I was not happy with my food. Crispy tacos were soggy. Not a very tasty chicken quesadilla. My wife loved the shrimp fajita salad. The margaritas were nice but the server charged me full price for a happy hour margarita. Chips and salsa were average. I don't plan to return. read more

Chabely's is a hidden gem in Cottondale and is by far the best Mexican food in the area. The service is one of a kind and they go out of their way to make your dining experience fantastic! There is such a large variety of food options and even off menu Birria tacos that are to die for. Came here while driving from NJ to TX, and let me say one thing first; wow! This is such a hole-in-the-wall type place and definitely gives off cozy for the family resturant energy. The place is small but packs a punch, from the salsa you get with your complimentary chips to the friendliness of the workers. Food came out so quick and it was fresh and tasted fantastic! I got the Shrimp Fajitas and my partner got the Queso Birria. He did say that he wished the sauce had more spice but otherwise no complaints. Definitely recommend stopping here, whether you are a local or just a traveler passing through. read more

Chabely's is great. The food was awesome. The service was awesome. The price was reasonable. The restaurant appeared very clean. The food was delicious. I had the daily special Bowl which was filled with chicken and steak on a bed of Mexican rice. It was so good. It came with diced tomatos, lettuce, sour cream, and tortillas. We had daddy daughter date night and my daughter really enjoyed her meal too. The margaritas here are pretty strong and they have 4 different sizes. Two 16oz about did me in. Haha! read more

Very small place, but packed with good food and excellent service! I had Chabely's tacos and they were FULL of steak. They also had bacon but I asked for it on the side but didn't eat any since I count my calories. My husband had nachos and he enjoyed as well. We are not from here, just passing thru but if ever back I would come again. I saw someone gave a bad review for a fish dish, I think I would stick to fajitas and the likes in a Mexican restaurant you are not familiar with. read more

I went there several times even during Covid, I would do take out. Each time I felt comfortable dining in or out, highly recommend them.

I wasn't impressed at all. My fish was tuff and vegetables were to burnt. Water was good though.

Service was great! Food was delicious, fresh salsa. Patio seating was nice, we rode our Harley's up there. We can easily keep an eye on the bikes from the patio. read more

Out of towners be ware. Stopped in, started getting regrets from the moment I sat down. Ordered up a burrito, then they bring me a small burrito that is just like Taco Bell. I asked the waiter for real meat, the guy disappeared for 10 minutes comes back and puts the check on the table instead of bringing back what I askeed for and then insisted that I pay for something that I didn't eat. We ordered take out tonight was told 15 minutes was there in 20 and it takes me 5 to get home from there. As you can tell one order of rice and beans got shorted BIG TIME compared to the other. EVERYTHING was cold including cheese dip that was so cold it was almost solid again. When I called to speak to a manager the woman who works the counter said she was manager tonight and her VERY FIRST response when I told her about the problem was "Well what do you want me to do about it?" I have been to this restaurant several times. But today will be my last time. I order a strawberry margarita frozen. The waiter brought me a strawberry daiquiri. Than he try to explain to me. It's the same thing. Which is a lie. The server can barely speak English. I told him that's not what I order. So he walk off and came back with a strawberry margarita. He try to leave the strawberry daiquiri on the table. When I told him I didn't want it. He try to tell me I was going to pay for it. Than he got upset telling me he won't serve me anymore. Listen to the food is good. But not that good. I refuse to spend my hard earn money at this establishment again. read more

The employees are so nice that they make you feel welcomed and even thank you for coming to their restaurant. You can't help but feel happy about being there. I got their taco salad and was able to customize my order to half-beef and half-chicken. They don't have rice or bean in their taco salad, which might irritate you at first but the zesty taste of their beef, vegetables, and salsa tasted zesty makes you forget about that by the time you're done. Their taco salads are more soggy than others. I accidentally cracked the shell causing all of the goo inside to spill out. The chips are tasteless but that could be because the salsa was so zesty. read more

Great Place if you want Food Poisoning..... I travel the country every week and felt like Mexican this week....that's my fault to start. The food was mediocre Mexican at best, wasn't looking for the best Mexican because "Hell I'm in Alabama". I thought it would be cheap and it definitely made that part of the list. I don't know what exactly gave me food poisoning because a friend ate there with me and he was fine. I had the Verde Chicken Enchiladas which I thought would be safe enough. He had tacos...basically same ingredients. At the end of the meal though, 1 worker brought out a mop bucket with a concentrated cleaner with absolutely no water added. The smell was overwhelming and made me sick to my stomach immediately. There was only 1 other table in the restaurant at that time and I'm glad we were done because I would have complained to the management about cleaning while people are still dining. I find this to be a problem with a lot of Mexican restaurants, I walked out of one in my home town because of their cleaning while people are still eating and they need to realize how to use the chemicals correctly. We got out of there ASAP but I guarantee that contributed to my food poisoning. Needless to say, I couldn't work a football game the next day for the 1st time in my 20 plus career. Stay away from this place....especailly at closing time.....They don't deserve a rating ...it sucked so bad but of course Yelp makes you rate...a 1/2 star is still too much. read more

I have searched high and low for decent tamales and this place exceeded my expectations...they are absolutely to die for. The cheese sauce and red sauce they put on them is wonderful. The fajitas were ok; not really any different from other Mexican restaurants. The chips and salsa were good. If I were basing my review on the tamales only, it would be five stars. But taking into consideration the environment and cleanliness, I decided four stars was being generous. I personally don't care for the constantly loud atmosphere and the place could use a thorough deep cleaning. My first trip tonight to Chabely's even though it's only two miles from my back door. Got a carry out order of T1 (4 soft beef tacos) and a C1 (beef chimichanga). Lady who took my order was very courteous. Total on order was a little over $18, which I found reasonable. Order was ready in about 5 minutes. In addition to my order, there was also a container of salsa (best in town, no doubt) and chips. The food was very good. Will be going back to try the fajitas and margaritas.
