The 2 stars are for one of the staff that was working hard and understands customer service. Tech Support was rebooting from the root. It's time consuming but nothing can be done in today's society when computers are down. I took a seat and pulled out the novel that has been riding in my car for years. They thought they could ring up the last before me. Nope, another 20 mins wait. One young lady had ordered 2 tacos but had to run back to work since her lunchtime was up. They should have comp'd her for wasting her lunch hour . They were going to throw it away anyway since it got cold waiting on the computer. I went out my way to find this place because my FB post said an order of guacamole and cheese dip is included in every order. The steam table had pans of dried up looking ingredients like most other type of establishments like this. I had preordered 3 items to take to love ones nearby. After seeing those dried up pans I refused to complicate their lives with food that looks like it will create diarrhea or heartburn. I got a small order of nachos with meat in the side. Got my dog the pork since I never come home with her a food reward the few times she can't go with me. I found their process of putting cheese a bowl and the other topping one want, then the chips in a bag different. I flipped the bowl over to spread onto my chips with a fork. It was disappointing because the chips are fried in batches hours ago. They are thicker than I prefer and lack flavor. Now here's what really gripped me. One staff member kept asking the hardworking co-worker for help in using the register. She handed my order to me all stacked up together. Where I had to push everything in my breast to prevent anything from falling. Are bags being deducted from her pay. Computer are down again. I sit again to wait. Not long this time. I've sat there 45 minutes or more and she tried to charge me for a small guac and other miscellaneous fees. The hardworking stepped in and rung me up that prevented me from telling them to keep that crao. It wasn't be the discount group members get on their first visit, maybe $2. As long as I had waited I deserved it and more. Anyway. I ate what I could, dumped the rest and brought the pork home. I spent $11 instead of 5 times more than I planned on spending. The facility is new so everything is extremely clean and organized. There wasn't sliced limes nor lemons for the sweet tea. The tea was good nonetheless. I doubt if I back or order from the business next door. I would hire the hardworking staffer however. read more

QDOBA is your new utopian chipotle. In what alternate universe are guac and queso free toppings? QDOBA offers build your own bowls, salads, burritos, tacos, nachos, and quesadillas with FREE gauc and queso. This was my first trip here, and honestly it exceeded my expectations. The inside was incredibly clean and we were immediately greeted. I ordered be build your own salad, which came with the option of a fried tortilla bowl (also free)- say yes, you won't regret it! I got the birria brisket as my protein and then added almost every topping offered. My boyfriend ordered a build your own bowl with steak and lots of toppings as well. I downloaded the app and signed up for the rewards program, as you can redeem a free chips and queso side upon registering. Overall, the food was delicious and all the toppings tasted super fresh! QDOBA is a quick and personalizable meal that is conveniently located in downtown Birmingham. QDOBA's proximity to Chipotle Mexican Grill make it seem like they have serious competition, but QDOBA offers many additions that Chipotle does not. QDOBA offers free guac and queso whereas other Mexican grills administer an upcharge for each. There is also a much more vibrant and diverse arrangement of toppings provided. As someone who loves spicy foods, I can appreciate how QDOBA has option to add spicy queso, a chile crema sauce, and pickled jalapeños. In my opinion, these additional options enhanced the flavors and appearance of my bowl. Upon entering the establishment, we were immediately greeted and able to begin our orders. The staff was friendly and gave generous portions. We chose to dine-in and eat on the barstools located at the front, facing the street. We were able to enjoy the downtown ambience while we enjoyed the warmth away from the cold outside. They also have a patio seating area in front of the restaurant that is able to be opened up. Due to the cold weather, it was closed, but as it begins to heat up it would be a great place to enjoy some affordable, personal, Mexican cuisine with friendly service. read more

The downtown area already has several fast Mexican places, but I was ready for a Qdoba since we've never had one around us! I was disappointed the first time I had it, but I gave them more chances and can say I've been pleasantly surprised! The queso and queso diablo are amazing! Their chips are really good too! My go to has been the mini burrito bowls lately! It's the perfect amount of food that you just can't get at Moe's or Chipotle for a fraction of the price! read more

Where has Qdoba been all my life???? Chipotle and Moes can't compete! The line was long so be prepared to wait during lunch time. It's also extremely hard to find parking in the area. Outside of those two things Qdoba is GREAT!! read more

I'm sorry this was THEE worst food I've had in Birmingham in a while. They pulled me in by offering free cheese and Guac but tbh it's not even worth it in the bowl. The guacamole tastes like it's fresh out of a bag. I refuse to believe there is a fresh avocado anywhere in there. To compare it was almost exactly, if not worse than Subway Guac if you will. Then the rice? No seasoning. I got a mix of both and the white rice tastes just like that. White. Was seasoning on there the world may never know. The adobo rice had a flavor, but no seasoning. Nothing that made me say ooo that tastes really good. It just wasn't bland like the white rice. Now on to the shrimp I got in my bowl. Overcooked or over boiled I have no clue they just weren't good. Then the rest of the toppings... honestly they were all fighting each other. Nothing came together to make a decent flavor profile. It just ended up tasting like, for lack of better words, hot garbage in my mouth. I'd say definitely just go to chipotle or Moe's because it was definitely not worth the 17$ I paid that I probably could have just gotten at chipotle for 13$ Only reason they got one star is because the servers were nice and the place was clean. I guess the best I can say is that it was okay. If you've been to Moe's or Chipotle then you know what to expect. So it begs the question does the world really need another fast food pseudo Mexican restaurant? Anyway the quantity of food was good for the price. The quality and taste was okay but certainly not gourmet! For a quick lunch it'll do. It appeared to me they had just opened. I saw who I believed to be the owners working side by side with their employees. I wish them luck, but with all the other choices in downtown Birmingham I doubt I'll be back. read more

I ordered nachos and received a bowl of slop ingredients with no chips in the bowl but instead in a bag "on the side". To make things even more bizarre, the soupy mixture of all those ingredients coalescing together in the most aesthetically unappealing way still manage to taste bland and almost like nothing, the only thing with flavor was the side of salsa I had with it. It tasted like something you'd receive at minor league baseball game. I would post a picture of it but it's already in my trash can. I don't blame the workers at all but the CEO's and board of directors should be publicly shamed so hard it gives them PTSD like their food did to me. read more
