Cafe style -you order at the counter and you pick up your own stuff at the counter What i love about this place is that its similar to asia. You can customize your own drink. Crispy chicken tenders hubby and i both liked it. Coleslaw was nice as wel even though the portion for that is small. Available cutlery was a spork and it was a little flimsy. Otherwise, place is nice and clean and i do like the exent i can customize my tea. Overall, we would definitely be back.

The drinks - in short delicious. Mine was sweet and full of flavor. And with the spicy chicken I had a second one. Hers, she loved it. Made her miss home. The chicken and fries. The chicken was nicely breaded and fried. Great pieces of white meat, the spicy definitely had a bite to it. And we also had the mango habinero dipping sauce. The fries crisp on the outside and tender inside. Tasted wonderful. And everything was so hot and fresh.

We happened to be in the Lincoln area for an event, and he begged to visit the Hi-Way Diner again to relive those memories he cherishes. It was pretty early in the morning, so a breakfast stop did sound pretty appealing to me. We popped in and the interior is pretty cute, with vintage signs and items scattered throughout. The look of the building is a little worse for wear, I will say, with musty carpets, fluorescent lighting, and a faded smell of a building that has been standing a while (which this has) along with the delicious smells of the food cooking. Ignoring the smells and sights, we stood in line to get a table. It was a Sunday when we were there, so very busy obviously. We were seated at a booth, and perused the menu. Let me tell you right now now, you do NOT come here for health food. It's either very heavy meaty options, or sweet pancakes and waffles. Because of the aforementioned heaviness of the fare, my husband and I decided to split two entrees and share the sides. I chose the South Street Meatloaf, and it tasted just like my mom used to make, with a ketchupy brown sugar glaze. My better half chose the Chicken Fried Chicken, and it was ENORMOUS. For our sides, we had mashed potatoes and corn, and those were pretty standard - nothing to write home about. We packed most of our entrees and sides away to take home, because my husband said we had to try the pancakes too! He got the standard pancakes and doused them in butter and blueberry syrup. Can't go wrong there. I got the Magic Toast and chose the French Toast flavor. It was very well battered and came with some delicious syrup to top it with. Highly recommend trying anything from the Magic Toast menu. Hi-Way Diner is definitely a hole in the wall style eatery, but it's worth a stop in Lincoln if you're looking for a tasty breakfast at a pretty affordable price!

I've seen it packed here on the weekends! They serve up yummy American food. I ordered the chicken slider appetizer, hubby got a salad with candied walnuts, strawberry and poppy seed dressing, our kiddo got the kids mac n cheese with fruit. Everything was quite tasty. The only slider I didn't care for was the Nashville hot, the sauce had an interesting after taste. My favorite slider was the honey mustard bacon and arugula. This dish made me inspired to make it at home. The salad was yummy. My toddler enjoyed the Mac and cheese and cookie for dessert. What gives this place five stars is a convenience and location.
