The entrees I've tried. The dish they serve in a pineapple shell is bland. The other time I ate there I had the fajita also disappointing. However the appetizers I've tried were good. Service was ok the first trip but not so good the last time. That waitor didn't come back to check on us if we needed anything and he only came back to tell my husband that they didn't have the beer he wanted but didn't bother to offer anything else and left! So I had to locate him and tell him my husband still needs a drink. There weren't many customers in the place at the time either so there wasn't that excuse. The food taste better than it looks. The presentation of the food was definitely lacking. The food was not ready when we got there even though the website said it would be ready in 10 min it was a good 20 min and then the food was cold when I got home (less than 5 min away) I could have warmed the food up if it wasn't in a tin plate. I got the beef enchiladas and they were just OK.....nothing to rave about and the rice was undercooked. I have definitely had better enchiladas. I love Mexican food, and they have a nice menu so I will try something else off the menu before I make a final decision but for now I can only give them 3 stars. This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the metro Birmingham area. Staff are always friendly and food is super delicious! Everything served is super fresh. Owner and his son run the business like a fine Swiss watch. There margaritas are very good also! It's a great place to celebrate birthdays or have just lunch with friends. It gets busy, so there is always extra,parking across the street by The Printing House. My favorites are their chicken lettuce tacos, taco salad and chicken soup. My family went here for dinner one night, I would say it was just mediocre. I had the chicken fajita burrito, it only had chicken inside no onions, no peppers nothing but chicken cut up in squares and it tasted like it had been heated up in the microwave with no flavor at all. I also ordered cheese on my rice but either the waitress or cook forgot, when I mentioned it, she said she would have to take my whole plate back to get it, so I just said never mind. My aunt ordered chicken over rice, she took a few bites, but did not like it at all and did not eat it, Hers had a weird flavor. She also ordered a medium cheese dip and they split it 4 ways on our bills when she brought it out at $2.50 each My mom had the enchiladas she said hers was okay just tasted different than most she had before. We live in Hueytown and had never been here so when we had the opportunity to attend a birthday party that was being held here, we were pretty excited. We love us some GOOD Mexican food, and not all Mexican food is the same so we went in a little reserved. The parking isn't the best because of the way the restaurant is situated. Just know that when you go. We parked in a little lot behind it. When we walked in we were greeted by friendly folks in the front of the restaurant, and promptly taken to where the party was taking place. Once we were seated drink orders were taken and brought out almost immediately. Sometimes with large groups, it's not always the case. The food... oh my! The chips were really good and crispy and I'm not a salsa fan but I'll try anything once so I did try it. It was good!! I don't like spicy things but this was perfect! Just the perfect amount of spice. Cheese dip is always a favorite and theirs did NOT disappoint! I could have made a meal of it and the chips but I did get some chicken quesadillas. They were perfectly seasoned, as were the beans and such. My husband and children enjoyed their food as well. In a nutshell, the staff, atmosphere and the food were great!! I guess if I had to "complain", it would be about the pricing. They do run more expensive than most of the other Mexican restaurants that we've eaten at. We were in Hueytown for business. We randomly stopped in not knowing anything about this restaurant. This was hands down the best, freshest, most delicious Mexican food I have ever had. My husband ordered the stuffed avocado and I got the street tacos. Every ingredient was fresh and flavorful. The staff was friendly and kind, and the restaurant itself is very clean. I'm a regular customer & like their food. Went by yesterday at 11:20 to eat breakfast and they brought me a lunch menu. When I asked for the breakfast menu they said they're no longer serving breakfast. Their breakfast hours are 8:00 to 12:00 and I've eaten late breakfast's there before. I just got up and walked out. If you advertise breakfast during certain hours you need to honor the hours. My current plans are to never eat there again. Sad and bad service!!! read more

Stopped in to try out this restaurant for lunch today. Wasn't busy at all, but only saw our waitress a handful of times. Had to go to the bar to request refills on our drinks, and the check wasn't split when we asked for it to be. Cashier had a bad attitude and clearly didn't want to be at work on a Saturday, and food was only okay.
