straight shooting no BS kind of guy but gets the job done at a fair price. Dropped my stuff off in the morning and he was able to take care of it for me within a few hours since it was such a small job. read more

Awesome, great find. A real, no bs kind of business. Went in with a very small project, explained what I want, Was told OK, given a fair price and was done in just a few days, just as I wanted. What more can I ask for. He did what I wanted, and he did what he said he would do. read more

I needed a project completed a very long time ago and the final panel came out a little bigger than I needed. I took it over to A-1 to see if I could have a few inches of the metal plate chopped off straight across. The owner told me to not worry about the $ and helped me get it done perfectly. Just remembered this the other day and couldn't believe I forgot to write a review for this business. A huge thanks to A-1! read more

Came by and spoke to owner Jim very professional and honest, the door mirror for my BMW Z4 broke off, I went to just about every welding shop in the valley, everyone said it couldn't be welded, some said its aluminum, some said is zinc, some said is cast etc. Jim said "leave it here and see what I can do, I'll charge you $35" Came back next day, he had done his magic! Perfect welding job, no parts were damaged by the heat. I couldn't believe it! The dealer wanted $390 for the whole assembly since they don't sell separate parts, thanks to Jim I didn't get taken by BMW stealer read more

really nice man. he helped my elderly relative weld something in only a few minutes and was extremely kind to her.

Great, no-nonsense talk and knows what he's talking about. Service was personable, quick, efficient and the costs are very reasonable. The work fixed my problem and I couldn't be happier with my dealings with A1. read more

I own a home in the Hollywood Hills that underwent a $2 million renovation in 2003. With four stories, it took a large investment and a great deal of attention to detail to get my place to look as great as it has. I have a wine cellar and an accompanying adjacent bar underneath which there have been a matching under-counter Sub Zero freezer and refrigerator. The freezer recently gave out and there was no comparable freezer available. As a result, I had to buy a different freezer that, instead of having a single door with a built-in handle, has two separate drawers that require panels and handles to go with them. The rest of the wine bar has beautiful, uniquely-designed custom-made handles made of steel with a brass finish. But when I contacted the original designer of the handles from back in 2003, he said that they only had the 4-inch version of the handles and that he wouldn't create matching 10-inch handles that would match the rest. That's where Jim came in. At first, Jim was dubious about being able to make handles that would match adequately. But with time and some conversation, Jim agreed to take on the task and wow, did he deliver! The handles are not an exact match, but they didn't have to be exact. And, unlike the originals, the new handles were made from real brass instead of from steel with a brass finish. His work was truly amazing and his price was really reasonable to get exactly what I had hoped for. Jim is a true craftsman and he is seriously creative. I plan to use A-1 Weldors for all my future projects that require his amazing talents. read more

I needed the risers on my custom pedalboard cut, but the company is in Maryland. Thanks to Yelp, I found A1 Welders, which was only 5 minutes from my house! I brought my risers, they took a quick look, and asked me if they could hold on to it and look at it in the morning. No problem. When they called and gave the estimate (fair, considering the work done), they asked if I could wait another day. While I preferred not to, I said what ever worked best. I get a call a few hours later, the work was done! Metal fabricators are hard to find and to have one that's easily accessible, fair, and quick is awesome. read more

I wanted a bike rack for my Honda Goldwing and had some parts that could be fabricated. Jim not only fabricated the bike rack, but saw how the frame needed to be reinforced to handle the weight. He understood that towing a trailer is different from the downward pressure the bike would create on the tow hitch. That was 8 years ago, and it has worked great. When I got a new Honda, I went back to Jim to repeat that work on the new bike. He really knows what he is doing, and it work is great. P.S. I see that Kambiz M. wrote a bad review saying he marked up the job 300%. I also found out the guy asked for one weld on the phone, but brought in 3 times more work when he showed up. Not cool. And then he gives Jim a bad review. This is a customer that no one would want. read more

I found A-1 on a google search. I just needed a stove grate repaired after it broke when I dropped it on the tile. The owner Jim, was so helpful and fixed my stove grate for a really respectable price. Then I asked him to make a custom grate for the opening that leads under my house. I gave him the measurements, we discussed it briefly and a couple of days later he called saying it was ready. Fits perfectly and looks perfect! His sign says 'we weld anything' so now I just want to have everything welded! If your looking for a reasonably priced welder who does impeccable work, go here. read more

My girlfriend needed the aluminum legs on her massage table to be shortened and cut down for ergonomic reasons. It wasn't something that a handyman could do, since it was a very hard aluminum that is used to craft aircraft parts. She was afraid to do it, since making any alterations to the table would void her warranty. But, she also didn't want to drop another $600 down for a shorter, custom made table. She took her table to a few places around town and they each quoted her nearly double the price that Andy quoted. She was very happy with the work he did and he gave a very fair rate. She says she wishes she'd had the work done a lot sooner. Call before you visit, since he's a one man operation. He seems to be there until 4pm on weekdays. You can leave a message and he'll return your call. read more

Jim really can do anything! I am a stilt performer and Jim came highly recommended from other stilt performers. I needed to add length to my stilts... not a normal or an easy thing to do. And Jim did it flawlessly. I just called him to help me upgrade my stilts again. I know I can trust him. Added thought. His work not only affects my work, it affects my safety. So my trust in him is a big deal. read more

Jim is awesome...always willing to go the extra mile. Built a custom tow hitch for my trailer/sway bar. Great guy who really cares about his customers. Highly recommend! read more

Love this place! Like a small town business in a big city, Jim delivered excellent service. I can't wait till I have another project.

This guy is just the best I had looked up many, many other welders and they all gave me either a really really high price or they simply said it was to complicated. This guy took a five minute look at my old crappy water tank and said "okay, I do this all the time." The rate was great and everything is just incredibly awesome with him. I definitely recommend Jim to any one who needs any kind of metal work or welding. read more

I found A1 Welders by searching here on Yelp. I had a small project for them to tackle involving my RV. I met with Jim about my project and he quoted me a very fair price. Amazing place for any type of welding their prices are very fair and the owner is very nice and helpful. Went to Ed's Welding a few miles from here they wanted an arm and leg for a small weld ended up coming to a A-1 and got it done for a fraction of the price. I told the owner of the urgency that I needed the weld asap and he stopped everything he was doing and took care of it for me right away thanks again you guys are great read more

I discover A-1 Welder on trusty old Yelp. I been searching for a welder nearly two years. I've red the positive comments about this place, so I had to give it try. I had this 30 year old commercial food steam table that needed to be repaired. The sneeze guard, legs, and the bottom burners were all the loose from 30 years of wear and tear. So, Jim the Master ninja Welder did fantastic job with it. He resurrected my steam table by welding all the loose parts together and giving it another 30 years of life. I just wish I knew about this place years ago. He would of save me the time and the run across LA county. Jim is one of those old school made in America welder that has that American talent that is forgotten. His work is so professional. So glad this place is around to serve us who are in need of a professional and creative welder. I will for sure be back for his service. Kudos to Jim the Ninja Welder!!!! read more

This is as "boutique" as it gets in the welding business. When civilization finally crumbles to dust, Jim will be there welding it back together. Jim will gladly do the smallest of jobs with his honest, (if stressed-out) disposition, although you may have to wait because he is extremely busy all the time. He also does related jobs like silver brazing which are almost impossible to find someone to do. Let's make sure this guy stays in business, cuz we need him. read more

Friendly, fast, expert service. Needed a broken trophy fixed, and Jim, after studying the problem for a moment, saw the best way to fix it (welding a screw to the broken part.) Executed the weld masterfully -- no marks or crud PO no the shiny trophy! Thanks, Jim! read more

Great shop. Owner did a killer job fabricating a bracket for my truck. Clean fast job. Great price. Super friendly. Would highly recommend!

Unfortunately, I cannot speak to the quality of their work. I tried giving a call to discuss a job at my place of work and he was needlessly very rude with me. I had to call three separate times just to get him to speak with me. The first time he answered, but then sent me to voicemail. The second time he interrupted me before I even finished introducing myself and said, "I'm not interested", then hung up on me. When he finally heard me out, it turns out they don't do mobile work. Fine, I understand that, but the whole interaction makes me wonder what happened to this guy to speak with me this way. Why did he have to be so aggressive, making me feel like I was wasting his time for wanting his business? Terrible way to start my morning, thanks for nothing. read more
