I really miss the old owners. I hate that they got bought out. The workers here are great though so I'm giving three stars! However, I was incredibly disappointed when I went to get grass seed and all the big bags (the ones you get more for your money on...IN STORE not outside) were chewed through by mice, and covered in mouse poop and pee. I know it's not the employees fault but it was disgusting and Because I had a screaming teething baby and I didn't want to make any other stops I was forced to buy several of the small bags which got me less for me money not to mention you don't know until you pull the bag out so then I was touching mouse poop and pee not my best experience to say the least We use to LOVE ace. This store use to be the absolute best location. It's really gone downhill since the new owners though. At this point I don't know that ace is a better choice over just going down the street to Home Depot. Hoping as covid restrictions drop they'll be able to focus more on customers and store cleanliness and excel. :) read more

They are the friendliest, most helpful store around. ACE carries such a great variety of items. I had two employees seek out slime ingredients for my little boy! Then they helped to guide me to things I didn't know I needed. But the products they recommended work great. I got some home cleaning supplies and now my toilets are sparkling clean. Their positive attitude is contagious! The employee who checked us out was so nice to my kids. And a man in the checkout next to us bought my kids a little toy! Wow! The staff are polite, helpful and prompt in helping customers all day and every day. If they dont have something they will offer to find it for customers. In house services like storm screens and window repair are excellent. They also fix lawn equipment and do sharpening. A truly amazing place right in the neighborhood! Love this store. Recently moved a few doors down, renovated, and re-opened. The store is very clean. Parking lot is large & easy to get in and out of. Decent selection of items from lumber, pet supplies, building supplies, tools, to garden needs. You never know what you will find here. The thing that sets this place apart from other stores is the super friendly and helpful staff. If you need something, they will find it for you. If they can't answer your question, they will research it and get an answer for you. The best customer service I have ever seen in a hardware store, for sure! read more

I was very disappointed with my first experience with the new store. One employee was nice, but he gave completely wrong information about the "lifetime warranty" of a large purchase item. All the other employees were rude as well, and the "boss" lady grudgingly honored what the "nice" employee told me, but it made me feel like I was in the wrong. Also, when the cashier was checking out my items, one other large purchase item displayed the wrong price when it was labeled as on sale. I showed the "boss" lady that the item was displayed as being on sale. She removed the sale and informed me the sale ended the day before. I felt like a heel for even mentioning that the register charged the wrong price on the large purchase item. They did go ahead and honor the display price, but instead of refunding the difference back onto my card, the cashier charged the difference twice instead! Unfortunately, I didn't notice the cashier charged the difference instead of refunding the difference until I got home. I looked at my bank account, only to find the additional charge and no change to the messed up charge pending. Now that the store is closed for the day, I won't have a chance to get back there to have it corrected it until tomorrow evening. Such a hassle! No apologies for their mistakes! Big disappointment! If they give me a hard time tomorrow about correcting their mistakes, I'll get a print-out of my bank account showing the transactions. I certainly will not be recommending the new store to other people and I highly doubt I'll return to the new store on 14th & Superior! I will take my business elsewhere. UPDATE: I returned the next day to get a refund and had no problems. The employees were a bit more nice this time and quickly gave the refund when I presented both the original receipt and the receipt showing the amount was charged again instead of being refunded. They didn't apologize for the mistake, but the same "boss" lady as yesterday told the same cashier as yesterday that the charge should not have happened in the first place. I'm not sure if saying that to the cashier in front of customers was very wise, perhaps she should have told him that after we left. I would have appreciated an apology more so than hearing the young cashier being reprimanded. read more
