They're open 24 hours and we can walk there from my boyfriend's apartment. Win and win. Well, except when they're closed for cleaning. At least the walk isn't so bad when I do find out they're closed? The deli sandwiches are a filling lunch and a tastier alternative to Subway. The bakery stocks the cute little tiny La Brea for one baguettes [the grocery store bakery I work at does not, so I have to buy them here!] and they have the "extreme" pastry case with really tasty looking things hiding inside, including cupcakes with pigs on them. I love pigs, which is why I've had a pig cupcake in the fridge since my boyfriend moved here in September [it's still adorable, and I wasn't planning on eating it anyway!] I generally buy produce from the grocery store I work at, but when I've had to supplement it with QFC's produce I've been pleased. QFC can be a bit pricey but overall the convenience of a 24hr market next door [you know, for when the clock strikes 1:45 and I realize I really want a bottle of green apple Smirnoff...] is worth the extra pennies. read more

I'm not feeling the friendliness of this store. I waited at the bakery counter and the woman behind the counter ignored me. I watched her, waiting for her to even look at me - nothing. Then she goes out in front of the counter and starts playing with the items on the tables. I hung around for a few more minutes - now just to see how long she could ignore me. After about 4 minutes I finally just walked away without buying anything. They had a nice selection though! Had the exact fruit flan tart I was looking for. Too bad they wouldn't let me buy it! read more

I don't typically shop for groceries at QFC but I stop here once in awhile for some items. This location has a wonderful sushi selection. The cashiers are pleasant and have not been sassy to me which is a huge relief. I will continue to stop by at this location :) read more

There's not a lot to complain about with this QFC. They're open 24 hours, which is nice. There's always ample parking. Its also usually not too crowded when I go - which means lines are pretty short. Staff is friendly, both the actual store staff and the in-location Starbucks. The food itself is pretty good. Be on the lookout for sales - their regular prices are not great, but when stuff is on sale (which something always is), its a good deal. However, be wary of the on sale produce. This seems to be older stuff that they want to sell off before it goes bad. Its tempting, but it might not be as good a deal as it seems. Overall, a good neighborhood grocery store. One of the better QFC locations I've been to. read more

I love QFC but will never go to Kirkland QFC ever!! Fruits and veggies are always rotten and once , I had purchased a box of white rice which had worms in it. Highly recommend the staff to improve quality of produce in the store. read more

QFC tends to be our go-to grocery store. They always have some good deals for the things we buy and run regular sales that we check out often. The bakery section looks pretty good, though we typically don't buy things there. The produce section is good and fresh with decent prices. We have never eaten anything bad from there. The entrance/exit to this QFC can get a little crowded, but that is it's only flaw. The staff does a good job, but does not tend to be as outwardly friendly as other QFCs. read more

This is really the most convenient grocery shopping that you can get to from I405. More times than I can count I have stopped here to get snacks and lunches for business meetings and the deli section is always ready to go with custom or regular orders. Great place to go in a pinch. It also features a nice and quiet coffee area that serves as a good backup when Starbucks is over capacity. read more

Terrible experience this evening. New store literally within walking distance of my home. Needed almond milk and fruit tonight. Went to the back of the store to grab milk and when I picked up carton the bottom opened up. Milk spilled everywhere which was no biggy totally a fixable thing. It was late in the evening no employees within sight so I grabbed my fruit and went to the register. I immediately told the cashier "Alisha" what had just happened and she made no eye contact, did not acknowledge and was extremely passive. I asked her if she would let someone know and her response was "yeah I guess". I was not comfortable with the interaction so I called and spoke with a manager on my way home. He knew nothing about the carton of milk that was spilled in the back of the store and thanked me for calling. QFC you have a great model at this location but please work on training your front line staff. read more

Everyone is always very friendly when I come in with my kids. My most recent experience was with Debbie in the floral department. I purchased tulips for my son's teachers and had made vases for them. I asked her about small boxes and the best way to transport them to his school without spilling over in the car. She quickly grabbed some small boxes for me and made them up as well as giving me a larger box to carry them in. The flowers made it safely in their vases to the school and the teachers loved them. They even commented on how nice and easy it was to take home in their cars too! Thank you, Debbie! read more

I am not sure I should write about the Mount Saint Helens sandwich or about the thoughtful service I received today - both are great. The Free Friday online offers do attract me to the store and today was no exception. The item I was looking for, while my sandwich was being toasted, was no where to be found. I picked up a like item by the same brand and went to pay. I thought the coupon my take for the product it did not. I asked at the self check-out if the product l wanted was there and learned that that QFC does not. I was quickly assured that they would honor the coupon for the like item. It was a nice surprise and I appreciated the thoughtfulness. I will continue to return. read more

I wanted to return a $5 bottle of Tabasco because I literally found it for half the price at Winco. The self checkout clerk called for the manager and a minute or two later P.I.C. Louis came, I asked him if he could process the return for me. He just kept looking at the receipt and finally asked if I bought the item at his store which he knew I didn't because he was staring confusedly at the receipt from a QFC an hour away. The self checkout clerk was the first to chime in and say "no" which was odd to me and then another woman worker said that inventory issues prevented them from processing a return from another store. I'm not sure why the person in charge cant speak for himself and let me know the situation. I believe he could have processed the return for me if he wanted but the situation felt really uncomfortable with so many people involved. I won't be going to any QFC in the future because there are so many other options available. read more

want to give ZERO. was just in QFC totem lake in kirkland. i was there an hour ago. a dog (not a service dog) that was big and dirty leaning into meat counter was allowed to roam aisles with unkempt and dirt covered man that was carrying dogs chain. the dogs nose and jowls were on the red meat, pork, lamb, and chicken. this is pretty nasty. seafood is behind a counter so it only has dog nose smeared on glass window preventing us from touching non frozen seafood. again this was not a service dog. this dog was filthy and not trained to be service dog as it bounced about and zig zagged around aisles. i pointed it out to staff, they said it was no big deal. i left the items i was going to buy in cart and left store. i now have trader joes, whole foods, and safeway as stores i can go to as they are just as close of a drive for me. QFC lost my business. as QFC's go this one is pretty dank, compared with dt bellevue and dt kirkland. they must cater to the subsidized housing apartments nearby and so not really care since they have a captive audience. got to wonder what they do when no one is looking, if this is how they act when someone is looking. Can grocery stores get Health Inspection ratings like restaurants? read more

I can't believe I'm reviewing a grocery store, let alone a QFC, but I can't deny exceptional service when I see it. First of all, the last time I was in a QFC was about four years ago when I used to frequent a shop in the same strip mall (OKAY, OKAY, okay! The shop was a Dollar Tree. Don't judge me.) Anyway, I remember this very day because it was the first and only time I've ever left a cart full of groceries behind and walked out of a store. Today I had a doctors appointment and my doctor just recently changed locations. It was Friday afternoon and I was in desperate need of a beer yet the only nearby option was a QFC. I was grinding my teeth while pulling into a parking spot but I was pretty desperate for a brewsky so I decided to walk the plank. I felt my morals begin to leave me like a snake shedding its skin, but the overwhelming sensation of regret and contempt for QFC (acquired from my previous experience) faded without the slightest realization. Prices were decent, Rainer was on sale, and I even got some food for my pets. When I went to check out, it was the typical Disneyland line that I experience at Safeway, yet before I could pull out my phone to complain to my husband, a kind voice behind me asked if she could help. The cashier, Alex, was dealing with some technical issues in the self checkout stations, but was able to ring me up and send me on my way like she was competing in the final round of Supermarket Sweep. All the while, she was incredibly charming and polite. I will give this QFC another visit and can officially cross this store off my "do not shop" List. (Don't get any ideas Hobby Lobby- you're on the list for life.) read more

Not my favorite store chain, but of my routine "Saturday morning shop with mom" locations (here, downtown Bothell or Canyon Park), it's mid-range. I don't know it's layout as good as I do dwtn Bothell, and I don't loathe it like I do Canyon Park. The bakery, deli and sushi bar set it apart from the other main grocer chains in this corner of Kirkland, and the new(ish) partnership with Shell for gas discounts is super nice for me. I only tend to shop here on the trips where their sales on the "master pantry list" blow out their competitors. 1. Entrance to parking lot is a cluster-f*ck if there is any other traffic almost all of the time 2. They routinely under-staff check-outs, so I am guaranteed to get the dirty looks from the lone cashier and the people who are unlucky enough to be behind me and my two full carts in line. 3. They have almost no capacity to deal with lines due to shelf spacing. 4. The aisles seem far narrower than any other store I frequent, including Metropolitan Market over in Houghton 5. They *routinely* do not have the advertised sale item in stock or listed in store as in weekly advert. Today, we found two aisles of near empty shelves, none of the sale items, and a store full of upset customers and clueless employees. I eventually overheard an employee tell another customer they "missed" some big shipment. It took him 20 minutes to find that out. Don't you think the employees should have noticed they didn't have to stock shelves for a few days? Or that no trucks came by? They didn't offer any customers rain checks for the sale price *or* an answer to if/when these "missing shipments" would arrive. I rarely shop at QFC because 1) Safeway is closer to my house and 2) QFC seems more expensive than Safeway. However, I stopped by on my way home from the gym and was impressed with their produce selection. I buy a lot of it and everything was so fresh looking. I went in in the early evening and it was pretty quiet and no long check out lines. That was nice. read more

I had a very poor experience with their pharmacy. They recently purchased the pharmacy we normally frequent to get our dogs meds. I called a couple of days after the purchase of our old pharmacy. We were told QFC had purchased it, and our order would be ready by Friday (it was on a Wednesday) we showed up on that Saturday and were told that they had no record or our order, sorry that it happened and it's been happening a lot, we called the wrong number (even though we talked to some one at the QFC when the order was placed) they wouldn't re-enter the information and said we had to come back on the Monday when the new pharmacist would be able to help us. They had a nice sign out front too saying Welcome Evergreen Pharmacy customer.. yeah.. welcome.. :( When we came back again on Monday, we were told that they were too busy and they wanted to know if they could outsource it. We understood, at least they had the order but what was that Saturday girl thinking...... We said, ok, call it to the other place and be sure to have them call our cell numbers because we don't answer the home phone. We had him write down our cell number and repeatedly asked that he provide the correct number -cell NOT home.. I called the new place the next day and they said oh yeah we called you this am to ask if you wanted us to order your dog's meds (they called the wrong home number and weren't given our cell numbers) The new place said the meds would be almost 9x's the cost of our previous pharmacy. I am positive they were giving us likely the wrong thing. I called our vet and they gave us another pharmacy in Woodinville who does compounding and they had the correct dosage, product and for the same price that we had been getting it. The level of detail orientation we saw from them was appalling and a bit scary. Perhaps they will get their act together once things slow down, but I am too afraid to go back. read more

Very nice staff/mgr not only helped me find the raisins but talked to me about the merits of soaking the raisins to plump and soften them before baking oatmeal raisin cookies that i am trying to make "chewy" at my BF's behest for his bday 2morrow. I have a feeling there will be many batches in the trash today and many trips back to qfc. :-( read more

A bad place to buy produce. Their over-active produce-showering system (who ever thought of such a moronic concept, please, don't raise your hand) makes everything over-the-top soggy and the various bagged veggies seem to actually rot in the bags because they're so wet. I shop there when I see they have some good sales but otherwise stick to Trader Joe's across the bridge. read more

I bought two gallons of orange juice from this QFC, and it was due the day sold! When I went back to return it, they sent me over to Fred Myers to get the juice (Big waste of time). Just a heads up: this review is mostly deli-centric. They make sandwiches and they make them the way I like them... big and tasty. You start with a checklist of breads, meats, cheeses, condiments and toppings that you must fill out and then they heap it on to the point where you almost need a second piece of bread on each side to contain it all. My fave: corned beef and cheddar with diced pepperoncini on wheat bread. They also have some super tasty soups, generally six different varieties at a time. The ladies and "the dude" that work the deli are friendly and very personable (sometimes a little too much IMO). Unfortunately the pricing is pretty high (something I've noticed is a common trend at QFCs) and that's killing a star. I think a whole sandwich runs at almost $8 and a small cup of soup is a couple of bucks so you're looking at over $10 after tax which can quickly add up. I go to lunch here on special occasions only because of the cost. The other lost star is solely due to the guy that works the Starbucks stand inside the store. He's super friendly to all the ladies and as soon as I step up to order... instant crabby asshole. WTF? What did I do to you man? Is it because I say no to your offer of a $.94 pastry with my coffee every time I order? It's not you dude, it's me. I'm trying to lose the small tire around my midsection and your pastries are not part of the plan to do so. Lighten up or let your friendly underling work the register if you are unable to do so. Update: The crabby asshole is no longer there so star gained. Now if only QFC corporate would drop their deli prices... read more

Sometimes I think some of the food is priced a little high and often I have difficulty finding what I need but what I like is that I don't have difficulty finding staff members to help me. I like the lay out of the store and in general I like kroger food stores. read more

The spunky gray haired lady in the deli department is fantastic. Great personality. Overall the store is great. One of the store managers did me a favor and special ordered a case of canned goods that are not available in this part of the county. Very cool. The only problem is he is either gone or I keep speaking to the wrong person. I am unable to get them to bring in SKYLINE CHILI! Bummer. read more

This has been our go to grocery store for 10 years. The staff is great. We have employees that we know by name, and know us by name, in almost all of the departments. Everyone is always super friendly, and the service is always good. Definitely prefer the quality of their meat and produce to that of nearby Safeway. With coupons sent in the mail and included in local newspapers, we save a ton of money on food and other products. read more

This review is focused on the meat department, which is outstanding. Although we live closer to Safeway, and do most of our shopping there, when I'm having guests over for a special dinner (Holiday Prime Rib, New Year's Lamb Shanks) I always pre-order my meat from the meat department here. They do a beautiful job trimming the meat, and the quality is always top notch. They are friendly, helpful, and good at what they do. Love the meat department at this QFC! read more

Its a little small-ish compared to others but very clean. They have a sushi bar, the bakery did an awesome job on our son's birthday cake. Wine selection has something for all, also love the vast choices of organic and gluten free items. Starbucks onsite, they don't allow tipping which basically means I can buy myself an extra machiatto each week. read more

The pharmacy here continues to go downhill....and the people working the counter don't seem to care as they were telling me they would be happy to send my business elsewhere.....so, I am doing that on my own as they obviously have problems. Here's the background (not that they care): * My cat needs compounded medicine to save his life. We used to use Evergreen Pharmacy by Evergreen Hospital. QFC bought them and things switched over. * First time we used them, my cat needed a refill right around the switchover and they had a major screwup and never called us. Used their system, left a message, and waited 1-2-3-4 days, then called again. They rushed the prescription and I picked it up. Mistakes happen and they apologized. I was fine with that. * Next time, things went fine (this medicine is lifetime for our cat and requires a refill every 35-40 days or so). * The following time, I noticed that the bottle they gave us had issues as the medicine was coming out of it when not being touched...wasting the medicine ($$$$) and making a mess. * The next time, I mentioned it and one of the staff suggested a different type of cap and went and got it. That worked fine. * The next time after that, I picked it up and had the messy cap. I asked for the cap from before and got attitude as if I were a picky customer and making the gal do a lot of extra work (I was nice with my ask, but that attitude sure wasn't). She got the last laugh on me, though.....the way she put it on, the medicine LEAKED OUT a bit on the way home!!! loss of some medicine, a mess to clean up, the bottle was messy, etc. I called in to mention this and got more attitude (probably the same person or the one I had today). I just said "I'm calling to let you know this happened so it can be prevented". One would think they would apologize or offer a slight discount, or even "bring it back and we will redo it" or something. Nope. Just "it happens". * Then, today I go in (called in yesterday to their automated system, got the "your prescription will be ready tomorrow after 12pm" message. I go in around 2pm today. Gal at counter goes back to pharmacist, who looks out at me with an unhappy/unpleasant look. She comes back and says "your next in line". I was tired and not combative, but definitely tired, and said "so, how long's that going to be". She didn't even answer, just shoved a piece of paper in my face and told me "compounded prescriptions takes TWO DAYS! See that? Right there! TWO DAYS". I said "the automated process I called told me noon today" and she said "YES. WE HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT THAT TO CHANGE IT!" I was getting a LOT of attitude from her. I told her "why are you giving me attitude as I have been very pleasant but asking questions because I was doing what I was told by the system? She said "a lot of customers have been complaining and I am tired of it". Well, if a lot of customers have been complaining, there is obviously a problem that needs addressed and, as this is likely the first time I have questioned/complained, and I was polite about it (I have been on the other side of the fence in a previous job, so I always start out very respectful), I don't appreciate getting the attitude directed at me. I asked again "you didn't tell me but I asked "when it is likely to be done" and she said 5pm. It was 2pm. I live ~30 minutes away, with no traffic. I was NOT going to go there around 5pm with that traffic. She said "here's the phone number we have on record... xxx xxx xxxx....we'll call you when it is ready". That doesn't really help when I am already there and anything else is now a 60+minute round trip.... She then said "well, I can transfer you to a different pharmacy". She probably meant another QFC pharmacy, but, that, to me, is just the same as "take your business elsewhere....we either can't handle it or we don't want you". So, I made some calls and I WILL BE taking my business elsewhere. Note: While typing this, their automated system called me and said it was ready. Then I got a call from the same person I talked to there....after I asked for a manager (I didn't know it was her until later), she said the manager wasn't in until tomorrow....but she said she would mail it out for no extra cost. Since my cat needs the medicine (we will run out in the next 5 days or so as, due to the leakage, there was less in the bottle than scheduled), I paid and will receive it, but I am still moving my business elsewhere. They just have too many problems going on at this pharmacy right now. read more
