After texting to share some photos they said they'd need a window technician to check it out. They showed up exactly when scheduled and texted to let me know when they were nearly here. It turned out to be an easy fix so they took care of it on the spot, free of charge. They even insisted on cleaning up the little plastic bits that came off the window during the repair (even though I told them I could take care of it). A good landscaper would have known about the disease. They also left the side of the tree they did trim on our side full and hanging over. So there tree looks real stupid.
