Delicious, healthy food and fair prices. The space is small but they have an outdoor dining area. I would definitely recommend this spot if you want an affordable, filling meal that's healthy. And it's in the heart of alameda so you can walk around the other shops read more

My friend and I had the new item: cheesesteak wrap with waffle fries and drinks. The wraps were huge and very tasty & filling for the money. The waffle fries were plenty. The restaurant was very busy for a Thursday lunchtime. Most were for to-go meals.A few people ate inside or outside the restaurant and their meals looked very good! The service is typically normal for this type of restaurant. The ambiance is a simple Mediterranean style no frills decor. We came mainly for the food and fellowship between two long time friends. We came to this restaurant a few times last year. We plan to return when our cravings are high for Q Halal food! read more

Was at Qs halal after a long time. Used to go here for the wings but unfortunately they don't have wings anymore. The place got a little refresh now. I ordered the smash burger, the burger itself was a little dry , maybe I'll ask for more sauce next time but the bun should be toasted cause it was cold. Also added an order of fries and drink. They have waffle fries which is diff and cool. The place is always clean, and the food came out quick too read more

Ordered a large to-go order via their website for pick-up in store for a girls night dinner. There's a parking lot just to the left of the restaurant that usually has a few spots open. The staff were super friendly and even though they had just ran out of the dessert I ordered online, they happily replaced it with any other dessert of my choice. We were so happy with all of the food!! We tried the chicken kebab platter, gyro plate, falafel bowl, Greek salad, smash burger, hummus with pita, and samosas. And don't forget to try the garlic fries!!! My car smelled of garlic for the rest of the week but it was so worth it. Highly recommend ordering directly from their website! read more

You really need to update your menu board as your prices do NOT reflect what gets rung up. Quality/Quantity - Combo Bowl - Single serving. Just enough for one person. The flavors were okay. The meats were dry, Gyro Wrap - Chicken. Again, just enough for one serving. The chicken was also dry, but the wrap was juicy. It was dripping with juice, probably due to the other ingredients. Baklava - Not bad. We used to come here and Troy's back in the day. I think I will stick with Troy's for now. Atmosphere - Small local business. Indoor and outdoor seating. Really busy when we got here, due to the end of the fair outside. One unisex bathroom. Limited street parking; again, due to the fair. But because we are locals, it is not a problem for us. Service - Counter service. See below. Self service drinks. Price - $33. My daughter questioned and commented that he rang us up for different prices than on their menu board. He ignored her, and quickly threw away the receipt... Because it was less than a $1 difference, I also ignored him. But this is a poor business practice. As we can see from the taped over prices on your menu board, you guys have NO problem changing prices, so it should reflect the same. BTW - Your online prices are also different from your in store prices...? Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2013. read more

Q's Halal always hits right. I like to order the combo wrap or platter with the waffle fries. I've been to places with more sides in the platter, but it doesn't matter when the meat and rice works so well together that you don't really need much else. The last time I went, I think they added a new green sauce that added even more flavor to the dish. The restaurant itself is basic - tables, chairs, self-serve type of place. I went during the Christmas Fair a few weeks ago, and the food took almost 20 minutes, but I was not in a rush, so it was not a big deal. Usually, I think it's pretty quick. read more

Located on Central Avenue, Q's offers Mediterranean comfort fare using hand-butchered, halal-certified meats. The place is cozy, modern, and welcoming, with a father-and-son chef team. Conveniently located right across from the Alameda Theatre & Cineplex, Q's has become a popular post-movie stop. Lots of moviegoers cross the street to grab a chicken wrap or gyro plate--it's fast, satisfying, and made to order. read more

"Delicious and Fresh!" Q's Halal Chicken never disappoints. The chicken is perfectly grilled, juicy, and full of flavor. I had the Gyro Philly Wrap and waffle fries. All in all pretty good. The wrap was very greasy and the pitta bread was a little tough which I didn't like but the flavors were good. Waffle fries were crispy and delicious, the portion can be increased. read more

I used to love the gyros here, but today's was a big disappointment. The pita wasn't warmed, and it was a drippy mess. I had to ask for green sauce (zhug.) I wanted a fountain Coke, but there was no ice. Someone brought a bowl of ice from the kitchen, but the Coke was flat, no carbonation at all. The drink case contained only Pepsi products so I'm guessing no one is servicing the fountain drinks. The messy wrap dripped all over my hands and jacket and i needed to wash my hands. Restroom was locked. It has always been open for the 10 years or so I've been eating here. I was too irritated to ask for the key. I just wanted to get out. The meat was still good, just much less of it. I understand trying to trim costs so I wouldn't mind if the rest was up to par. We won't be returning. What happened? New ownership maybe? It makes me sad. read more

I stopped by Q's Halal this afternoon for lunch right at noon and the place was very empty, with only one other party dining indoors. The menu here is limited: basically you can choose a platter, wrap, salad and either chicken and/or lamb. My wife ordered a lamb gyro with a side of waffle fries while I got the gyro platter with double meat. In total, our meal came out to $43 with tax and tip. The lamb meat is tender and neither oily or too dry. I like that the meat is cut up to bite size and crisped up over the grill. The food is reasonably priced but the lackluster service (i.e. you go to the counter to pick up your food and you need to bus your own table, just like at a Costco food court), intimidating glare from the cashier when the iPad's tip screen is presented, and atmosphere -- full of flies both indoors and outside on the patio, prevents me from recommending it without wholeheartedly. read more

Waffle fries are delicious! We enjoyed a gyro wrap and falafel wrap here. Gyro wrap was flavorful with a good amount of meat! Pita and veggies were fresh. The falafel wrap was similar but not as tasty as the gyro. Prices are fairly standard. The people are very nice, and the food is absolutely excellent! Would highly recommend

Local Mediterranean restaurant located across from Cinema Grill and the Alameda Theater in downtown alameda. Food: - Gyro Wrap: ordered a chicken gyro wrap with excitement looking at the other photos on Yelp. I wish I wasn't as disappointed, but there was such lack of flavor with the chicken and pita wrap to this dish. The chicken was also on the dry side. You can order a combo with this to get a drink and waffle cut fries. The fries were my favorite part of the dish, but they aren't Mediterranean... - Gyro Platter: ordered the lamb / beef gyro platter, which comes with basmati rice, chutney sauce, yogurt sauce, and pita. This dish had a bit more flavor. Miscellaneous: - Parking available via street, a small parking lot to the left of the restaurant, and across the street in the Cinema Grill parking structure - About 6 tables available (biggest table can seat 4) - They close at 8pm on Fridays, so would recommend coming before 7:30pm read more

It's actually my second time ordering their Gyro platter containing grilled lamb, basmati rice, pita and greens on side with yogurt and chutney sauce. The meat tastes just so delicious!!! The meal itself is plenty and pretty fulfilling. I suppose you eat the meat with the chutney sauce??? I still don't know lol Anyways, for whoever is reading my review, try eating your steamed rice with sour cream and i bet you won't go wrong for that lol... just saying... Food is a blessing and being able to get it and eat it and fully enjoy it is an another blessing!!! Gosh, i am so blessed. And this place is an another blessing too!!! Keep it up!!! read more

This spot has been on my radar for a while, and I finally got a chance to try it! The meat is halal, which is great for those with any dietary restriction. The seating indoors and outdoors are both great options and the service was professional and quick. Most importantly the food was delicious! I tried the Gyro Philly Meal with Waffle Fries and I would 100% get it again. It was served fresh and hot, and the rest was amazing. I was tempted to try the bowl or maybe even their chicken sandwich but something told me go with the Gyro Philly and I'm so glad I did. There's a public parking lot next door, so that was also convenient. The restaurant is in a great location with multiple things in the area to walk off the food after. Overall, I highly recommend checking them out. You won't be disappointed! read more

Consistently good food at a consistently fair price. I would not recommend the chicken though, it is very dry white meat. And I personally would want onions on my gyros, but they are delicious even without. read more

I ordered pickup for a chicken bowl, gyro plate and seasoned waffle fries. I asked for sauce on the side for both orders and one only one had sauce on the side. I haven't had Q's in a few month but they are skimping out on the food and raising prices. My fries were extremely stale and not edible. :( ------------------------------ EDIT** The owner called me and sincerely apologized for my order and I really appreciated the call to explain why my order was not up to par. He offered to take care of me next time I swung by and offered to make me fresh fries for when I come back. Lots of restaurants don't take the time to fix or apologize for their mistakes so I really appreciate the owner for taking time to call me. Thank you!! read more

I've been coming here for close to seven years now. I'm sorry to say the portions have decreased and quality has gone down. I always get the chicken kebab platter, it used to come with two pieces of pita bread, now only one. Used to include thick and flavorful sauce (both the tzatziki and chutney). Now they are thin and runny. The chicken portion is noticeably smaller these days, very hit or miss. I will say the current employees/owners are kinder than those previous! I visited recently on a weekday night, only customer in the restaurant, and unfortunately waited over half an hour for two plates. read more

Gyro wrap here has iceberg lettuce and cucumbers instead of the traditional onions and tomatoes that I would expect in a gyro. The pita bread was good and the gyro meat was OK but this was not what I would call a gyro. read more

Hands down my new favorite local kabob spot. Parking in this area can be tricky but in addition to street parking there a garage close by. They have outdoor seating with heaters also. You order inside at the counter and when they call your numbers you grab your own food. I had the gyro salad which came with perfectly seasoned lamb and beef gyro meet and both chutney and tzatziki sauces on the side. The salad was a perfect portion size, I even had some left over. I especially appreciated that there was enough meat to get through the whole salad. Also, I am a huge tzatziki fan so when I went back inside to purchase an additional side of it, they kindly handed it to me and said "we won't charge you for this!" with a smile on their faces. My sister had the Gyro Philly which looked SO good. She said it was and she finished it all to prove it. She requested it without ranch and said she would definitely order it again. They offer some drinks like mango lassi and soda but we had water. There is bottled water and also free water cups near the soda machine. I will definitely be back here. Food and service were both top notch! read more

Overpriced $20 for a scoop of rice a quarter of a chicken breast a piece of non-bread and a tiny salad when ordering online they attempt to charge you convenience fees, next to the overpriced and small proportion food I will say the food is good though, but at the end of the day not worth the money read more

If you like falafel this is the place. They are not cooked in advance, but to order. They are crispy on the outside and moist, warm and fluffy inside. Perfection. Tried their cucumber and lettuce gyro wrap, or as they call it Chicken Gyro Wrap. It's mostly veggies, the bread is meh, not particularly good for holding so much lettuce and cucumber. Chicken, when found, was okay, nothing special. Service was fine, location of the restaurant is good and sitting outside isn't too bad. The fries look good but do not taste good, they're just soaking in oil, probably oil wasn't hot enough, or they were refried. Their fountain drink taste a little chemically, not sure if they had a recent PM and they haven't tossed the first batch of ice yet. Food 0 Service 3 Ambiance 3 It's a SKIP read more

If you've ever been walking down Park street, the delicious smelling food is coming from this place. The aroma was enough to convince me to stop in. Not bad but I probably wouldn't come back- if I could, I'd give this place 3.5 stars. It's about $12 for a gyro without sides and I think it's like $15 something if you add a soda and fries. The gyro tasted refreshing and healthy. And it's a pretty good portion for the price. But flavor wise it wasn't anything special. It could've had a bit more seasoning or even just having a few sauces available on the tables would have been nice. There aren't even ketchup bottles out for the fries, they give you like 2 to-go packets. It just felt like a to go place. Like they don't really want people hanging around eating at the restaurant. That being said, the ambiance inside is not great. Kind of dingy. Not a ton of napkins or utensils. If you come here I would definitely recommend eating outside (it was raining so we couldn't) or getting this to go. Again, the food is pretty good but it's definitely more of a to go spot. read more

I remember this place being better. Food was good, but was lacking. Ordered a chicken salad through their online site. Was charged a $1.50 just for that. Pictures advertised for the chicken salad included olives, but didn't even get one. Ordered the tomatoes on the side which they did remove, but didn't include them on the side. Also, the size of the salad shrunk while the price increased. You would think if you pay more, either the size would increase or stay the same, but that was not the case. Times are tough, I guess. read more
