    Chicken Flauta

Love when new businesses can repurpose one's closing. This one used to be a Pizza Hut! It's a simple and traditional Mexican restaurant atmosphere, with tables, booths, and a full bar w/ bar seating. Even with a few staff, they're very efficient. My waitress was sweet and prompt. I was hungry & craving good Mexican food and this spot did just that. Also, noticed yelp & google are lacking so... here ya go! I ordered the Pepe Special, 1 Carne Asada street taco, and 1 chicken flauta. Everything was hot, fresh, and tasty! I wasn't a big fan of their corn tortilla for the street taco but, that's a preference. All this for less than $20!!!! Take a moment, and stop in for lunch or dinner. You won't be disappointed.

    My receipt if $18.85

This review could have been prevented but the manager has no idea what "customer service" means. I had lunch at this place on Monday 2/24/2025. When the charge hit my card it was for $2.00 more than my total after tip. I called today when I got home from my work trip. I asked do they charge fees for card users? Yes. How much? With accent it was hard to tell if he said 2% or 3%. But my charge was an extra $2.00 even which is closer to 10.6%. I asked to speak to the manager, the manager/owner is who I had on the phone. I said if you upcharge everyone like you did me that is dishonest. He proceeded to blame "the company" that installed the machines. I asked for their name or number but he couldn't/wouldn't provide it "right now". He said if you're making a big deal about $2 come here and I will give it back to you. I live in South Carolina. That's not going to happen. But this review is going to happen. It's not the amount, it's the principle. Beware of this place and their hidden 2% that becomes 10% credit card fee that wasn't posted (bet it is now!). Sneak $2 from one customer you get $2, sneak it from 100... I am disputing the transaction.

So this has been on my list and I finally came here on a Thursday evening with my son. It's at the end of a shopping center where a Walmart is. We got there about 5:30 PM. It was not busy at all. We were promptly greeted by a hostess that sat us in a booth. We started off with the chips and salsa, but on the menu it does say after two baskets they will charge you for the chips and salsa. We only had one. The chip could've been a little thinner. It's rude to find a raspberry margarita so I wanted to get one unfortunately they didn't have any frozen ones. They were just on the rocks. I was pretty shocked when I looked at the receipt and saw that it was $17 for a Margarita and it definitely wasn't worth that much. It had kind of a weird taste to it. We did get the cheese dip and it was very delicious. I decided to try the Mexican lasagna, which was so delicious. I got it with the beef and it was layers of ground beef, pico beans, and possibly some rice too. It was a good portion and I ended up bringing the other half home. My son ended up getting nachos with shrimp, chicken and steak and he really enjoyed it and finished his whole plate. I will definitely be back sooner than later because I love some good Mexican food, but I will probably end up getting just a soda next time. Fernando was our waiter and he was very attentive. I will say the restaurant in the bathrooms were clean. There's only one bathroom each for men and women. I would think it a restaurant this big they would have more stalls.

So that's exactly what I did--hauled myself over to Pastor's Kitchen to start the day off right (or at least try to). We sat down for a quick bite before heading out to conquer the world--or at least our to-do lists. I went with the ol' faithful: scrambled eggs and bacon. My son decided to get fancy with the breakfast tacos. Now, I've got to say, my bacon came out a little more crispy than Christian, bless its heart. The scrambled eggs were... well, let's just say I've had the same thing at about a dozen other spots in town. Nothing to write home about, but it filled the tank. Normally, Pastor's hits the mark--they're known for good grub and even better vibes. The place was spotless, the staff was friendly as always, and the Christian music humming in the background gave it that easy-going, Sunday-morning feel even on a weekday. So while today's breakfast wasn't exactly divine intervention, the company made up for it. After all, breakfast with your boy is always time well spent--even if the bacon's a little too close to burnt offering status.
