I was surfing the web for new restaurants in the area and saw that they had built a new BBQ in Smithfield. My parents use to live in Smithfield and I haven't visited for a while ...so I asked the family if they wanted to take a drive and check it out. So we drove from Va Beach and got there about 30 minutes before they closed. The staff was SO friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is laid back and the dinning area is kept very clean. The wife & daughter got pulled pork and I got the brisket. We tried different sides so we could sample each. Mac & cheese, broccoli/bacon salad, and smokey sweet baked beans. We loved all of it ...including the price. The broccoli/bacon salad (delicious) is unique and you won't find it just anywhere. It is a bit of a drive from Va Beach ...but well worth it. We will be back ...I didn't get to try the banana pudding yet and it looks wonderful :) read more

I have eaten BBQ all over the country. I'd put this right up there with Mike Mills (17th Street BBQ). This is not your typical Eastern Carolina style vinegary BBQ. This most resembles a Memphis style pulled pork. It is "dressed" in a sweeter style sauce and is moist and tender. They take the time to cover every butt in house made rub. No details are skipped. They hand pull every butt and remove most all fat and connective tissue. Jesse (pitmaster) takes the time that others don't. My family eats there almost every week. You can't beat the service! The staff is super friendly and the place is always super clean. The food is all scratch made! The brisket is super moist and tasty. The broccoli salad is a home run with my wife. Save room for the banana snap pudding! read more

This place is such an awesome addition to Smithfield's restaurant selection. The brisket and BBQ are fantastic! I was initially concerned as I only like vinegar-based BBQ, so I thought. This BBQ is soooo good. I've tried almost all of their sides and have yet to be disappointed. Their customer service is top-notch, too. There have been times when I wanted to try a new side or wanted a taste of something, and I've always been offered a sample before even asking. Check this place out and you won't be disappointed! read more

This is hands-down one of my favorite BBQ joints. Their brisket is frickin divine, and their sides are just as good. Every time my parents come into town, it's usually the first thing they want to eat. The staff are also really friendly and professional, and I was almost embarrassed when they started remembering my order (maybe I've started eating out too often). Anyway, I highly recommend this place if you've got a taste for great BBQ, fresh made sides, and friendly service. read more
