I've been here twice now. On my most recent visit service was extremely slow despite an almost empty restaurant for lunch. When I arrived there was only one other party already sitting and 1 to go pick up order arrived in front of me. Both of us had to wait longer than you would expect for the only server to come out of the kitchen to bring food to the seated party, seat me and then help the pick up order customer. Once ordered food arrived promptly. Since it was Tuesday, I chose the taco basket with 2 chicken and 1 beef. The complimentary chips and salsa were good with 2 different salsa options a green and red. I didn't not a significant heat level difference between the 2 and liked both. While both types of tacos were good, I preferred the chicken especially after adding some of the green salsa and sour cream. I found it filling enough for lunch and other than adding a margarita would have been satisfied for dinner as well. The Mexican Pizza I had on previous visit was really good and would order again too. It also took longer than expected for the check and to get change back. The decor inside is pretty typical for Americanized Mexican style restaurants. I probably will return at some point for lunch again just not in a big rush and definitely not if I need a quick turnaround. read more

Food was good. Service is horrible! We have never had an experience like today. I had to ask for a server to come and take our order. Other tables waiting for checks and waiting to order. Took our drink and food order. Food came out before drinks,WTF!!!!!! It was only water and tea. Poor bus boy was the only worker we saw so he helped by getting us a to go box and the check. I usually tip 20-25%. Not this time, the server owns us money. Do not waste your time and money. I'd rather spend $100 at the Renaissance hotel then EVER come back here. AWFUL SERVICE! Our waiter (a guy) was terrible. My friend asked for a refill of water 3 TIMES and NEVER got it. We also asked for more chips and a to-go box for our queso. NEVER GOT THEM EITHER! He only came out to take our drink and food order. Stayed in the back/kitchen. Barely ever saw him. He got so tip. Dude didn't even try. So don't get the waiter who has dark hair, with a mustache. Went to an event here wasn't really impressed with the food or service. Not a single Hispanic worker in sight so no attention or swiftness at any point lol. They had goat cream cheese in one of their wraps in the snack bar. I was like what is this a baby shower, give me something spicy please? The saving grace was the strawberry mocktail which was good but also the event coordinator my sister told us we were allowed to order anything that didn't have alcohol in it for drinks My mom and I ordered this and was promptly sent a bill by their staff We paid it because I didn't want to argue and say mocktails don't have alcohol in them so why am I paying $7 for this? Anyways my sister was busy that night with the election polls. I never even brought it up to her. Our candidate lost and so I just left and probably won't be back. read more

Sysco food, gourmet prices. My wife and I stopped in for lunch, and there were more servers present than patrons. We were seated and served quickly, and the staff was friendly. The inside was clean and well decorated, with TVs on the wall. I am of the mind that the chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant have to be delicious. La Paz's was passable. The chips were thick, and my wife and I agreed the salsa tasted like Pace with cilantro and lime added. See the picture and judge for yourself. We both got street tacos; I got the pork, my wife got the chicken. I give my pork tacos a passing grade, and the chicken tacos a fail. The chicken looked and tasted like the pre-cooked, slightly rubbery stuff you can buy at the supermarket. The slaw seemed to be pre-shredded from a bag with lime juice added. Despite being one of two couples there, we didn't get a refill on our waters. Other than that, the service was fine. I'd love it if this place were better, or cheaper, or both, because it's so close to where we live. But frankly, I'd drive further and pay more for better food. In the middle of the Ross Bridge neighborhood, it's convenient if you live there or close to there. There were only 4 tables total when we went for lunch and what looked like 1 server and 1 manager. The server was friendly and kept busy since she was handling the tables mostly on her own. The chips were not thin like Chuy's. The salsas were okay. We order the enchilada and the fish taco from the lunch menu. I didn't like their enchilada at all. Ate less than half and tossed the rest. The rice was nothing special. The bean....was sour? I actually asked about it, and the server doesn't know why it's sour, but she assured me it's not because it has gone bad. I wasn't really reassured. The fish taco was decent, and likely we would order it again should we come back. However, whether we would go back is pretty debatable with all the better options in town. read more

I ordered the grilled salmon, which was perfectly cooked and paired with a delicious lemon-dill sauce. My husband and I ate here on our way to our next destination and we are very upset there isn't a location in New Orleans where we're from. We've been talking about it since we ate there. The restaurant ambiance is relaxed and casual. The location is ideal for residents who live in the Ross Bridge neighborhood. Service was good on Tuesday night; we were seated promptly and service was okay. I was a little disappointed that there were no Spanish speaking servers. I was hoping to have some simple conversation. Chips and salsa (green and red) were served after we were seated. The green salsa was thin but had a little spiciness to it. The red was okay, but nothing special. Honestly, I thought it tasted like Tostitos Chunky Salsa that you can buy in the grocery store. For my entree I ordered the pork tamales. The tamales were not what I expected. The pork is not rolled inside the mesa (tamale corn dough). Instead the tamales are plain mesa and then topped with pork, red sauce, and cheese. I thought the pork had a nice flavor, but the mesa has no soul. And the tamales seemed to harden and I had to add salsa to give them some life. My wife ordered fajitas and they looked good. She thought they were okay, but very overpriced at $24.00. Other than the convenient location I probably won't be back. read more

We went early so no wait, but the inside was definitely way smaller than we expected so I assume this place fills up quick during busy hours! Chips were hot and fresh, GREAT Green salsa and regular salsa provided. I love that they bring both. Queso was absolutely amazing and so flavorful. I got the steak tacos and it came with house made chipotle sauce ... super yummy! $17.50 for 3 steak tacos was extremely steep but other than that it was amazing. My husband and I stopped in for a quick lunch today. Food was good. The service was fine until our waitress brought the bill. We put a $50 on the tray and it was swooped away. Then our waitress ghosted us. She came in and out of the dining area several times but never looked our way. We waited about 20 minutes and then finally flagged down the hostess to ask for to-go drinks. The hostess attempted to clear our table first, and narrowly avoided spilling queso and salsa all over my husband. After we received our drinks, we still hadn't had any eye contact from our waitress (who had passed by us several more times by then). We finally got up and at that point she came rushing over with our receipt and change repeating that she was sorry. We left the change but took the receipt with us. I have to admit that I was irritated by the entire thing. She wrangled a 35% tip out of us by her actions. It wasn't a huge dollar amount, so that's not the point. The point is that it should have been MY choice what size tip to leave, not hers. We live in the neighborhood and stopped in at LaPaz today because it was quick and convenient and I love their queso. But I'm going to have to let my irritation die down before we go back. read more

Last week, my husband told me about a brand new Mexican restaurant that opened in the front of the neighborhood. This weekend, we decided to try it. Since I am still healing post-surgery, we ordered dinner in via DoorDash. My husband wanted the Beef Quesadilla, and after going back and forth between several things, I chose the Shrimp Poblano. In about 45 minutes, the food had arrived and we settled in with our plates. The Beef Quesadilla for my husband filled the entire plate! He was excited and was totally ready to dig in. He said that the quesadilla was very tasty. He said it had just the right amount of flavor for him. My Shrimp Poblano was SUPER cheesy and so good! It came with rice with corn, and a corn, zucchini, and pepper medley as side dishes. The flavor of the entree and the sides was amazing. Everything on my plate was delicious. I wish I had taken pictures of both of our meals, but we had eaten everything before I remembered to get photos. Definitely next time!) When I am fully healed, we will go to the restaurant (since it is extremely convenient to home) and enjoy the food while sitting there. Mexican food at its finest. Probably not "authentic" Mexican food, but it is definitely great Mexican food. They have lots of menu items...I would venture to say there is something for everyone. Their drink and beer selection is top notch. We usually go to Mt. Laurel location once a month because are in that area once a month. However, we are glad they are now in our area...we can go any time we want to go. The physical restaurant is a little on the small side, especially since we are use to the Mt. Laurel location. I think we have tried everything on the menu and never had a bad experience. They bring out red salsa and a tomatillo salso. Their cheese dip is good, too. read more

Started with chips and salsa, they bring you a red, and a green salsa, both were very tasty, but lacking in any heat. Didn't really expect too much, but it was at least tasty!
